Crystal (software)

CRYSTAL is a quantum chemistry ab initio program, designed primarily for calculations on crystals (3 dimensions), slabs (2 dimensions) and polymers (1 dimension) using translational symmetry, but it can also be used for single molecules. It is written by V.R. Saunders, R. Dovesi, C. Roetti, R. Orlando, C.M. Zicovich-Wilson, N.M. Harrison, K. Doll, B. Civalleri, I.J. Bush, Ph. D’Arco, and M. Llunell from Theoretical Chemistry Group at the University of Torino and the Computational Materials Science Group at the Daresbury Laboratory near Warrington in Cheshire, England. The current version is CRYSTAL14, released in June 2014. Earlier versions were CRYSTAL88, CRYSTAL92, CRYSTAL95, CRYSTAL98, CRYSTAL03, CRYSTAL06, and CRYSTAL09.

Alex Campbell

Alex is the Doctor's great grandson (the son of Susan Campbell) and features in the Eighth Doctor adventures. He is portrayed by Jake McGann.

He is initially wary of the Doctor due to the xenophobic atmosphere on Earth following the Dalek occupation. Despite this, he eventually accepts the Doctor but while he is impressed by the technology of the TARDIS he chooses not to travel with him as he wants to become an architect.

During the second Dalek invasion in the plays Lucie Miller and To The Death, Alex becomes a leader for the human resistance on Earth. He sacrifices himself to allow Lucie and Susan the opportunity to thwart the Dalek's plan.

Amy

Amy, portrayed by Ciara Janson, is a companion of the Fifth Doctor in the Key 2 Time series, which includes the plays The Judgement of Isskar, The Destroyer of Delights and The Chaos Pool.

Crystal, Minnesota

Crystal is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 22,151 at the 2010 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.88 square miles (15.23 km²), of which 5.78 square miles (14.97 km²) is land and 0.10 square miles (0.26 km²) is water.

Minnesota State Highway 100 and County Road 81 are two of the main routes in the city. Other routes include Douglas Drive North, 36th Avenue North, 42nd Avenue North, and Bass Lake Road.

Crystal Airport, a small general aviation field, is located within the city limits.

The city is bordered on the north by the city of Brooklyn Park, on the northeast by Brooklyn Center, on the east by Robbinsdale, on the south by Golden Valley, and on the west by New Hope.

Crystal has been awarded the "Minnesota Star City" designation for economic development.

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 22,151 people, 9,183 households, and 5,640 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,832.4 inhabitants per square mile (1,479.7/km²). There were 9,634 housing units at an average density of 1,666.8 per square mile (643.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 78.1% White, 10.5% African American, 0.7% Native American, 3.9% Asian, 3.0% from other races, and 3.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.5% of the population.

Nancy was a sloop launched in 1803 and wrecked on 18 April 1805 near Jervis Bay, Australia.

Nancy was a sloop of some 20 tons constructed on the Hawkesbury River, New South Wales by Kable & Co. It arrived in Sydney on its maiden voyage on 17 October 1803. On 18 April 1805, the Nancy commanded by Captain Demaria was just off Jervis Bay when a violent squall hit the area. The Nancy's mainsail split and the ship could make no leeway. Everything on board was washed overboard and then the ship struck a small sandy beach between two headlands. The ship promptly broke up with one crew member, Richard Wall, from Exeter, drowning. The remaining crew walked to Sydney, arriving on 1 May 1805.

Nancy is an American sitcom that aired on NBC during the 1970-1971 television season, with Renne Jarrett in the title role.

Synopsis

While Nancy Smith, daughter of the President of the United States, is vacationing in fictitious Center City, Iowa, she meets and marries veterinarian Adam Hudson (John Fink).

Celeste Holm appeared as Abby Townsend, the press secretary of the First Lady, Nancy's official chaperone. Robert F. Simon appeared as Everett McPherson, Dr. Hudson's uncle. William Bassett starred as Agent Turner of the United States Secret Service; Ernesto Macias was Agent Rodriguez; Frank Aletter played Tom Daily; and Eddie Applegate played local reporter Willie Maxwell. Nobody was cast as the President.

A Screen Gems Production, Nancy was a creation of producer Sidney Sheldon, who wrote every episode under various pseudonyms ["Mark Rowane", "Christopher Golato", "Allan Devon"].

Broadcast history

It aired from September 17, 1970, to January 7, 1971, on Thursday in the 9:30 Eastern timeslot between Ironside and The Dean Martin Show. The competition was another sitcom, The Odd Couple, on ABC, and the second half-hour of the CBS Thursday Night Movies.

Hermitage AOC

Hermitage is a French wine Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the northern Rhône wine region of France south of Lyon. It produces mostly red wine from the Syrah grape; however, small quantities of white wine are also produced from Roussane and Marsanne grapes. The hill is seen by some as the spiritual home of the Syrah grape variety.

History

According to legend, the Knight Gaspard de Stérimberg returned home wounded in 1224 from the Albigensian Crusade and was given permission by the Queen of France to build a small refuge to recover in, where he remained living as a hermit (ermite in French). The chapel on top was built in honor of Saint Christopher and today is owned by the negociant Paul Jaboulet Âiné. Louis XIII made the wine a wine of the court after being offered a glass during a visit to the region in 1642. Louis XIV presented King Charles II of England with 200 casks of fine wine including examples from Hermitage, Champagne and Burgundy. The Romanovs also imported the wine. In the 19th century wines from Bordeaux were often "hermitaged" (hermitagé, that is, blended with Hermitage) and could fetch higher prices as a result. The appellation was established in its modern form in 1937.
