This is an airport / tour review of the inside and outside of Frankfurt Airport (FRA), located in Germany. This airport footage is of a transfer flight and should give the viewer an idea of what it is like to arrive at Frankfurt Airport on a European flight, and give the viewer an idea of how it is to transfer at Frankfurt area (arrive on one flight and then how to find and get to a connection flight).
This airport tour begins with our disembarkation onto the tarmac at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). We have just arrived on a flight from an EU country and will be going to another gate in Frankfurt Airport´s Terminal 1 building to board our next flight to another EU country. From the aircraft we board a bus which takes us on a long ride through the Airport to our Terminal Building (Terminal 1), The drive through the airport gives you, the viewer, an idea of just how large this German Airport (Lufthansa Hub) actually is. Once we arrive at the terminal building, we quickly make our way to the gate information screen to see from which gate we will be boarding our flight (which in our case is to Copenhagen Airport). Our gate is A7, so we then follow our on foot walk through the beautiful Terminal 1 building, following the signs all the way in the direction of our Gate. Our flight is due to begin boarding soon, hence we do not have much time to stop and make use of the nice looking coffee shops or to do some Duty Free Shopping at the multiple brand names stores located in this Terminal. We easily follow the signs to our gate. Information is very effective at Frankfurt Airport, and we found it to be a very easy airport to do a flight transfer (transit / connection flight). Once we find our departure gate we again have to go downstairs into the "cellar" as our flight will once again be a tarmac boarding, which means we will once again be driven from the gate to the aircraft by bus. We call the gate area for our flight "the cellar" as this area almost id´s a cellar with no natural light located under the Terminal 1 building. The area is dull and gloomy and Frankfurt Airport should do something to make the interior of this departure area more inviting to passengers... Once our flight begins boarding the viewer is again taken on a bus drive through Frankfurt Airport to our waiting aircraft...

This airport tour / review is filmed at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and includes footage from our Lufthansa Arrival, the transit bus that transferred us to the Airports terminal, a walk through the Terminal 1 building, a bus ride to our connection SAS flight.

Enjoy this huge variety of aircraft operating at Frankfurt Airport. This rainy day left the runways soaked, giving an awesome spray effect upon takeoff and landing! I didn't have a tripod since I went spotting during a long connection meaning I couldn't get my bag. I still think I did a pretty good job under the circumstances.

Run by transport company Fraport, Frankfurt Airport is by far the busiest airport by passenger traffic in Germany, the third busiest in Europe (after London Heathrow Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport) and the ninth busiest worldwide in 2011. Passenger traffic at Frankfurt Airport in 2011 was 56.4 million. As of winter 2011/2012, Frankfurt Airport serves the most international destinations in the world, serving 275 destinations in 111 countries and is the busiest airport in Europe by cargo traffic. The southern side of the airport ground was home to the Rhein-Main Air Base, which was a major air base for the United States from 1947 until 2005, when the air base was closed and the property was acquired by Fraport.
The airport is centrally located in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region, Germany's second-largest metropolitan region, which itself has a central location in the densely populated region of the west-central European megalopolis. Thereby, along with a strong rail and motorway connection, the airport serves as a major transportation hub to the greater region, less than two hours by ground to Cologne, the Ruhr Area, and Stuttgart.

The Easy to Use German Trains: Frankfurt Airport to Cochem
http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Trains to many European destination whoosh into Frankfurt Airport from a dedicated train station on premises. We purchased tickets in advance on the Bahn.de website though tickets can be purchased at the airport train station. The Rhine/Mosel area is only a two-hour ride from the airport but needed two train transfers; one in Mainz, the second in Koblenz with our final destination today, Cochem on the Mosel. This is an airport / tour review of the inside and outside of Frankfurt Airport (FRA), located in Germany. This airport footage is of a transfer flight and should give the viewer an idea of what it is like to arrive at Frankfurt Airport on a European flight, and give the viewer an idea of how it is to transfer at Frankfurt area (arrive on one flight and then how to find and get to a connection flight).
This airport tour begins with our disembarkation onto the tarmac at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). We have just arrived on a flight from an EU country and will be going to another gate in Frankfurt Airport´s Terminal 1 building to board our next flight to another EU country. From the aircraft we board a bus which takes us on a long ride through the Airport to our Terminal Building (Terminal 1), The drive through the airport gives you, the viewer, an idea of just how large this German Airport (Lufthansa Hub) actually is. Once we arrive at the terminal building, we quickly make our way to the gate information screen to see from which gate we will be boarding our flight (which in our case is to Copenhagen Airport). Our gate is A7, so we then follow our on foot walk through the beautiful Terminal 1 building, following the signs all the way in the direction of our Gate. Our flight is due to begin boarding soon, hence we do not have much time to stop and make use of the nice looking coffee shops or to do some Duty Free Shopping at the multiple brand names stores located in this Terminal. We easily follow the signs to our gate. Information is very effective at Frankfurt Airport, and we found it to be a very easy airport to do a flight transfer (transit / connection flight). Once we find our departure gate we again have to go downstairs into the "cellar" as our flight will once again be a tarmac boarding, which means we will once again be driven from the gate to the aircraft by bus. We call the gate area for our flight "the cellar" as this area almost id´s a cellar with no natural light located under the Terminal 1 building. The area is dull and gloomy and Frankfurt Airport should do something to make the interior of this departure area more inviting to passengers... Once our flight begins boarding the viewer is again taken on a bus drive through Frankfurt Airport to our waiting aircraft...

