Since it was built in 1924, it has had a varied history as a health club, bar, music venue and billiard room.

It is located on Sunset Boulevard.

History

The building at 6525 Sunset Blvd has been known as the Hollywood Athletic Club, University of Judaism, Berwin Entertainment Complex, and Hollywood Landmark. It was built in 1924 by Meyer & Holler, the same architectural firm that built the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Egyptian Theatre. At the time is was the tallest building in Hollywood.

When the Hollywood Athletic Club was first built in 1924, Hollywood was entering its greatest and most productive period. The building was the tallest building in Hollywood and loomed above Sunset Boulevard. Membership was originally $150 for initiation fees and $10 for monthly dues.

During its early years as a health club, its membership included Johnny Weissmuller, Errol Flynn, Charlie Chaplin, John Wayne, Walt Disney, John Ford, Douglas Fairbanks Sr., Mary Pickford, Cecil B. deMille, Cornel Wilde, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Frances X. Bushman, Howard Hughes, Joan Crawford, Rudolph Valentino, Mae West, Buster Crabbe and Pola Negri.

Hollywood

Hollywood (/ˈhɒliwʊd/ HOL-ee-wuud) is a neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California. The neighborhood is notable for its place as the home of the U.S. film industry, including several of its historic studios. Its name has come to be a metonym for the motion picture industry of the United States. Hollywood was a small community in 1870 and was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. It officially merged with the city of Los Angeles in 1910, and soon thereafter a prominent film industry began to emerge, eventually becoming the most recognizable film industry in the world.

History

Early history and development

In 1853, one adobe hut stood in Nopalera (Nopal field), named for the Mexican Nopal cactus indigenous to the area. By 1870, an agricultural community flourished. The area was known as the Cahuenga Valley, after the pass in the Santa Monica Mountains immediately to the north.

Personal

Lady Victoria is the elder daughter of the 6th Marquess of Bristol and his third wife Yvonne, Marchioness of Bristol (née Sutton). She is the elder sister of the 8th Marquess of Bristol and of Lady Isabella Hervey. Her older half-brothers were the 7th Marquess of Bristol and Lord Nicholas Hervey, both deceased. Leka, Crown Prince of Albania stood sponsor as one of her godfathers.

For the first two years of her life Lady Victoria lived at Ickworth House, the family seat in Suffolk, before her parents went into tax exile in Monaco. Educated at Benenden School, she spent a gap year in Florence and worked at advertising agencies in London.

Resident in Los Angeles, currently single, Hervey has had relationships with several celebrities, most notably Danish restaurateur Mogens Tholstrup, F1 race car driver David Coulthard and Boyzone member Shane Lynch.

Victoria Ann Moreno (born September 15, 1972), better known by her ring name Lady Victoria, is an American professional wrestler/luchadora, manager/valet, and actress. She began training to wrestle in 1991 and made her American professional wrestling debut on January 16, 1993. Lady Victoria made her first Mexican wrestling appearance during the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (EMLL) event held at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles on July 9, 1994 as well as her Lucha Libre Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) debut in Tijuana in 1995 and television debut at Triplemanía IV-A in Orizaba, Veracruz on July 15, 1996. During her career, Lady Victoria has performed all over the USA and Mexico, performing for companies such as AAA, CMLL/EMLL, IWRG, Promo Aztecas, and XPW.

Professional wrestling career

California and AAA

Moreno debuted as Victoria Starr, after being trained by Billy Anderson and Jesse Hernandez. She began wrestling as Lady Victoria three months into her career. She first performed in Tijuana in late 1993, where she was first introduced to the Lucha Libre style of wrestling. Having found this style closer to home, she began training and performing Lucha Libre at the All Nations Center in Los Angeles and the Boys and Girls Club in Pomona Valley for Sergio Garcia.
