Fionn interviews Don Wycherley, a film actor probably best known for the portrayal of Father Cyril McDuff in the comedy Father Ted. Don plays the role of Brother Baxter in Sing Street.
Sing Street is a 2016 musical comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by John Carney. The story revolves around a boy starting a band to impress a girl. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on 24 January 2016. It was released in Ireland on 17 March 2016, in the United States on 15 April, and in the United Kingdom on 20 May.
Recorded at the Irish premiere, part of the Dublin International Film Festival, February 2016.

The play has already led to a Tony award for Irish actor, Jim Norton and now a new Abbey production of The Seafarer is set to continue to enthral audiences in Cork and Donegal in the coming days.
Norton scooped the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway production of Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER, at a star-studded award ceremony hosted by Whoopi Goldberg in New York last Sunday night.
The Irish actor starred as blind, alcoholic brother, Richard, in McPherson's dark but hilarious play about a group of old drinking buddies who pass Christmas Eve getting drunk and playing cards with the devil.
Last year Norton also picked up a Laurence Olivier Award for the same role.
The play was nominated for three other Tony's including - Best Play and Best Director for McPherson and a second nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor for Conleth Hill.
A new Abbey production of THE SEAFARER directed by Jimmy Fay and starring Liam Carney, George Costigan, Phelim Drew, Maelíosa Stafford and Don Wycherley is currently on a tour of the four provinces. Already having played Dublin and Galway,
THE SEAFARER opened in the Cork Opera House on Tuesday 17 June for a weeklong run before completing the tour in An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny, Donegal, from 24 to 28 June.
The staging of the play in the Southern Province marks something of a homecoming for former Bachelors Walk star Don Wycherley who's been talking about the experience.

Don Wycherley
Don Wycherley (born 1967 in Skibbereen, County Cork) is an Irish actor, probably best known for the portrayal of Father Cyril McDuff in the comedy Father Ted. Other roles include Raymond in Bachelors Walk and Fr. Aidan O'Connell in Ballykissangel. He is the brother of location manager Gordon Wycherley and brother-in-law of actress Tina Kellegher, who also appeared in Ballykissangel. He is a fluent Irish speaker and has appeared in several roles incorporating the language.

Box office
A box office is a place where tickets are sold to the public for admission to an event. Patrons may perform the transaction at a countertop, through a hole in a wall or window, or at a wicket.
By extension, the term is frequently used, especially in the context of the film industry, as a synonym for the amount of business a particular production, such as a film or theatre show, receives.
Box office business can be measured in terms of the number of tickets sold or the amount of money raised by ticket sales (revenue). The projection and analysis of these earnings is very important for the creative industries and often a source of interest for fans. This is predominant in the Hollywood movie industry.
Etymology
The term is attested since 1786, presumably from sales of boxes (private seating areas in a theatre). The sense of "total sales" is attested from 1904.
A folk etymology is that this derives from Elizabethan theatre (i.e. late 16th century), where theatre admission was collected in a box attached to a long stick, passed around the audience; comparable to "bottle" in Punch and Judy, where money was collected in a bottle. However, first attestation is about 200 years later, making this highly unlikely.

Veronica Guerin
Veronica Guerin (5 July 1958 – 26 June 1996) was an Irish crime reporter who was murdered on 26 June 1996 by drug lords, an event which helped establish the Criminal Assets Bureau.
Early and personal life
The daughter of accountant Christopher and his wife Bernadette, Veronica was nicknamed "Ronnie." She and her four siblings were born and brought up in Artane, Dublin, and attended Catholic school where she excelled in athletics. Besides basketball and camogie, aged 15 she played in the all-Ireland football finals with a slipped disc. Guerin studied accountancy at Trinity College, Dublin.
Guerin married Graham Turley, and the couple had a son Cathal. A big fan of Manchester United football team, her prized possession was a photo of her and Eric Cantona taken on a visit to Old Trafford.
PR career: 1983–1990
After she graduated, her father employed her at his company; but following his death three years later, she changed professions and started a public relations firm in 1983, which she ran for seven years.

Arts centre
An art centre or arts center is distinct from an art gallery or art museum. An arts centre is a functional community centre with a specific remit to encourage arts practice and to provide facilities such as theatre space, gallery space, venues for musical performance, workshop areas, educational facilities, technical equipment, etc.
In the United States, "art centers" are generally either establishments geared toward exposing, generating, and making accessible art making to arts-interested individuals, or buildings that rent primarily to artists, galleries, or companies involved in art making.
In Britain, art centres began after World War II and gradually changed from mainly middle-class places to 1960s and 1970s trendy, alternative centres and eventually in the 1980s to serving the whole community with a programme of enabling access to wheelchair users and disabled individuals and groups.
In the rest of Europe it is common among most art centres that they are partly government funded, since they are considered to have a positive influence on society and economics according to the Rhineland model philosophy. A lot of those organisations originally started in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s as squading spaces and were later on legalized.

