Wonder Mom
Wonder Mom is an informative show which airs every Saturday morning on ABS-CBN. It is intended to help mothers be productive and self-reliant to their families. The theme song of the show is the song of the same name by Moonstar 88.
About
Known as one of the country's top anchors who champions women's and children's issues, Karen puts on another hat and helps solve common problems encountered by parents in rearing their children and offers solutions through the help of experts.
As a mother of two young boys, David Jude and Lucas Emmanuel, Karen had her own dilemmas while raising her sons and admitted that she finds it hard to spend quality time with them given her hectic schedule. She also shares her experiences in disciplining her kids as she feels some guilt for not giving them enough time.
The show can be seen twice a week. Every Saturdays, it will share with the viewers parenting issues of one mother and her kids and Karen will be seen on the show to discuss the concerns of the parents and brings in experts to give advice. Dr. Marthony P. Basco, a pediatrician and public health specialist, is the resident pediatrician of the show, delivering sound advice to viewers and assistance to parents and caregivers on proper child rearing, health issues and preventive interventions. In cases where patients need medical help, Dr. Basco brings them to his clinic while the show documents his activities and follows through with the patients on subsequent episodes. As a Public Health Specialist, Dr. Basco has conducted several lay health fora for the show which included an episode on Dengue Prevention and Control in Barangay U.P. Village in Quezon City.
