To raise awareness, Kevin has now set up his YouTube Channel 'LionWhispererTV'. The channel is all about raising awareness about not only the declining numbers of lions, but also how this rapid decrease is happening. By watching these videos, you are directly contributing to our scheme of land acquisition.
Kevin captures the majority of his footage on GoPro cameras, allowing the viewer to get as close as possible to the lions.
By doing this, Kevin hopes to give people an insight into the lives of these beautiful creatures and to let them see just what they can do to help. You can nearly touch them.

One of the most talked about superlative spinners in South Africa, Raymond Bongani Makhubo, better known as RBM to his fans and spinning cars nation - has passed on (5th of Sept 2013), due to unknown illness. RBM was a key instrumental for promoting and entertaining spinning in the community of Soshanguve, situated in the Southern of Pretoria. Knysna (
/ˈnaɪznə/; probably from a Khoikhoi word meaning "ferns") is a town with 76,431 inhabitants in the Western Cape Province of South Africa and is part of the Garden Route. It lies 34 degrees south of the equator, and is 72 kilometres east from the town of George on the N2 highway, and 25 kilometres west of Plettenberg Bay on the same road.
A hamlet, Melville, appeared on the lakeshore in 1825, and was followed by another, Newhaven, in 1846. Knysna town, a 1882 amalgamation of these hamlets, was named after the Knysna River.
Knysna's port could provide shelter for up to 50 ships, and the region's abundant timber was exported from this bay as early as 1787. Landowner George Rex, who landed at the Cape in 1796, played a significant role in the town's early development and is considered the town's founder. Being a difficult port to enter, a harbour pilot was employed to assist large vessels. One of the better-known pilots was John Benn, originally a shipwright from Mossel Bay, appointed as pilot in 1868 and whose name is borne by a double-deck pleasure cruiser currently operating as a tourist attraction on the Knysna lagoon. The port was officially closed in 1954.

The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary's mission is to provide a self-sustaining African carnivore sanctuary for the purposes of wild species preservation through education, awareness and funding, especially pertaining to the rapid decline of large carnivores in Africa due to habitat loss, human-predator conflict, unscrupulous hunting, disease and their illegal trade.
To raise awareness, Kevin has now set up his YouTube Channel 'LionWhispererTV'. The channel is all about raising awareness about not only the declining numbers of lions, but also how this rapid decrease is happening. By watching these videos, you are directly contributing to our scheme of land acquisition.
Kevin captures the majority of his footage on GoPro cameras, allowing the viewer to get as close as possible to the lions.

First strolling around Main Road, visiting Knysna Tourism and the Knysna Mall. Many kinds of Cape flora have found their way to Europe, such as the geranium, lily and gladioli. The park contains an abundance of cacti of all shapes and sizes and an amazing 600 varieties of heather. Following the coastline is the narrow footpath of the Waterfall Trail, an impressive route that leaves an indelible impression. This section of the Cape region is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines. For some time, Tolkien lived in Knysna and while visiting this region was inspired to write his world famous novel, The Lord of the Rings. The ancient forests captivate far less poetically ambitious people than Tolkien as each visitor becomes totally immersed in this green fairytale world and soon nurtures a special respect for it. Here we were taken in a trailer pulled by a tractor up through the reserve with full narration from the guide about the flora and fauna. We then had a good walk back down stopping at several viewing points along the way. The sea caves and views across the lagoon back to knysna among them.
We then made our way to the restaurant where a lovely buffet lunch was waiting.
Featherbed Private Nature Reserve offers a pristine nature and dining experience at the gateway to the sea on Knysna Lagoon, Garden Route, South Africa. Associated attractions include Paddle Steamer and Lagoon Cruises, Sailing adventures and superb meals at a venue on the waters edge.
The unspoiled Western Head of Knysna is one of two sentinels that stand between the tranquil estuary water of the lagoon and the surge of sea water from the Indian Ocean. Home to the famous Knysna Loerie, the rare Knysna Sea Horse and the Blue Duiker. Featherbed Private Nature Reserve occupies 150 hectares on the Western Head.
