Arnold (Arnoul) of Soissons or Arnold or Arnulf of Oudenburg (ca 1040–1087) is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church, the patron saint of hop-pickers and Belgian brewers.
Arnold, born in Brabant, the son of a certain Fulbertus was first a career soldier before settling at the Benedictine St. Medard's Abbey, Soissons, France. He spent his first three years as a hermit, but later rose to be abbot of the monastery. His hagiography states that he tried to refuse this honor and flee—a standard literary trope (compare Jiménez de Cisneros)— but was forced by a wolf to return. He then became a priest and in 1080, bishop of Soissons, another honor that he sought to avoid. When his see was occupied by another bishop, rather than fighting, he took the opportunity to retire from public life, founding the Abbey of St. Peter in Oudenburg.
At the abbey, he began to brew beer, as essential in medieval life as water. He encouraged local peasants to drink beer, instead of water, due to its "gift of health." At the time of the Black Death epidemic, Arnold was an abbot in Oudenburg, Belgium. Rather than stand by while the local Christians drank water, he had them consume his alcoholic brews. Because of this, many people in his church survived the plague. During the process of brewing, the water was boiled and thus, unknown to all, freed of pathogens. This same story is also told of Arnulf or Arnold of Metz, another patron of brewers. There are many depictions of St. Arnold with a mashing rake in his hand, to identify him. He is honored in July with a parade in Brussels on the "Day of Beer."
Arnold were a three piece alternative rock band from London, England, formed in 1996, who released two albums on Creation Records.
The band comprised Phil Morris (lead vocals, drums), Mark Saxby (guitar, vocals) and Phil Payne (bass, vocals) and played guitar-based music influenced by the likes of Big Star, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and The Who. Originally members of the band Patio, they became Arnold after the former band's singer died, the new band named after Payne's dog.
They signed for Alan McGee's Creation Records in 1997, at a time when the label was riding high on the Britpop-fuelled success of Oasis, and stayed until the label's demise in 1999, releasing two albums, the first (The Barn Tapes) originally recorded in a barn in Kent as demos for the label, and the second (Hillside) much lauded by critics. They toured the United States in 1998 before returning to the UK to tour with Neil Finn followed by dates supporting Bernard Butler. They subsequently signed for McGee's next label, Poptones and were joined by Rob Arriss (guitar and keyboards) and Dave Hill (drums) before releasing the album Bahama in 2001.
This is a listing of characters from the Nickelodeon animated television series Hey Arnold! and Hey Arnold!: The Movie.
Arnold (voiced by Toran Caudell in season 1; Phillip Van Dyke in seasons 2–3; Spencer Klein in seasons 4–5; Alex D. Linz in season 5) is the nice, kind, optimistic nine-year-old protagonist and title character of the series. He is a dreamer and an idealist who always tries to see the best in people and do the right thing. Whenever he sees someone in trouble, especially Helga, Arnold goes out of his way to help them out, even if it is not sensible to do so. Arnold often acts as the stable center to those around him, whether he is around his "family" in his paternal grandparents' boarding house, or around his friends at school. He lives in Sunset Arms boarding house with his grandparents, Phil and Getrude.
Arnold has had two major crushes in the series: one with sixth-grader Ruth McDougal (through most of season 1), and one with a classmate named Lila Sawyer (introduced in season 2). However, his most catalytic relationship is with his classmate Helga Pataki. Helga is secretly in love with him, though to keep these feelings secret she bullies Arnold. Arnold is completely unaware of this fact for most of the series, other than the occasional hint from Helga and other classmates. Helga revealed her secret to Arnold during Hey Arnold!: The Movie, but Arnold gave Helga the opportunity to take back her confession, attributing it to "the heat of the moment". According to series creator Craig Bartlett, had the canceled "Jungle Movie" sequel been animated, Arnold would have returned Helga's feelings with a kiss of his own, with his best friend interrupting the moment. Arnold is friends with most of his fellow fourth-graders, with the best of which being Gerald Johanssen, whose friendship dates as far back as preschool.

Some characters are often only seen in one episode. So I thought I would highlight the ones that we're memorable and stood out in the one episode that they got to shine. Keep in mind this list was my personal opinion only. Enjoy. ^^
