Minorca (traditional English spelling) or Menorca (/mɪˈnɔːrkə/; Catalan: Menorca [məˈnɔrkə]; Spanish: Menorca [meˈnorka]; from Latin: Insula Minor, later Minorica "smaller island") is one of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea belonging to Spain. Its name derives from its size, contrasting it with nearby Majorca.
Minorca has a population of approximately 94,383 (2010). It is located 39°47' to 40°00'N, 3°52' to 4°24'E. Its highest point, called El Toro or Monte Toro, is 358 metres (1,175 feet) above sea level.
The island is known for its collection of megalithic stone monuments: navetes, taules and talaiots, which speak of a very early prehistoric human activity. Some of the earliest culture on Minorca was influenced by other Mediterranean cultures, including the Greek Minoans of ancient Crete (see also Gymnesian Islands). For example, the use of inverted plastered timber columns at Knossos is thought to have influenced early peoples of Minorca in imitating this practice.

Menorca 2015 , the whole video recorded with GoPro during the summer 2015. This is a video of our days we've spent in small beach in Menorca near Ciutadella. You will see some of the most famous beaches as Macarella, Macaralleta, Turqueta, Sa Caleta, Blanca, Fornells, Caballeria, Morell... Also the cave called La cova d'en Xaroi in Cala en Porter. A quick walk arround Ciutadella, you will see the famous sandals, the tipical desser called "ensaimada" and the tipical meal called "caldereta". At the end, you will see our little fireworks in a quiet "cala" called "La vall" during night time near cala Morell. The video is pretty much us in Menorca swimming, cliff jumping, riding motorbike and having fun around the island. Hope you enjoy it Music: Comming Over (Filous Remix)
The Spanish Island of Menorca is located in the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the lesser-known Balearic Islands and a little off the tourism track which made it interesting from our point of view. Explorations reveal prehistoric ruins, burial caves, magnificent beaches, small towns, and the opportunity to experience local festivals in Ciutadella, the former capital city. Hello everybody and welcome to my Menorca Holiday Video! After spending a week in sunny Menorca, I decided to film the best bits and put them together for you. I hope you enjoy it! We stayed in the Hotel Sun connect Los Delfines, Which was a lovely hotel in the center of Cala'n Forcat. The beach and coves were only a short walk away and so it was a great hotel for families to stay in. With a short 2 minute walk you would have found yourself among the many bars and restaurants. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and so had a great holiday!

Menorca... The smaller sister of Majorca and more tranquil cousin to Ibiza, low key Menorca is the least well known of the Balearics, and yet it is home to as many beaches as both of the more familiar islands of the group. Designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1993, it is an island of unspoilt beauty, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the tranquillity and natural attractions. Horse riding, sea kayaking, hiking, cycling and sailing are just a few ways to coastline and interior beauty can be enjoyed. Menorca is an island of harbours, coves, watch towers, fortresses, prehistoric monuments and lighthouses and it’s possible to combine several in a single day on the small isle.
