Hauled by 20038 Krishnarajapuram (KJM) WDP- 4 (Ex. UBL), the 11029 Mumbai C.S.T. (CSTM)- Kolhapur C.S.M.T. (KOP) KOYNA Express departs from pl- 8 of Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus bang on time. On the adjacent platform, the empty rake of 12702 Hyderabad Deccan Nampally (HYB)- Mumbai C.S.T. (CSTM) HUSSAIN SAGAR Superfast is spotted, which was waiting for its turn to get shunted to the yard by 36259 CLA (Kurla) WDS- 6AD. As we clear the points, we also cross a few trains, a WCAM- 3, and 16504 ED WDM- 3A. Meanwhile, we accelerate while crossing the suburban stations, and spot numerous rakes of various trains standing in the yards and the coaching yards, among which, the most prominent being a WCAM- 3 coupled 17057/ 17058 Secunderabad (SC)- Mumbai C.S.T. (CSTM) DEVAGIRI Express.
Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus:
Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), formerly Victoria Terminus (VT), is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an historic railway station in Mumbai, India which serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways. Designed by Frederick William Stevens with influences from Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture and traditional Mughal buildings, the station was built in 1887 in the Bori Bunder area of Bombay to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The new railway station was built on the location of the Bori Bunder Station. The station's name was changed to its present one in March 1996 and it is now known simply as CST (or VT/CSTM).
Bori Bunder (alternatively "Bori Bandar") was one of the areas along the Eastern shore line of Mumbai, India which was used as a storehouse for goods imported and exported from Mumbai. In the area's name, 'Bori' means sack and 'Bandar' means port or haven (in Persian); So Bori Bunder literally means a place where sacks are stored. In the 1850s, the Great Indian Peninsular Railway built its railway terminus in this area and the station took its name as Bori Bunder. On 16 April 1853 the Great Indian Peninsula Railway operated the historic first passenger train in India from Bori Bunder to Thane covering a distance of 34 km (21 mi), formally heralding the birth of the Indian Railways. The train between Bori Bunder and Thane was 57 minutes it was a distance of 35 km (22 mi) apart.

Almost bang on time running, 12261 Mumbai CST [CSTM] - Howrah [HWH] Duronto Express led by its typical and customary link KYN WCAM-3 #21938 honks, gallops and scares the people and a "White Bird" (as seen flying infront of the Loco in the video) raising a Dust Storm and attacks suddenly through the Busy Junction of Dadar Jn. in the Mumbai suburbs on a beautiful winter afternoon.
Location : Dadar [DR] on the Mumbai CST - Kalyan Route of Central Railway [CR].

MILKY WHITE MONSTER AJNI P7 #30267 honour to enter CSTM first time with before time running 12290 Nagpur Duronto Express..
MUMBAI: The conversion from 1500-volt direct current (DC) to 25,000-volt alternating current (AC) traction between CST and Thane was completed at 5.37am. The main line suburban and long distance trains will now be running only on AC traction.
A CR official said, "This is the transition phase and there could be slight delays in train services due to the speed restrictions at three places initially. However, the AC traction will bring with it several benefits." The speed restrictions are imposed as clearance between the roof of the rake and the OHE as well as the OHE and base of bridge was inadequate, sources said.

Duronto Express
Duronto Express is a category of long-distance non stop trains run by the Indian Railways. These trains do not have any ticketing stops between the origin and the destination ."Duronto" means "ends at far flung destination" in Bengali language. These trains' coaches have characteristic yellow-green livery. Duronto Express services connect the several metros and major state capitals of India. These trains are faster than or as fast as Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains.
History
The Government of India's Ministry of Railways (India) has been trying to introduce high-speed rail in India. In 2007, the ministry chose the 500-kilometre stretch between Delhi and Amritsar for a pre-feasibility study. On 19 January 2009, Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee, said that the ministry was in the process of appointing global consultants for introducing the high-speed trains on certain routes. Besides the Delhi-Amritsar route, Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Hyderabad-Dornakal-Vijaywada-Chennai, Chennai-Bangalore-Coimbatore-Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram and Howrah-Haldia. But, this High Speed rail service for India is expected to be completed on a long run.

