Karmica - FAB UK Magazine - PL. AUDIO
BUT, WHO REALLY IS SHE?
There is a reason that my artistic nickname is Karmica. It is a result of karma and evolution of the name Mon(ica). Her mission is feeding art (in Polish “feeding” means “karm-ienie”, it has the same root word as karma) all those who value authenticity, kindness, living in harmony with nature, and with themselves. This is a house for birds, a bird table, a feeder (again: in Polish “feeder” means “karm-nik”, the same root word as karma) with stories to eat, not obvious at first glance.
Why are birds your inspiration or is it a matter of the colors of the feeling of freedom ? Or maybe that you were born and raised outside the city noise near the forest and nature?

BIRD ARE MY MOTIVATION AND ADVENTURE!
Why birds so much? I grew up in a place that was very close to the forest, all my childhood was associated with it: expeditions, hiking, walking, camping. The forest is an environment in which I feel natural, like at home. Trees, wild flowers, stones, rivers, bridges, waterfalls, and flying animals - they make me consciously feel connected with myself and with them. Although I don't speak their language, I understand them perfectly. What fascinates me the most is their magical properties, wings of freedom, madness of forms and colors and evolutionaries solutions, etc.
THERE ARE NO LIMIT TO ME.
I grew up in a home where there is an ideology that self-made things have the most value. My parents built a house, a farm, planted orchards, gardens, so we didn't need anything from the store. Every our fruit and flower was the realest and the best.
I have special relationships with my parents: I spent time with Dad in his workshop, and with my Mum in the garden and at the sewing machine. She was the one who sewed my clothes when I was a child and helped me with reworking my first pants.
So when I have an idea to paint a picture (make an outfit), there are no limits to me.
Is your art a manifestation of some hidden ideas ??? Does worldview have any meaning in your achievements ???
I AM AN EXTENSION OF MY ART!
For me, art is not just a hobby and work, it is my path that I took 10 years ago.
The beginnings were very difficult: I started art studies without any contact with art, I move to Warsaw from the small village Rzeczyca Długa, located in southern Poland.
Working in the bars and restaurants for a week helped me make a living and pay for extramural studies. I had a lot to catch up, because I knew nothing about this world – about Warsaw, studies, artworld – for me it was like a leap into the abyss…
From studies one sentence I remembered the most. During the second painting study class, Professor Łukasz Korolkiewicz, the prominent person, said: “Do not look at what I arrange in a still life composition, paint, what you feel”.
And so this sentence opened the door to the room, in which strange figures in complicated compositions were already waiting… this is how adventures began. Then I decided that I want to be a painter and I want to be an extension of an artwork myself.
In the same way as I talk about painting I talk about my style, in which are sometimes different ways of making it, and the materials used, but the hidden idea is always the same.
Artists usually say that they are fighting the gray of the street. Are you also trying to "break down" the overwhelming monotony?
I HAVE MY OWN WEAPON!
In a world where plastic kills, and the gray of the street blends into passersby, I have my own weapon: the color and breath of freshness that I carry on the wings of freedom.
In Poland it is often said that a shoemaker walks without shoes [the shoemaker's son always goes barefoot], and I promised myself that I would always have them.
Standing in front of a mirror, I feel the same as standing in front of a white canvas: every time it is a challenge, an excitement, and adrenaline, which open my suitcase with more and more new ideas.
I pay a lot of attention to the details, because they contain clues about the lost treasure: from A to Z, from crazy headgear to shoes with eyes. Every detail is important to me and is always a deep reference to my surreal world in which birds, color, soul, wildness of nature and characters appearing often in my dreams play a foreground role.
Do you only do projects for yourself? How can I contact you?
I VALUE QUALITY AND ORIGINALITY!
I do not only make projects for myself, the processed items are very popular. Shoes, jackets that are already bored, get a new life in my hands, I always try to correspond with the recipient, hide the symbols and character of a person. I treat painting on skin or fabrics as a tattoo that talks about ourselves. Above all, I value quality and originality, all projects that I make are characterized by uniqueness and high quality.
I invite you to my instagram (karmica.pl), to follow up and contact.