Fionn interviews Don Wycherley, a film actor probably best known for the portrayal of Father Cyril McDuff in the comedy Father Ted. Don plays the role of Brother Baxter in Sing Street.
Sing Street is a 2016 musical comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by John Carney. The story revolves around a boy starting a band to impress a girl. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on 24 January 2016. It was released in Ireland on 17 March 2016, in the United States on 15 April, and in the United Kingdom on 20 May.

The play has already led to a Tony award for Irish actor, Jim Norton and now a new Abbey production of The Seafarer is set to continue to enthral audiences in Cork and Donegal in the coming days.
Norton scooped the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway production of Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER, at a star-studded award ceremony hosted by Whoopi Goldberg in New York last Sunday night.
The Irish actor starred as blind, alcoholic brother, Richard, in McPherson's dark but hilarious play about a group of old drinking buddies who pass Christmas Eve getting drunk and playing cards with the devil.
Last year Norton also picked up a Laurence Olivier Award for the same role.
The play was nominated for three other Tony's including - Best Play and Best Director for McPherson and a second nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor for Conleth Hill.
A new Abbey production of THE SEAFARER directed by Jimmy Fay and starring Liam Carney, George Costigan, Phelim Drew, Maelíosa Stafford and Don Wycherley is currently on a tour of the four provinces. Already having played Dublin and Galway,
THE SEAFARER opened in the Cork Opera House on Tuesday 17 June for a weeklong run before completing the tour in An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny, Donegal, from 24 to 28 June.
The staging of the play in the Southern Province marks something of a homecoming for former Bachelors Walk star Don Wycherley who's been talking about the experience.

ADIFF TV present the Opening Gala screening of SING STREET, as part of The Audi Dublin International Film Festival.
SING STREET takes us back to 1980s Dublin where an economic recession forces Conor out of his comfortable private school and into survival mode at the inner-city public school where the kids are rough and the teachers are rougher. He finds a glimmer of hope in the mysterious and über-cool Raphina, and with the aim of winning her heart he invites her to star in his band’s music videos. She agrees, and now Conor must deliver what he’s promised – calling himself “Cosmo” and immersing himself in the vibrant rock music trends of the ‘80s, he forms a band with a few lads, and the group pours their hearts into writing lyrics and shooting videos. Combining Carney’s trademark warmth and humor with a punk rock edge, and featuring a memorable soundtrack with hits from The Cure, Duran Duran, The Police, and Genesis, SING STREET is an electrifying coming-of-age film that will resonate with music fans across the board.
Sing Street will be released by Lionsgate UK in cinemas across Ireland on Thursday 17thMarch.
The 2016 Audi Dublin International Film Festival will feature over 80 films from 27 countries, and will welcome over 40 guests to the capital over this 11 day celebration of film.

THE SEAFARER set to wow audiences in Cork and Donegal
The play has already led to a Tony award for Irish actor, Jim Norton and now a new Abbey production of The Seafarer is set to continue to enthral audiences in Cork and Donegal in the coming days. Norton scooped the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway production of Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER, at a star-studded award ceremony hosted by Whoopi Goldberg in New York last Sunday night. The play has already led to a Tony award for Irish actor, Jim Norton and now a new Abbey production of The Seafarer is set to continue to enthral audiences in Cork and Donegal in the coming days.
Norton scooped the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway production of Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER, at a star-studded award ceremony hosted by Whoopi Goldberg in New York last Sunday night.
The Irish actor starred as blind, alcoholic brother, Richard, in McPherson's dark but hilarious play about a group of old drinking buddies who pass Christmas Eve getting drunk and playing cards with the devil.
Last year Norton also picked up a Laurence Olivier Award for the same role.
The play was nominated for three other Tony's including - Best Play and Best Director for McPherson and a second nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor for Conleth Hill.
A new Abbey production of THE SEAFARER directed by Jimmy Fay and starring Liam Carney, George Costigan, Phelim Drew, Maelíosa Stafford and Don Wycherley is currently on a tour of the four provinces. Already having played Dublin and Galway,
THE SEAFARER opened in the Cork Opera House on Tuesday 17 June for a weeklong run before completing the tour in An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny, Donegal, from 24 to 28 June.
The staging of the play in the Southern Province marks something of a homecoming for former Bachelors Walk star Don Wycherley who's been talking about the experience.

A native of Cork, Murphy began his performing career as a rock musician. After turning down a record deal, he made his professional acting debut in the play Disco Pigs in 1996. While continuing with stage work he also began appearing in independent films, first coming to international attention in 2002 as the hero of Danny Boyle's post-apocalyptic film 28 Days Later. Murphy's profile continued to grow in 2005 when he appeared in a series of successful films: firstly as the Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's 2005 blockbuster Batman Begins – a role he reprised in The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012) – and secondly in the action–thriller Red Eye. For his performance as a transgender woman in Breakfast on Pluto, Murphy received a Golden Globe award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.
