Kramer vs. Kramer
Kramer vs. Kramer is a 1979 American drama film adapted by Robert Benton from the novel by Avery Corman, and directed by Benton. The film tells the story of a married couple's divorce and its impact on everyone involved, including the couple's young son. It received five Academy Awards at the 52nd Academy Awards in 1980, in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.
Plot
Ted Kramer (Dustin Hoffman) is a workaholic advertising executive who has just been assigned a new and very important account. Ted arrives home and shares the good news with his wife Joanna (Meryl Streep) only to find that she is leaving him. Saying that she needs to find herself, she leaves Ted to raise their son Billy (Justin Henry) by himself. Ted and Billy initially resent one another as Ted no longer has time to carry his increased workload and Billy misses his mother's love and attention. After months of unrest, Ted and Billy learn to cope and gradually bond as father and son.

Plot: A man is accused of killing a policeman in his art gallery and his court case is getting closer to conviction. The judge presiding over the case starts getting phone calls that tell her to set the process to a direction which would release the gallery owner and is informed that she is being closely followed and can't tell anyone of her situation. She resists at first, but then she witnesses the kidnap of her daughter and is told that in exchange for her daughter, she must do what she was told to do. Despite the constraints, she quietly begins to investigate with a police detective and both discover that there's decidedly more to it than just a simple demand for the gallery owner's release, while at the same time her daughter's kidnappers' pressure on her steadily increases.

Devotion investigates the extremely complex and heirarchical relationships among a committed group of Japanese filmmakers who dedicated up to 30 years of their lives making films for one man-Ogawa Shinsuke. Members of Ogawa Pro filmed the student movement of the late 60's; the fight by farmers to save their land from government confiscaton for the Narita airport at Sanrizuka; and the village life of a small farming community, Magino Village, in northern Japan. These heartbreaking and sometimes funny stories have never been told on film before. Rare footage, stills, and diaries with interviews with Oshima Nagisa, Hara Kazuo and Robert Kramer make this historical inquiry visually exciting as well as valuable.

Devotion investigates the extremely complex and heirarchical relationships among a committed group of Japanese filmmakers who dedicated up to 30 years of their lives making films for one man-Ogawa Shinsuke.
Members of Ogawa Pro filmed the student movement of the late 60's; the fight by farmers to save their land from government confiscaton for the Narita airport at Sanrizuka; and the village life of a small farming community, Magino Village, in northern Japan.
These heartbreaking and sometimes funny stories have never been told on film before. Rare footage, stills, and diaries with interviews with Oshima Nagisa, Hara Kazuo and Robert Kramer make this historical inquiry visually exciting as well as valuable.

Gerald B. Greenberg, ACE often credited as Jerry Greenberg, is an American film editor who received both the Academy Award for Film Editing and the BAFTA Award for Best Editing for the film "The French Connection" (1971). He received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for "Kramer vs. Kramer" (1979) and "Apocalypse Now" (1979).
Bill Pankow, ACE is an American film editor with more than 32 film credits dating from 1982. He won the Seattle Film Critics Award for Best Editing in 2002 for his work on "Femme Fatale." "Femme Fatale" was one of the nine films that Pankow has edited with director Brian De Palma commencing with "Body Double" in 1984.
About the moderator: Bobbie O’Steen is a New York-based writer and film historian, dedicated to sharing the editor’s invisible art with students, professionals, and the movie-going public. She is an Emmy-nominated film editor and the author of two acclaimed books about editing entitled "Cut to the Chase" and "The Invisible Cut." O’Steen is currently partnered with Manhattan Edit Workshop for her series “Inside the Cutting Room," and she also moderates panels for American Cinema Editors’ EditFest. "Kramer vs. Kramer" is a 1979 American drama film adapted by Robert Benton from the novel by Avery Corman, and directed by Benton. The film tells the story of a married couple's divorce and its impact on everyone involved, including the couple's young son. It received five Academy Awards at the 52nd Academy Awards in 1980, in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.
"Sight Sound and Story" is an annual event presented by Manhattan Edit Workshop that brings audiences "behind the scenes" with legends of visual storytelling. Each year the one day summit brings together a collection of diverse and intriguing high-profile speaker series to discuss the evolving world of post-production.

