In 2015, King was awarded with a National Medal of Arts from the United States National Endowment for the Arts for his contributions to literature.
Stephen King (15 December 1841 – 8 October 1915) was a sketcher, surveyor and explorer. He was part of the last John McDouall Stuart expedition (1861-1862), successfully crossing Australia from south to north.
King was born on the family property "Kingsford" (near Gawler) South Australia and was educated at the Adelaide Educational Institution. He died on 8 October 1915 at the age of 74, and was buried in North Road Cemetery, Nailsworth, South Australia.
He was the cousin of fellow expedition member J.W. Billiatt. After completion of the expedition, Billiatt spent some more time at Kingsford, ... On 15 September 1863, Billiatt married Ann Elizabeth King, third daughter of Stephen King Snr at St George Church Gawler. They had five children, three of whom died in infancy. Six weeks after their wedding they left for England on the Coonatto, captained by W. Begg.
The Dark Tower is a series of eight novels written by American author Stephen King, which incorporate multiple genres including fantasy, science fantasy, horror and western. Below are The Dark Tower characters that come into play as the series progresses.
Roland Deschain, son of Steven Deschain, was born in the Barony of Gilead, in In-World. Roland is the last surviving gunslinger, a man whose goal is finding and climbing to the top of the Dark Tower, purported to be the very center of existence, so that he may right the wrongs in his land. This quest is his obsession, monomania and geas to Roland: In the beginning the success of the quest is more important than the lives of his family and friends. He is a man who lacks imagination, and this is one of the stated reasons for his survival against all odds: he can not imagine anything other than surviving to find the Tower.
Edward Cantor "Eddie" Dean first appears in The Drawing of the Three, in which Roland encounters three doors that open into the New York City of our world in different times. Through these doors, Roland draws companions who will join him on his quest, as the Man In Black foretold. The first to be drawn is Eddie Dean, a drug addict and a first-time cocaine mule. Eddie lives with his older brother and fellow junkie Henry, whom Eddie reveres despite the corrupting influence Henry has had upon his life. Roland helps Eddie fight off a gang of mobsters for whom he was transporting the cocaine, but not before Eddie discovers that Henry has died from an overdose of heroin in the company of the aforementioned mobsters (after which the mobsters decide to chop off Henry's head). It is because of Eddie's heroin addiction that he is termed 'The Prisoner', and that is what is written upon the door from which Roland draws him.
A carousel (American English: from French carrousel and Italian carosello), roundabout (British English), or merry-go-round, is an amusement ride consisting of a rotating circular platform with seats for riders. The "seats" are traditionally in the form of rows of wooden horses or other animals mounted on posts, many of which are moved up and down by gearwork to simulate galloping, to the accompaniment of looped circus music. This leads to one of the alternative names in American English, the galloper. Other popular names are jumper, horseabout and flying horses.
Carousels are commonly populated with horses, each horse weighing roughly 100 lbs (45 kg), but may include diverse varieties of mounts, like pigs, zebras, tigers, or mythological creatures such as dragons or unicorns. Sometimes, chairlike or benchlike seats are used as well, and occasionally mounts can be shaped like airplanes or cars.
In a playground, a roundabout or merry-go-round is usually a simple, child-powered rotating platform with bars or handles to which children can cling while riding.
Merry-Go-Round, also known as Mediterranean Merry-Go-Round and Middle East Merry-Go-Round, was a BBC comedy-variety radio show introduced as entertainment for British troops during World War II. It led to several spin-offs, such as Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh, Waterlogged Spa and Puffney Post Office. It provided the first major role for Jon Pertwee, who would later star in The Navy Lark and as the Third Doctor in Doctor Who.
Too Fast for Love is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. The first edition of 900 copies was released on November 10, 1981, on the band's Leathür Records label. Elektra Records signed the band the following year, at which point the album was remixed and partially re-recorded. This re-release, with a different track listing and slightly different artwork (e.g., red lettering on the cover and a different interior photograph of the band), has become the standard version from which all later reissues derive. The original mix of the album remained unreleased on CD until 2002, when it was included in the Music to Crash Your Car to: Vol. 1 box set compilation.
While the album only reached number 77 on the Billboard 200 album chart in the United States, it would ultimately reach platinum status.
The songs "Stick to Your Guns" and "Live Wire" were released as singles for the album.
The album cover is a tribute to The Rolling Stones' album Sticky Fingers.
Stephen King is a former Gaelic footballer for Cavan.
He debuted for Cavan in 1980, but didn't have much success in the early years, only winning a Railway Cup Medal with Ulster in 1984. In 1989, Cavan had a great run in the National Football League claiming the Div. 2 title and reaching the semi final, only to lose narrowly to Dublin in Croke Park. In the same year he won a Dr. McKenna Cup medal when Cavan defeated Derry in the Final. He was a member of the Cavan squad that lost out in the Ulster Finals in 1983 and 1996, but in 1997, King captained Cavan to claim their only Ulster Senior Football Championship title in 28 years, beating Derry in Clones.
He played for Ireland in the 1987 International Rules series against Australia.

VERSE 1
I got drunk last night on a bottle of wine
I got to see some old friends, I haven’t seen in a really long time
Aint’ nothing changed, they still act all just the same
Just grown up kids, willing to do it all over again
CHORUS
Cause life ain’t nothing but a Merry Go Round
Pick up a bottle, and we’ll pass it around
Life ain’t nothing but a merry go round
And it never, no it never, slows down
VERSE 2
Well, I get stoned some nights and I peel back the layers of life
Look into my soul to see if anybody’s home, if there’s any kind of light
To tell you the truth, I hate to be all alone by myself in the dark
I thought this life, was supposed to be a walk in the park
CHORUS
VERSE 3
The end of the road, is when they put you six feet in the ground
The only time in this life, you can ever get off of the merry go round
I’ve been here for some thirty years now I know
Give me thirty more, I want to make a little more of this show
