Francisco José Rodríguez Sr. (born January 7, 1982), nicknamed "Frankie" and "K-Rod," is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played for the Anaheim Angels / Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, and Milwaukee Brewers.
Rodriguez pitched for the Angels from 2002 to 2008, and the Mets from 2009 to mid-way through the 2011 season. He served as the closer for both teams. He then pitched for the Brewers until July 2013, mostly in a setup role, and for the Orioles for the rest of 2013 before returning to the Brewers for 2014.
Rodríguez holds the major league record for saves in a single season, with 62, set in 2008. He is a three-time league leader in saves (2005, 2006, and 2008) and a six-time All-Star.
Rodríguez signed as an undrafted amateur free agent in 1998. Originally a starting pitcher, Rodríguez moved to relief pitching in 2002 after elbow and shoulder injuries shortened his 2001 minor league season with the Lake Elsinore Storm. In 2002, he made his major league debut. At the time, he was the youngest pitcher in the American League. Because of the multiple injuries to the Angels bullpen, the club brought him up during the middle of September. He emerged as a postseason relief hero, winning five postseason games despite never having won a Major League game before. Although he threw a lively fastball, his sharp-breaking curveball was his most effective pitch.

Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league. A total of 30 teams now play in two divisions, the American League (AL) and National League (NL), with 15 teams in each. The AL and NL operated as separate legal entities from 1901 and 1876 respectively, until 2000, when they were merged into a single organization known as Major League Baseball. After cooperating but remaining legally separate entities since 1903, in 2000 the leagues merged into a single organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball. The organization also oversees minor league baseball leagues, which comprise about 240 teams affiliated with the major-league clubs. With the World Baseball Softball Confederation, MLB manages the international World Baseball Classic tournament.
Baseball's first professional team was founded in Cincinnati in 1869. The first few decades of professional baseball were characterized by rivalries between leagues and by players who often jumped from one team or league to another. The period before 1920 in baseball was known as the dead-ball era; players rarely hit home runs during this time. Baseball survived a conspiracy to fix the 1919 World Series, which came to be known as the Black Sox Scandal. The sport rose in popularity in the 1920s, and survived potential downturns during the Great Depression and World War II. Shortly after the war, baseball's color barrier was broken by Jackie Robinson.

Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.

K-Rod is having a great 2016 campaign so far this year for Detroit. Even though he's past his prime, he's still able to effectively pitch to batters and get outs consistently. He continues to climb up the all-time saves list.
K-rod's k-rod so not much to say other than the Jays getting him would push Cecil back to the set-up role and that's a good thing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: 1) Janji - Heroes Tonight (feat. New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez is facing more charges stemming from the August incident in which he allegedly hit his girlfriend's father. Queens Assistant District Attorney Scott Kessler said Rodriguez sent 56 text messages to his girlfriend, Dee-ain-ya Pena, who was under a protective order. Kessler expects to bring the additional charges in a hearing on October 7. Those charges would be on top of the third-degree assault and second-degree harassment charges Rodriguez already faces in the alleged incident. Rodriguez was arrested following an August 11 loss to Colorado at Citi Field, as the Venezuelan hurler allegedly hit Carlos Pena and was then taken into custody by police. He was released a day later without bail and the Mets subsequently issued a two-game suspension. Rodrigu...

Tell me 'bout your youth
Ah, just tell the truth
Was it nice and smooth
Or was it a lie
And when you were a child
Were you young and wild
Or just undefiled
Ready to cry
It should have been me
You should've believed in me
It's all in the way, you say
This doesn't happen every day
It doesn't happen every day
Living in denial
Have you lost your smile?
Well, it takes a while
Before you'll forgive
And what's that on your sleeve
Won't you tell me, please
We can make believe
Just for a while
