Following the ECU flash, I observed much higher IAT's during pulls. High IAT's are dangerous, among other things they are the reason of the timing corrections which limit the performance - in critical situations they can result in limp mode and leave the car inoperable. For that reason, intake air temperature needs to be lowered. There are several ways to do this, but the cheapest and the most effective is to install bigger than factory intercooler.
This video shows the process of the installation of the aftermarket, 6" intercooler that is twice the volume of the oem, 4.3" one. Some cutting, some welding was needed, but nothing major.
Intercooler was imported and installed by SSGarage, professional tuner from Warsaw, Poland.
You can look them up at ssgarage.pl.
Soon, I will post a video with the log analysis and you'll see, why the aftermarket intercooler is the first mod you should ever do to your car.

Projekt praktycznie skończony, niestety chińskie MBC musi wypaść i mamy już zamówione nowe. Jak to bywa z projektami robionymi po godzinach wieczny brak czasu na konkretne testy, ale przede wszystkim TDS jeszcze się nie rozleciał co już jest dużym plusem. Trochę miesza nam szyki skrzynia biegów która "ma swoje lata" i nie jest już tak jurna jak młody byk. Icek z busa robi konkretną robotę.
Jeszcze raz dzięki chłopakom z HP-Performance szczególnie Michałowi za zrobienie remapu oraz rozmowę.

Today we are installing the COBB Front Mount Intercooler on our 2013 Focus ST. Cooler air means more horsepower, and with a new Front Mount Intercooler from COBB, your Focus ST will be running at its best! Even when stock, your factory intercooler can be overwhelmed with heatsoak that reduces horsepower. COBB designed their new Front Mount Intercooler using a 57 percent larger core with streamlined piping, resulting in charge air that is up to 100 degrees cooler.
After removing the grille shutters and drilling 2 simple holes, the COBB Front Mount Intercooler requires no other modifications for an easy installation with the included necessary hardware and custom black silicone adapters.
Please Note: Intended for North American 2013-2014 Focus ST (USDM) fitment only.

Following the ECU flash, I observed much higher IAT's during pulls. High IAT's are dangerous, among other things they are the reason of the timing corrections which limit the performance - in critical situations they can result in limp mode and leave the car inoperable. For that reason, intake air temperature needs to be lowered. There are several ways to do this, but the cheapest and the most effective is to install bigger than factory intercooler.
This video shows the process of the installation of the aftermarket, 6" intercooler that is twice the volume of the oem, 4.3" one. Some cutting, some welding was needed, but nothing major.
Intercooler was imported and installed by SSGarage, professional tuner from Warsaw, Poland.
You can look them up at ssgarage.pl.
Soon, I will post a video with the log analysis and you'll see, why the aftermarket intercooler is the first mod you should ever do to your car.

Projekt praktycznie skończony, niestety chińskie MBC musi wypaść i mamy już zamówione nowe. Jak to bywa z projektami robionymi po godzinach wieczny brak czasu na konkretne testy, ale przede wszystkim TDS jeszcze się nie rozleciał co już jest dużym plusem. Trochę miesza nam szyki skrzynia biegów która "ma swoje lata" i nie jest już tak jurna jak młody byk. Icek z busa robi konkretną robotę.
Jeszcze raz dzięki chłopakom z HP-Performance szczególnie Michałowi za zrobienie remapu oraz rozmowę.