USMC s.s. is a covert Unacknowledged Special Access Program (or USAP) signed into law as a legal and covert branch of the US military in 1953 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. USMC s.s. was mandated by President Eisenhower through the USMC s.s. special code to meet the exopolitical questions of EBE's,(Extra Terrestrial Biological entities) and ETV's (Extra Terrestrial Vehicles); to assist in assessing diplomatic opportunities and military threats and advise the MJ-12 committee and special study groups (SSG's) with intelligence from a fully staffed and operational military intelligence machine, and respond to their requests for specially trained military assistance in all matters extra terrestrial. On the occasion of the release of Middle East scholar Martin Kramer's new book, "The War on Error: Israel, Islam, and the Middle East," the Institute hosted a lively discussion on the nature of proof and bias with the author and historians Benny Morris and Hussein Ibish. The October 21, 2016 event was moderated by Executive Director Robert Satloff.
Martin Kramer is the author of the landmark Washington Institute study Ivory Towers on Sand: The Failure of Middle Eastern Studies in America, published exactly fifteen years ago. Since then, he has presided over the formation of Israel's first and only liberal arts college, Shalem College, where he served as founding president and continues to teach modern Middle Eastern history. The Institute's longtime Wexler-Fromer Fellow, he had a twenty-five-year career at Tel Aviv University, where he directed the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies.
Benny Morris is the Goldman Visiting Israeli Professor in Georgetown University's Department of Government and professor of history at Ben-Gurion University. He is the author of ten books, including The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem and 1948: A History of the First Arab-Israeli War, which received the National Jewish Book Award. He is currently completing a book on Turkey's relations with its Christian minorities in the late Ottoman and early Republican periods. His exchange with Martin Kramer on events in Lydda in July 1948 appears in The War on Error.
Hussein Ibish is a senior resident scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, a weekly columnist for the National (UAE), and a monthly contributing writer for the International New York Times. He has appeared three times on Foreign Policy's "Twitterati 100," which lists the top "must-follow" Twitter feeds on foreign policy. The author of What's Wrong with the One-State Agenda? and other books, he holds a doctorate in comparative literature from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

I am till the day I die, a captain of the United States Marine Corps, special section. USMC s.s. is a covert Unacknowledged Special Access Program (or USAP) signed into law as a legal and covert branch of the US military in 1953 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. USMC s.s. was mandated by President Eisenhower through the USMC s.s. special code to meet the exopolitical questions of EBE's,(Extra Terrestrial Biological entities) and ETV's (Extra Terrestrial Vehicles); to assist in assessing diplomatic opportunities and military threats and advise the MJ-12 committee and special study groups (SSG's) with intelligence from a fully staffed and operational military intelligence machine, and respond to their requests for specially trained military assistance in all matters extra terrestrial. When I agreed to speak publicly, my security clearance was raised to a Blue/Gold-13, which has granted me full access to USMC s.s. intelligence files, and weekly briefings by Brigadier General Julian Smythe, personally.

Had an awesome time presenting at the world famous California Theatre in San Jose!
This was the same stage Steve Jobs announced the iPod In October of 2004.... It was an honor to be part of a great lineup that included Robert Scoble Jane McGonigal Bryan Kramer Jeremiah Owyang @britopian @sfcitycio founder of @Octlus rift and many more...
As a tech geek and believer in the power of collaboration and change it was exciting to have the chance to be on stage 5 times talking about 5 unique technologies and trends.
First off I got to interview Jan, a Stanford Professor who mentored Evan Snapchat founder and founded the company Cameo live streaming... Then moderated a 1 hour panel of #iot experts about the need for open standards and open source to drive innovation in the space!
The next day I presented (w/o my slides as they didn't load) about the impact of live streaming on business and how it's impacting millennial marketing.
Followed that up with a fireside chat with the CIO of San Francisco about digital disruption and how he managed government obstacles in arguably the most innovative city in the USA.
Finally I got to close out the event with my #ThinkLikeAFan keynote highlighting the change in mindset & philosophy required to embrace the needs of our realtime, mobile enabled, live streaming world!

