They were, however, an extremely popular Merseyside group in the early '60s that did their part to get the Liverpool scene going, and were, in fact, more popular than The Beatles themselves in 1960. Like the Beatles and some other Liverpool groups, they went to Hamburg and played challenging residencies in that city's tough clubs. But, shortly after the Beatles and Storm had cut their teeth in Hamburg, the Beatles shot past Storm and his group in popularity. And with good reason --The Beatles were better musicians and, unlike Storm and the Hurricanes, wrote their own material. Continuing to play for a few years after the Beatles poached Starr in August 1962 to replace Pete Best, the British Invasion boom almost passed Storm by, although he did get to release a couple of singles in 1963-1964.

http://www.postercentral.com BE SURE TO VIEW PART 1 FIRST!
With this video, I continue showing you an amazing Beatles Kaiserkeller street sign that dates from the band’s earliest days in 1960.
I gave all the basics in Part 1 of my video; in this one, I go through the wording on the poster and translate the German for you.
Hurricanes guitarist Ty Brian is the one responsible for saving this Beatles German appearance poster. It was found in 2014 in a trunk of his old memorabilia.
Mr. Brian passed away back in the late 1960s, so it was his estate, and specifically his sister, who ‘liberated’ this poster to the public.
Notice how club owner Bruno Koschmider’s name is plastered prominently on his Beatles 1960 event poster. He was clearly right in the center of the action.
In fact, it almost looks like HE’S one of the attractions, not just the money man behind the scenes, which was his true role.
If you have a white-paper Beatles Kaiserkeller concert poster, please know that it’s not an original… it’s a reproduction, guaranteed.
It’s been reproduced (in much smaller size than the original door sign) so many times that some of them might even be decades old themselves.
But again, the big key with a Beatles Hamburg window card is that it be hand-painted… anything printed, forget it.
Now I suppose some unscrupulous types will try to hand-paint forgeries going forward, so be cautioned.
There was a piece of this Beatles German poster board detached when it was found in a trunk decades later; it was in the lower left-hand area.
You can see the lines where the piece came off, and then was gently reattached for the purposes of this museum-quality framing in 2014.
As I speculate in the video, one has to wonder if this is the only Beatles Kaiserkeller placard that’s ever going to surface… in addition to the two larger, paper door signs.
Pure speculation, of course, but one has to think the odds are pretty slim… who would save these, other than the musicians themselves?
But if you want a genuine Beatles 1960 show poster, there’s not much else you can turn to… this is the only German stuff we know of.
There’s a vintage photo of a “Silver Beetles” concert poster from a few months earlier in 1960, but who knows if one was ever saved; doubtful.
Now if you’re strictly after a Beatles Hamburg in-person poster – if you’re really hung up on Germany - then maybe you can eventually land the orange Beatles Star-Club poster from 1962.
But a caveat: that one’s been reprinted, and only about four years later (1966), so some of those repro’s look extremely old and authentic.
Serious fans DO covet any Beatles German broadside, however, because as George Harrison once famously said, “We reached our peak [as a live band] in Hamburg.”
That’s because once they got famous, of course, it was on the stage for 30 minutes, nothing heard because of screaming girls, and then off again. Not many hours of playing per night, like in Hamburg.
This Beatles 1960 billboard measures approximately 19 by 26 inches, by the way, and yes was painted directly onto cardboard.
It’s adorned with 10 nice little stars throughout, in both white and red paint. Interesting… 10 stars, and 10 musicians advertised (five in each band).
Shooting this Beatles 1960 broadside for my video blog was one of the most thrilling hobby exercises I’ve ever undertaken.
It’s very carefully preserved in a large, sturdy frame, which I cradle on my knee like a newborn baby.
Notice how the venue’s name, “Kaiserkeller,” is plastered across the top of this Beatles Hamburg appearance poster. Translated to English, that literally means “emperor’s basement.”
And then directly below that it says “Tanzpalast der Jugend.” In English, that would mean “dance palace of the young.” Hmmm… I wonder if the legal drinking age was maybe 16 at the time.
Even if you’re not a poster nut, if it’s Beatles German concert memorabilia you’re after, there’s nothing else to shoot for… tickets were never used, and apparently neither were handbills or flyers.
Fully signed pay receipts, executed once a week in the owner’s office, is about all one could strive to collect, but those are very rare and pricey, too.
I wish this Beatles 1960 window poster had been printed in a small run… even if it were just 25-50 copies, spread around town to advertise the residency.
Then collectors would have something more realistic to chase down as collectors… instead of just drooling over this almost-unique holy grail.
This Beatles Kaiserkeller window display is discussed in great detail by me, Pete Howard, a Fab Four fan since ’64. I can be reached via either pete@postercentral.com, or on [805] 540-0020.

wn.com/Beatles 1960 Concert Sign With Rory Storm Hurricanes, Pt. 2
http://www.postercentral.com BE SURE TO VIEW PART 1 FIRST!

