Having a day where I really realize how much music I'm not listening to because I am neither driving the car much at all, or spending time in a coffee shop writing. (and listening to a bunch of stuff to fill some of the gap)

This is the only research paper I’ve ever read with an abstract that made me go “awwwwww!”

Future horror anthologists, could you please mention at the top of your submission guidelines whether you’ve ever heard of ?

Because I was asked, I ran shipping numbers on a 750ml BBotE 2pk to TX. FedEx Express Saver, which would arrive in 6 days: $55.61 UPS 3Day Select, which would arrive in 5 days: $47.49 USPS Priority Mail, which would arrive in 3 days: $28.63 I understand why they want USPS dead.

Never, ever, ever enter or entertain a discussion premised upon your dehumanization. You deserve better than that. Put a high value on yourself and force the world to treat you as you deserve.

I hadn’t shaved since before lockdown (just used a trimmer occasionally to knock it down to stubble). Today was the day. 1810ish. Benjamin Marsden (stamps are very faint). This is the earliest style of “Magnum Bonum” razors out of Sheffield. Big steel does the job.

Went to the grocery store today and accidentally solved the Fermi paradox. It's built on the faulty assumption that there is intelligence. Intelligence is a narcissistic delusion. The Great Filter is that the delusion is unsustainable.

We treated "essential" workers who didn't show up in a model claiming we had "shut down" & don't show up in the considerations of the powers that be, like shit. They were treated as expendable. And more workers will be going forward. So long as we do that any shut down will fail.

Spent a portion of my afternoon trying to troubleshoot my smart trainer — a Kickr Snap. It consistently drops out at the same speed, (about 16.5mph). Got nowhere with it after exhausting all possible leads. Means Zwift isn’t usable. Dispiriting.

Figured I’d drink this bottle of Stone Old Guardian I’ve had hanging around for 11 years. It’s hoppy character has more forward, which is unfortunate, because I don’t really like hoppy beers.

No Walmart, Amazon, FedEx, Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joe's, Shipt, or Instacart today! Boycotting is easier than striking, but worthwhile in the context of strike support.

Because I play a red keyboard, I'll always be called a synth player, and because I'm asian, someone will always YouTube comment "me likey". These are the truths.

Never forget that time* Lawrence Alma-Tadema got so caught up in meticulously painting his reference that he painted the bald caps his models were wearing instead of painting the models as bald. (*1904, The Finding of Moses)

L’espirit de l’eschaton is that feeling you get when you think of the absolute perfect thing to say...20 seconds after the end of the universe.
