Deepwater Horizon
Deepwater Horizon was an ultra-deepwater, dynamically positioned, semi-submersible offshore oil drilling rig owned by Transocean. Built in 2001 in South Korea by Hyundai Heavy Industries, the rig was commissioned by R&B Falcon, which later became part of Transocean, registered in Majuro, Marshall Islands, and leased to BP from 2001 until September 2013. In September 2009, the rig drilled the deepest oil well in history at a vertical depth of 35,050 ft (10,683 m) and measured depth of 35,055 ft (10,685 m) in the Tiber Oil Field at Keathley Canyon block 102, approximately 250 miles (400 km) southeast of Houston, in 4,132 feet (1,259 m) of water. On 20 April 2010, while drilling at the Macondo Prospect, an explosion on the rig caused by a blowout killed 11 crewmen and ignited a fireball visible from 40 miles (64 km) away. The resulting fire could not be extinguished and, on 22 April 2010, Deepwater Horizon sank, leaving the well gushing at the seabed and causing the largest oil spill in U.S. waters.

Deepwater Horizon (film)
Deepwater Horizon is an upcoming American disaster drama film directed by Peter Berg, written by Matthew Sand and Matthew Michael Carnahan, and stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich and Kate Hudson. The film is based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Principal photography began on April 27, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is expected to release on September 30, 2016.

On March 8, 2011, it was announced that Summit Entertainment, Participant Media and Image Nation acquired the film rights to the New York Times' article Deepwater Horizon's Final Hours written by David Barstow, David S. Rohde and Stephanie Saul, released on December 25, 2010, about the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and subsequent oil spill. Matthew Sand was set to write the screenplay while Lorenzo di Bonaventura was in talks to produce the film with his Di Bonaventura Pictures banner. Summit and Participant Media/Imagenation were also said to be financing the film. On acquiring the article to develop a film, President of Participant Media, Ricky Strauss said,

Mass disruption events in the physical world are now precipitating mass convergence events online, where large numbers of people turn to social media and other tools to seek and share information about the unfolding event. In this talk, Kate Starbird describes several ways in which members of the social media crowd act to shape the information space through their actions and interactions within the space. The Land of Punt was a kingdom and trading partner of Ancient Egypt. And at times, the Egyptians called Punt Ta netjer, meaning "God's Land". This referred to the fact that it was among the regions of the Sun God, or the regions located in the direction of the sunrise, to the East of Egypt.
The earliest recorded ancient Egyptian expedition to Punt which returned with cargoes of incense as well as Puntites (the local people of Punt) was organized by Pharaoh Sahure of the Fifth Dynasty (circa 25th century BC). However, gold from Punt is recorded as having been in Egypt as early as the time of Pharaoh Khufu circa 2589 to 2566 BC of the Fourth Dynasty.
During the Twelfth Dynasty circa 1991 BC to 1802 BC, trade with Punt was celebrated in popular literature via the Tale of the Shipwrecked Sailor in which Punt was described as an island inhabited by a giant intelligent serpent.
And in the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, Hatshepsut circa 1507 to 1458 BC built a Red Sea fleet to facilitate trade and points south as far as Punt. This tells us that Punt was located not only east of Egypt as mentioned earlier, but south of it as well. The trade with Punt continued into the start of the 20th dynasty before terminating prior to the end of Egypt's New Kingdom circa 1077 BC.
From all the descriptions of Punt thus given so far, one should deduce that the land of Punt was:
1. An island located south east of Egypt, and was inhabited by a legendary intelligent giant serpent.
2. Its civilization was at least as old as the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt, that is, no later than the time of Pharaoh Khufu circa 2589 to 2566 BC. And during this time it was already producing gold and trading with Egypt.
3. Its civilization must have lasted at least until prior to the end of Egypt's New Kingdom circa 1077 BC.

The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect is considered the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry.
Following the explosion and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, which claimed 11 lives, a sea-floor oil gusher flowed unabated for three months in 2010. The gushing wellhead was not capped until after 87 days, on July 15, 2010.
Total discharge estimate: 4.9 million barrels (210 million US gal).

The Land of Punt was a kingdom and trading partner of Ancient Egypt. And at times, the Egyptians called Punt Ta netjer, meaning "God's Land". This referred to the fact that it was among the regions of the Sun God, or the regions located in the direction of the sunrise, to the East of Egypt.
The earliest recorded ancient Egyptian expedition to Punt which returned with cargoes of incense as well as Puntites (the local people of Punt) was organized by Pharaoh Sahure of the Fifth Dynasty (circa 25th century BC). However, gold from Punt is recorded as having been in Egypt as early as the time of Pharaoh Khufu circa 2589 to 2566 BC of the Fourth Dynasty.
During the Twelfth Dynasty circa 1991 BC to 1802 BC, trade with Punt was celebrated in popular literature via the Tale of the Shipwrecked Sailor in which Punt was described as an island inhabited by a giant intelligent serpent.
And in the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, Hatshepsut circa 1507 to 1458 BC built a Red Sea fleet to facilitate trade and points south as far as Punt. This tells us that Punt was located not only east of Egypt as mentioned earlier, but south of it as well. The trade with Punt continued into the start of the 20th dynasty before terminating prior to the end of Egypt's New Kingdom circa 1077 BC.
From all the descriptions of Punt thus given so far, one should deduce that the land of Punt was:
1. An island located south east of Egypt, and was inhabited by a legendary intelligent giant serpent.
2. Its civilization was at least as old as the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt, that is, no later than the time of Pharaoh Khufu circa 2589 to 2566 BC. And during this time it was already producing gold and trading with Egypt.
3. Its civilization must have lasted at least until prior to the end of Egypt's New Kingdom circa 1077 BC.

Deepwater Horizon
Deepwater Horizon was an ultra-deepwater, dynamically positioned, semi-submersible offshore oil drilling rig owned by Transocean. Built in 2001 in South Korea by Hyundai Heavy Industries, the rig was commissioned by R&B Falcon, which later became part of Transocean, registered in Majuro, Marshall Islands, and leased to BP from 2001 until September 2013. In September 2009, the rig drilled the deepest oil well in history at a vertical depth of 35,050 ft (10,683 m) and measured depth of 35,055 ft (10,685 m) in the Tiber Oil Field at Keathley Canyon block 102, approximately 250 miles (400 km) southeast of Houston, in 4,132 feet (1,259 m) of water. On 20 April 2010, while drilling at the Macondo Prospect, an explosion on the rig caused by a blowout killed 11 crewmen and ignited a fireball visible from 40 miles (64 km) away. The resulting fire could not be extinguished and, on 22 April 2010, Deepwater Horizon sank, leaving the well gushing at the seabed and causing the largest oil spill in U.S. waters.
