Maneesh Sharma is an Indian film director and film story writer, who made his debut with Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) which won him Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director.
Born and brought up in Delhi, where he grew up in various parts of the city, including Pitampura. Maneesh did his schooling from Delhi Public School, R K Puram. Thereafter he did his graduation in English literature from Hans Raj College, Delhi University. At college, he was involved in the theatre society and later shot his debut film in 2010 there. After his graduation he went to California to study filmmaking at CalArts Before moving to Mumbai, he was also involved in theatre in Delhi and was a dancer in a local musical troupe.
While studying filmmaking, Maneesh worked as associate director for Trona (2004), an English-German student film in Los Angeles.
Two months after his return from the US, he got a break and started his Bollywood career as an associate or assistant director on a number of Yash Raj Films productions such as Fanaa (2006), Aaja Nachle (2007) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), before making his feature directing debut with Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), based on his own story.

Parineeti Chopra (born 22 October 1988) is an Indian actress who was introduced to Bollywood by director Maneesh Sharma who helped her in appearing in Hindi films. In 2011, she was signed by Aditya Chopra for a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films and made her screen debut in Maneesh Sharma's Ladies VS Ricky Bahl. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2012, she received critical and commercial success for Ishaqzaade.
Parineeti Chopra was born on 22 October 1988 in Ambala, Haryana, in a Punjabi family to Pawan Chopra and Reena Chopra. She is the cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra. Parineeti Chopra did her schooling from Convent of Jesus and Mary, Ambala. She later joined Manchester Business School, UK to study Finance and Economics. She went to Mumbai and joined as a Marketing & PR consultant at Yash Raj Films since 2009 until she auditioned for movie roles and bagged Ladies VS Ricky Bahl and Ishaqzaade.