Some of the explanations for his dismissal we adhered to over the years were … He was too conventional to be a Beatle …Paul and George never liked him …He was anti-social, never hung-out with the other lads after gigs …Pete refused to sport the proposed mop-top haircut …Ringo was the better drummer …Pete was too good looking … Pete was too popular …Pure jealousy …Epstein felt threatened … and so on… and so on.

Rory McIlroy sets course record 61 to lead Wells Fargo Championship Rd.3
Rory McIlroy shot a stunning 11-under-par round of 61 to storm to the top of the leaderboard at the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina.
The world No1 started the weekend three shots behind Webb Simpson and Robert Streb but produced a record-breaking display in his third round to overhaul his rivals.
McIlroy parred his first two holes before going on to pick up 11 birdies – including nine in 10 holes at one stage – in a second successive blemish-free round to move to 18-under-par for the tournament.
It was the 26-year-old Northern Irishman’s lowest round on the PGA Tour, beating the 62 he made here in 2010 – the previous course record at Quail Hollow, and scene of his first PGA Tour victory five years ago.
McIlroy said: “It was incredible, it was nice just to get on a run like that. I felt like every shot I looked at, I was comfortable over it and I really putted well; that was the thing that pleased me most.
“I rolled the ball really, really nicely, and I don’t think I’ve rolled it like that in quite a while, so it was nice to see a lot of putts drop.
“And to break my own course record here is pretty nice.”
McIlroy had looked on target to shoot a sub-60 round – only six players have ever scored 59 in a PGA Tour event – but had to settle for pars on the final two holes. Despite that, McIlroy’s remarkable display left him with a four-shot lead heading into the final day, with Simpson his nearest challenger after the local hope carded a 68.
Fellow American Streb, who led after the first round and was joint-top with Simpson at the halfway stage, is a further three shots back in third place.
In joint fourth place on 10 under are Brendan Steele (68) and Patrick Rodgers (70), while Phil Mickelson, who shot a 66 on Friday, is back in a group on eight under after a damaging triple-bogey seven on the 18th left him with a 71..
The four-time major winner McIlroy, who felt he played too conservatively in the second round and believed he was rewarded for going for more pins, is now clear favourite to become the first two-time winner of the event. He is also on course to smash the existing overall tournament final record of 16 under, set by Anthony Kim in 2008.
And McIlroy insists he has no intention of letting up on the final day. “Even though I’ve got a lead there’s no reason why I shouldn’t go out there and be aggressive and try make as many birdies as I can. I’m obviously playing well and I feel like this is a course where I can shoot another low score on.”

Enjoy
Completing all Challenges with 3 stars will net you the following Trophies.

Richard Starkey, MBE (born 7 July 1940), better known by his stage name Ringo Starr, is an English musician, singer-songwriter, and actor who gained worldwide fame as the drummer for The Beatles. When the band formed in 1960, Starr belonged to another Liverpool band, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. He became The Beatles' drummer in August 1962, taking over from Pete Best. In addition to his contribution as drummer, Starr featured as lead vocals on a number of successful Beatles songs (in particular, "With a Little Help from My Friends", "Yellow Submarine", and The Beatles version of "Act Naturally"), as co-writer with the song "What Goes On" and primary writer with "Don't Pass Me By", and "Octopus's Garden".
As drummer for The Beatles, Starr was musically creative, and his contribution to the band's music has received high praise from notable drummers in more recent times. Starr described himself as "your basic offbeat drummer with funny fills", technically limited by being a left-handed person playing a right-handed kit. Drummer Steve Smith said that Starr's popularity "brought forth a new paradigm" where "we started to see the drummer as an equal participant in the compositional aspect" and that Starr "composed unique, stylistic drum parts for The Beatles songs."
Starr is the most documented and critically acclaimed actor-Beatle, playing a central role in several Beatles films, and appearing in numerous other movies, both during and after his career with The Beatles. After The Beatles' break-up in 1970, Starr achieved solo musical success with several singles and albums, and recorded with each of his fellow ex-Beatles as they too developed their post-Beatle musical careers. He has also been featured in a number of TV documentaries, hosted TV shows, and narrated the first two series of the children's television series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. He currently tours with the All-Starr Band, making stops in such cities as New York and Boston, MA.
Richard Henry Sellers, OBE (8 September 1925 -- 24 July 1980), better known as Peter Sellers, was a British comedian and actor best known for his roles in Dr. Strangelove, as Chief Inspector Clouseau in The Pink Panther film series, as Clare Quilty in the original 1962 screen version of Lolita, and as the man-child, Chance the gardener, in his penultimate film, Being There.
Sellers rose to fame on the BBC Radio comedy series The Goon Show. His ability to speak in different accents (e.g., French, Indian, American, German, as well as British regional accents), along with his talent to portray a range of characters to comic effect, contributed to his success as a radio personality and screen actor and earned him national and international nominations and awards. Many of his characters became ingrained in public perception of his work. Sellers's private life was characterized by turmoil and crises, and included emotional problems and substance abuse. Sellers was married four times, with three children from two of the marriages.
An enigmatic figure, he often claimed to have no identity outside the roles that he played but he left his own portrait since, "he obsessively filmed his homes, his family, people he knew, anything that took his fancy right to the end of his life—intimate film that remained undiscovered until long after his death in 1980." The director Peter Hall has said: "Peter had the ability to identify completely with another person, and think his way physically, mentally and emotionally into their skin. Where does that come from? I have no idea. Is it a curse? Often. I think it's not enough though in this business to have talent. You have to have talent to handle the talent. And that I think Peter did not have."