The Shark is Still Working is a feature-length documentary film on the impact and legacy of the 1975 Steven Spielberg blockbuster film Jaws. It features interviews with a range of cast and crew from the film. It is narrated by Roy Scheider and dedicated to Peter Benchley.
The documentary was produced by Jaws fans over a seven-year period, building on Laurent Bouzereau's 1995 documentary, The Making of Jaws, that has been included on some laserdisc and DVD releases. Throughout other documentaries over the years, such as Bouzereau's and the BBC's 1997 documentary In the Teeth of Jaws, actor Richard Dreyfuss has recounted tales about the troubled production of Jaws and the quote “The shark is NOT working” which Dreyfuss would hear constantly from members of the crew. Eventually, upon successful attempts to fix the malfunctioning sea monster, Dreyfuss would regularly hear the quote “The shark is working."
Universal Studios announced that The Shark Is Still Working documentary would be included as a special feature on the Blu-ray edition of Jaws.

We hear so much about child stars who grow up to become awful adults with tragic lives. Justin Henry is the exact opposite: A child star who grew up to be a terrific young man. When I interviewed Justin, on my Award Winning Cable Television Show, RUSSEL HARVEY ALMOST LIVE, he was a student at Skidmore College. polite, focused and intelligent. This was Justin's first in-depth television interview. Het resultaat is een prachtige reeks portretten die het Fotomuseum Den Haag in haar eerste museale solotentoonstelling presenteert en die opent op 19 maart.

Members of Ogawa Pro filmed the student movement of the late 60's; the fight by farmers to save their land from government confiscaton for the Narita airport at Sanrizuka; and the village life of a small farming community, Magino Village, in northern Japan.
These heartbreaking and sometimes funny stories have never been told on film before. Rare footage, stills, and diaries with interviews with Oshima Nagisa, Hara Kazuo and Robert Kramer make this historical inquiry visually exciting as well as valuable.

Gerald B. Greenberg, ACE often credited as Jerry Greenberg, is an American film editor who received both the Academy Award for Film Editing and the BAFTA Award for Best Editing for the film "The French Connection" (1971). He received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for "Kramer vs. Kramer" (1979) and "Apocalypse Now" (1979).
Bill Pankow, ACE is an American film editor with more than 32 film credits dating from 1982. He won the Seattle Film Critics Award for Best Editing in 2002 for his work on "Femme Fatale." "Femme Fatale" was one of the nine films that Pankow has edited with director Brian De Palma commencing with "Body Double" in 1984.
About the moderator: Bobbie O’Steen is a New York-based writer and film historian, dedicated to sharing the editor’s invisible art with students, professionals, and the movie-going public. She is an Emmy-nominated film editor and the author of two acclaimed books about editing entitled "Cut to the Chase" and "The Invisible Cut." O’Steen is currently partnered with Manhattan Edit Workshop for her series “Inside the Cutting Room," and she also moderates panels for American Cinema Editors’ EditFest. "Kramer vs. Kramer" is a 1979 American drama film adapted by Robert Benton from the novel by Avery Corman, and directed by Benton. The film tells the story of a married couple's divorce and its impact on everyone involved, including the couple's young son. It received five Academy Awards at the 52nd Academy Awards in 1980, in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.
"Sight Sound and Story" is an annual event presented by Manhattan Edit Workshop that brings audiences "behind the scenes" with legends of visual storytelling. Each year the one day summit brings together a collection of diverse and intriguing high-profile speaker series to discuss the evolving world of post-production.
Panels topics include the art and processes of editing film & television, exploring ground-breaking interactive media, experiencing the magic of feature sound design, taking a look at the vital roles of the VFX artist, and deconstructing key scenes from fiction and documentary favorites
