Midsumma 2011

Midsumma, Melbourne's annual queer celebration festival ran from 15 January - 5 February and featured a huge range of events across dozens of different venues. This year we sponsored the Diamond & Gallagher 'Get Down and Brassy' show, a hilarious comedy cabaret act, with a time-machine theme. In return, we had a significant presence at the series of shows, and collectively patrons donated $900 to our cause.

VAC/GMHC also participated in Carnival Day, distributing free resources, including safe sex packs, and providing a free photo-booth service to visitors. We also took part in the annual Pride March as an organisation, to celebrate the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community.

Our long-term supporters, The Laird Hotel, also joined in the Midsumma festivities, by holding their annual 'Mooning' event, and raising an amazing $6000 for the David Williams Fund, a program of VAC/GMHC. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to staff and patrons at the Laird for their continued commitment to our work.