July 7th 2012.
"Boys" is a song by Luther Dixon and Wes Farrell, originally performed by The Shirelles and released as the B-side of their "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" single in November 1960.
The Beatles covered "Boys" on their first album released in the UK, Please Please Me. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios on February 11, 1963 in a single take, and is Ringo Starr's first recorded lead vocal with the Beatles. February 11 was a marathon day for the Beatles as they recorded 10 of the 14 tracks they needed for Please Please Me. The Beatles included two songs by The Shirelles on their first album: "Boys" and "Baby It's You."
The Beatles didn't concern themselves about possible homosexual undertones that go with singing a song about boys, although they altered the gender pronouns employed on the Shirelles' version (i.e. "My girl says when I kiss her lips..."). In an October 2005 Rolling Stone interview, Paul McCartney stated: "Any one of us could hold the audience. Ringo would do 'Boys', which was a fan favourite with the crowd. And it was great — though if you think about it, here's us doing a song and it was really a girls' song. 'I talk about boys now!' Or it was a gay song. But we never even listened. It's just a great song. I think that's one of the things about youth — you just don't give a shit. I love the innocence of those days." (The lyrics talk specifically about boys kissing girls, not "each other".)
"Boys" had always been the Beatles' 'drummer' song during their Cavern days, the drummer then being Pete Best. Coincidentally, Starr also sang this for his solo spot with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes; Cilla Black would sometimes join him on stage, sharing the same microphone.
The Beatles cover of the song is playable on The Beatles: Rock Band.

1962
After completing their second Hamburg residency, the band enjoyed increasing popularity in Liverpool, particularly in Merseyside, with the growing Merseybeat movement. However, they were also growing tired of the monotony of numerous appearances at the same clubs night after night. In November, during one of the group's frequent appearances at the Cavern Club, they encountered Brian Epstein, a local record store owner and music columnist.[27] He later recalled, "I immediately liked what I heard. They were fresh, and they were honest, and they had what I thought was a sort of presence ... [a] star quality."[28] Epstein courted the band over the next couple of months, and they appointed him manager in January 1962.[29] After an early February audition, Decca Records rejected the band with the comment "Guitar groups are on the way out, Mr. Epstein."[30][nb 2] Tragedy greeted them upon their return to Germany in April, when a distraught Kirchherr met them at the airport with news of Sutcliffe's death the previous day from what would later be determined a brain haemorrhage.[32] The following month, George Martin signed the Beatles to EMI's Parlophone label.[32]
The band's first recording session under Martin's direction took place at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in London on 6 June 1962.[33] Martin immediately complained to Epstein about Best's poor drumming and suggested they use a session drummer in his stead.[34] Already contemplating Best's dismissal,[35] the Beatles replaced him in mid-August with Ringo Starr, who left Rory Storm and the Hurricanes to join them.[33] A 4 September session at EMI yielded a recording of "Love Me Do" featuring Starr on drums, but a dissatisfied Martin hired drummer Andy White for the band's third session a week later, which produced recordings of "Love Me Do", "Please Please Me" and "P.S. I Love You".[33] Martin initially selected the Starr version of "Love Me Do" for the band's first single, though subsequent re-pressings featured the White version, with Starr on tambourine.[33] Released in early October, "Love Me Do" peaked at number seventeen on the Record Retailer chart.[36] Their television début came later that month with a live performance on the regional news programme People and Places.[37] A studio session in late November yielded another recording of "Please Please Me",[38] of which Martin accurately predicted, "You've just made your first No.1."[39]
In December 1962, the Beatles concluded their fifth and final Hamburg residency.[40] By 1963, they had agreed that all four band members would contribute vocals to their albums—including Starr, despite his restricted vocal range, to validate his standing in the group.[41] Lennon and McCartney had established a songwriting partnership, and as the band's success grew, their dominant collaboration limited Harrison's opportunities as a lead vocalist.[42] Epstein, in an effort to maximize the Beatles' commercial potential, encouraged them to adopt a professional approach to performing.[43] Lennon recalled him saying, "Look, if you really want to get in these bigger places, you're going to have to change—stop eating on stage, stop swearing, stop smoking".[30] Lennon said, "We used to dress how we liked, on and off stage. He'd tell us that jeans were not particularly smart and could we possibly manage to wear proper trousers, but he didn't want us suddenly looking square. He'd let us have our own sense of individuality".[30]

