Mohali flyover work may start from Apr 15

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was expected to start the construction of 5-km long flyover from Phase VI to Khanpur in Kharar from April 15.

Mohali: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was expected to start the construction of 5-km long flyover from Phase VI to Khanpur in Kharar from April 15.
NHAI project director O C Mathur told TOI, "The survey for the construction has started. Compensation has been handed out for the land acquired. Those left will soon get the amount. The projected is expected to start from April 15."
The flyover would be built in two phase - 2.75km from Sector 56 police station to Mata Sahib Kaur Institute and the second would cover 2.25km from Qila complex leading to main roundabout of Kharar and Khanpur.

The NHAI has acquired over 50 hectares of land on both sides of the road. The land of a private hospital, government hospital and Government College would be acquired. The flyover will be tilted towards these sites up to 18 metre and service lane would be constructed towards Government College.