Enjoy this huge variety of aircraft operating at Frankfurt Airport. This rainy day left the runways soaked, giving an awesome spray effect upon takeoff and landing! I didn't have a tripod since I went spotting during a long connection meaning I couldn't get my bag. I still think I did a pretty good job under the circumstances.

Trains to many European destination whoosh into Frankfurt Airport from a dedicated train station on premises. We purchased tickets in advance on the Bahn.de website though tickets can be purchased at the airport train station.
The Rhine/Mosel area is only a two-hour ride from the airport but needed two train transfers; one in Mainz, the second in Koblenz with our final destination today, Cochem on the Mosel. Easy and don't be intimidated by the thought of training in Europe and come with us as we visit the UNESCO Middle Rhine region...

FRANKFURT IN ONE DAY
Arriving at Frankfurt International Airport we faced a bit of dilemma. With close to eight hours to kill before our flight from Frankfurt to Brisbane via Abu Dhabi and Singapore, we had to decide between hanging out at the airport and getting online work done or going into the city to for some quick one day whirlwind tour of the city. It wasn't long before we made the decision to head into town. Frankfurt, known locally as Frankfurt am Main, is the business and financial centre of Germany; however, I hadn't heard of many people visiting this city as opposed to using it as a mere transportation hub to get to more popular tourists destinations such as Berlin, Heidelberg or Hamburg. With close to eight hours to kill before our flight from Frankfurt to Brisbane via Abu Dhabi and Singapore, we had to decide between hanging out at the airport and getting online work done or going into the city to for some quick one day whirlwind tour of the city.
It wasn't long before we made the decision to head into town. Frankfurt, known locally as Frankfurt am Main, is the business and financial centre of Germany; however, I hadn't heard of many people visiting this city as opposed to using it as a mere transportation hub to get to more popular tourists destinations such as Berlin, Heidelberg or Hamburg.
With very few preconceived exceptions we immediately started to be won over by the charm of the city center as we ventured past the futuristic avant-garde skyscrapers to Römer square.
We couldn't help but notice the contrast of wealthy businessmen scurrying about in relation to relaxed hipster hangouts along the River Main.
Getting outside of the financial hub of the city allowed us to experience a quieter pace of life where many well maintained older buildings displaced futuristic modern ones.
One of our favorite experiences was visiting many of the green escapes where the hustle and bustle gave way to ponds, nature trails and geese.
Some of the top highlights of our afternoon stroll included visiting Römer square, various museums, the River Main, Römerberg, Alte Nikolaikirche, Saint Bartholomeus' Cathedral, Römerplatz and Hauptwache.
Overall, it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon as opposed to being cooped up in the airport waiting hours on end for our flight.
This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city.
That pretty much wraps up our little visit to Frankfurt. We spent maybe three or four hours just walking around and it was really nice to just see the city without much of an agenda.
I came here with quite low expectations to be perfectly honest. I had heard more or less this is just a financial hub but it ended up being quite charming here in Frankfurt and I'm definitely going to miss Germany. I've had a wonderful time traveling around the country.

Recently we had the opportunity to visit Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme resort in all of Europe.
This was the perfect opportunity for us to rekindle our childhood passion for rides. With over eleven different roller coasters alone we quickly realized we had never been to such a big theme park.
What we found cool was that the theme park was divided into different European countries. If you can't visit all of Europe going to Europa Park is like getting little slivers of it all.
Accommodating up to 50,000 guests per day, we were fortunate we didn't come during peak season; however, it was still crowded.
Overall, the weather was perfect, the rides were fun and it is an experience we won't forget anytime soon.

Germany was a country we fell in love with. Having spent a lot of time in SE Asia, we felt the need for a change of pace and Germany was just that. From urban hubs like Berlin to hidden gems like Freiburg, Germany offers a lot for those willing to explore and dig a little deeper.

Recently we had the opportunity to visit Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme resort in all of Europe.
This was the perfect opportunity for us to rekindle our childhood passion for rides. With over eleven different roller coasters alone we quickly realized we had never been to such a big theme park.
What we found cool was that the theme park was divided into different European countries. If you can't visit all of Europe going to Europa Park is like getting little slivers of it all.
Accommodating up to 50,000 guests per day, we were fortunate we didn't come during peak season; however, it was still crowded.
Overall, the weather was perfect, the rides were fun and it is an experience we won't forget anytime soon.
This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city.
