Summary of Injury Statistics 2014/15 season

Each year the SGSA collates and publishes the number of reported injuries at all competitive league and cup games at football grounds in the Premier and Football League plus Wembley and the Millennium Stadium. Each club is asked to provide the total number of reported injuries, broken down by a number of specific causes.

 

 

Summary 

  • The number of reported spectator injuries for 2014/15 season was 1001, an 8% decrease from the 1088 reported in 2013/14. 
  • The reported overall injury ratio per spectator was one injury per 34,234 spectators. This represents an improvement on the 31,300 ratio for 2013/14.
  • The total number of injured spectators reported taken to hospital was 60, compared with 64 in the previous season.
  • Overall most injuries were minor and were treated by the sports ground medical team. The highest category, as in previous years, was injuries resulting from trips, slips and falls.