Today, Jordan Belfort insists he's a changed man. But the real "Wolf of Wall Street" may not be all he seems - and authorities in the US want to know what's happening to his new found fortune.

'Wolf of Wall St' storms out
Why did Jordan Belfort, the jailed US stockbroker and subject of a Hollywood movie, storm out of a 60 Minutes interview?
'Wolf of Wall Street' Jordan Belfort storms off '60 Minutes' set
The hotheaded con artist portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in a 2013 biopic flipped out on Australian interviewer Liz Hayes when asked if he was hiding income.
The Wolf of Wall Street can still howl.
Jordan Belfort, the swindling stockbroker portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in a blockbuster biopic, exploded during a sit-down interview for Australia's '60 Minutes' before storming off the set.
"I said enough about this!" Belfort hissed at interviewer Liz Hayes. "Let's move on, OK? I'm not going to get attacked here."
The fraudster lost it when Hayes asked if he's still running scams during the interview, which aired Sunday.
"You have an oral contract with your management , the Fordham Company — is that an attempt to hide your income?" Hayes asked.
Belfort flipped out.
"You can air what you want out of this interview. It's done," Belfort told a bewildered Hayes as he jumped out of his chair and walked out. "You've got a lot of nerve, boy."
The wild-eyed former stockbroker has been trying to repair his image, insisting he's no longer the debauched dirtbag depicted in the Academy Award-nominated "Wolf of Wall Street."
His life as a corrupt stockbroker came under the spotlight in The Wolf of Wall Street, and now the heat of a 60 Minutes interview proved too much for Jordan Belfort as he stormed out of an interview with reporter Liz Hayes.
Claiming he'd been hit with ''a hatchet job'', Belfort stormed off after questioning from Hayes over his current financial set-up which has repeatedly come into question over his earnings and the amount he is repaying to his victims, who lost more than $200 million.
Hayes had questioned Belfort's finances, in particular the oral contract he has with his management, the Fordham Company. ''Is that an attempt to hide your income?''
After repeatedly telling Hayes to move on from her line of questioning, he told her: ''You're a very nice woman ... but this is obviously a hatchet job."

He then stormed off, saying: ''You can air what you want out of this interview - it's done.''
He added in an exasperated tone: ''You've got a lot of nerve, boy, I tell you.
''I was told this was a friendly, nice interview. No one has ever treated me as disrespectfully as you have.''
Questions have been repeatedly raised over Belfort's income, after he was convicted of fraud and money laundering for which he served 22 months in jail. As part of his jail term, he was required to repay more than $100 million in restitution to his victims but prosecutors have claimed he is falling way short of repaying his debts.
Belfort maintains he is a changed man and is now working as a motivational speaker. He is holding seminars in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland in June, with ticket prices ranging from $129-$795.
Earlier this year, however, The Wall Street Journal reported allegations that Belfort is staying* in Australia and living off royalties well out of United States' jurisdiction.
At the time of the report, Belfort took to Facebook to condemn the article as ''the most idiotic, venomous and blatantly false attack on my character'' and said he was committed to turning over the profits of his income.
Martin Scorsese's biopic last year saw Leonardo DiCaprio bring to the screen the story of Belfort, who was reportedly paid $940,500 for the movie rights.
Hayes took to Twitter to share her bemusement at the situation.