Bori Bunder (alternatively "Bori Bandar") was one of the areas along the Eastern shore line of Mumbai, India.
Background
This place was used as a storehouse for goods imported and exported from Mumbai. In the native slang, 'Bori' mean sack and 'Bandar' means Bhandaar or store; Bandar also means port; So Bori Bunder literally means a place where sacks are stored.
Transport
In the 1850s, the Great Indian Peninsular Railway built its railway terminus in this area and the station took its name as Bori Bunder.

Punjab Mail
The 12137/12138 Punjab Mail is a Superfast express train of Indian Railways - Central Railway zone that runs between Mumbai and Ferozpur in India. It operates as train number 12137 from Mumbai CST to Ferozpur and as train number 12138 in the reverse direction.
It is 1 of 2 daily trains that connect Mumbai and Firozpur, the other being the Ferozpur Janata Express.
History
The inaugural run of the Punjab Mail is thought to have taken place on 1 June 1912. Then known as The Punjab Limited, the train initially ran from Ballard Pier to Peshawar, taking British officers, civil servants, and their families directly from their ships to Delhi and the North-West frontier of British India.
In 1914, the originating station was moved to Victoria Terminus, and after the partition of India in 1947, the train's terminus was brought back to Firozpur on the India-Pakistan border.

Date taken: March 2014 Camcorder: SONY DCR SX45E Hauled by 20038 Krishnarajapuram (KJM) WDP- 4 (Ex. UBL), the 11029 Mumbai C.S.T. (CSTM)- Kolhapur C.S.M.T. (KOP) KOYNA Express departs from pl- 8 of Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus bang on time. On the adjacent platform, the empty rake of 12702 Hyderabad Deccan Nampally (HYB)- Mumbai C.S.T. (CSTM) HUSSAIN SAGAR Superfast is spotted, which was waiting for its turn to get shunted to the yard by 36259 CLA (Kurla) WDS- 6AD. As we clear the points, we also cross a few trains, a WCAM- 3, and 16504 ED WDM- 3A. Meanwhile, we accelerate while crossing the suburban stations, and spot numerous rakes of various trains standing in the yards and the coaching yards, among which, the most prominent being a WCAM- 3 coupled 17057/ 17058 Secunderabad (SC)...

FIRST TIME WAP7 ENTER CSTM WITH DURONTO AFTER AC CONVERSION
MILKY WHITE MONSTER AJNI P7 #30267 honour to enter CSTM first time with before time running 12290 Nagpur Duronto Express.. MUMBAI: The conversion from 1500-volt direct current (DC) to 25,000-volt alternating current (AC) traction between CST and Thane was completed at 5.37am. The main line suburban and long distance trains will now be running only on AC traction. A CR official said, "This is the transition phase and there could be slight delays in train services due to the speed restrictions at three places initially. However, the AC traction will bring with it several benefits." The speed restrictions are imposed as clearance between the roof of the rake and the OHE as well as the OHE and base of bridge was inadequate, sources said.

Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus:
Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), formerly Victoria Terminus (VT), is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an historic railway station in Mumbai, India which serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways. Designed by Frederick William Stevens with influences from Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture and traditional Mughal buildings, the station was built in 1887 in the Bori Bunder area of Bombay to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The new railway station was built on the location of the Bori Bunder Station. The station's name was changed to its present one in March 1996 and it is now known simply as CST (or VT/CSTM).
Bori Bunder (alternatively "Bori Bandar") was one of the areas along the Eastern shore line of Mumbai, India which was used as a storehouse for goods imported and exported from Mumbai. In the area's name, 'Bori' means sack and 'Bandar' means port or haven (in Persian); So Bori Bunder literally means a place where sacks are stored. In the 1850s, the Great Indian Peninsular Railway built its railway terminus in this area and the station took its name as Bori Bunder. On 16 April 1853 the Great Indian Peninsula Railway operated the historic first passenger train in India from Bori Bunder to Thane covering a distance of 34 km (21 mi), formally heralding the birth of the Indian Railways. The train between Bori Bunder and Thane was 57 minutes it was a distance of 35 km (22 mi) apart.
