In a series of videos, I will put forward the interest of all the major players that are involved in
Syrian War, I will start with
Turkey, the one that will gain most from the Syrian War. The question that should be asked is; What are Turkey's Interest in
Syria War? There are many, but let us examine only three of them:
Interest number one is
Denying the
Kurds the right of
Self Determination and to keep the Kurds powerless: Turkey has more than 20 million Kurds, and Turkey occupy what is know and
North Kurdistan, with the growing birth rate of Kurds that is much higher than
Turks not just inside Turkey but throughout
Middle East, Turkey find itself as a losing power in this century for with the growing
Kurdish population and their demand for self determination, in the coming years; Turkey will lose
Southeast to the Kurds. This will mean Turkey will lose its connection to the
East, especially to
Turkish speaking nations such as
Azerbaijan,
Turkmenistan and others in
Central Asia, it will lose its border with
Iran and
Kurdish region in
Iraq which mean Turkey will be cut off from exporting energy of Iraq, Iran, the
Kurdistan Region in Iraq and Central Asia, Turkey wants to be the hub for exporting energy to
Europe, Also the Kurdish region in Turkey is rich with natural resources and mineral, such as
Copper in the area of
Diyarbakir (
Amed) and the most import reason; water. More important than oil and energy, water will play a major rule in the future of the Middle East, and the two biggest river in the region,
Tigers and Euphrates start from the Kurdish region in Turkey, and once Turkey loses the Kurdish region, it will loses its power over controlling exporting energy to Europe and controlling its nights via controlling their water sources.
Now that the Kurds are in armed struggle inside Turkey and also the Kurds have an
Autonomy and a self government in
North Iraq or
South Kurdistan, Turkey want to stop the Kurds in
North Syria from gaining more power and getting an Autonomy form Assad after the war or the breakup of Syria, not only Turkey is afraid of the
Kurds in Syria having more right and inspiring the
Kurds in Turkey to ask for the same, but also Turkey fear that once the Kurds control all of North Syria, Turkey will be isolated form both East and
South, cut off from Central Asia in the East and the
Arab Countries in the South by the Kurds, which bring the second
point.
Interest number two is the
Gas and
Oil pipeline from the
Persian Gulf via Turkey to Europe: Turkey's share intrest with
European countries, the
Arab countries in the Persian Gulf and the
American is to create a pipeline from
Saudi Arabia via
Jordan via Syria via Turkey to Europe to export gas and oil to Europe, this will mean cutting off Iran and
Russia form dominating
European market. Russia and Iran's plan is for exporting Gas via Iraq via Syria to Europe, and having
Bashar Assad in power which is a friend of both Iran and
Russian will mean that the Russian plan is more practical, and the only way for Turkey and the Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia,
Qatar,
UAE and
Bahrain to have their pipeline is to remove Assad and replace him with a government that is open to their plan, and North Syria must not fall into the hand of the Kurds nor should the
Syrian border with Turkey on the
Western part of Syria to the
Syrian Army. Now that both the Kurds and
Syrian army are closing in at liberating those area that are close to the Turkish border, Turkey and its allies find themselves losing the war in Syria.
Interest
Number three is the creation of a
Sunni Alliance against Iran: Turkey find itself with the Arab Sunni Countries in the Persian Gulf more and more isolated and powerless against Iran and its
Shia allies in Middle East. Iran now has a pro-Iranian government in
Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, and Iran is now active in
Yemen, Bahrain, and even in Saudi Arabia in helping the
Shia population of these countries and their struggle against the Sunni dominated governments. With the
West getting closer to Iran and ending sanction, Turkey and itself with the Arab Sunni Countries find themselves losing the region to Iran.
Despite the fact that Iran has a large Kurdish population and occupy what is known as
East Kurdistan, the
Iranian government has been more supportive of the Kurds in their recent fight against
ISIS in both iraq and Syria, and Turkey find itself more isolated on the
Kurdish issue also with Iran, for Turkey fear that Iran might tighten its relation with
Syrian Kurds and
Iraqi Kurds and together help the Kurds in Turkey, also a bigger fact is in play here: In Turkey there are more than 15 million
Alevi and Alawites, which are
Shia Muslims and are loyal to the Shia of Iran, once Iran win the war against Turkey in Syria, it can easily not only support the Kurds in Turkey, but also the Shia Alevi and Alawites.
