Sefydlwyd Glan-llyn fel canolfan awyr agored yn ôl yn 1950 ac mae'n rhan o fudiad Urdd Gobaith Cymru, sef prif fudiad Ieuenctid Cymru. Erbyn hyn ceir llety i 230 o wersyllwyr, gweithgareddau cyffrous, adnoddau a chyfleusterau heb eu hail ac mae gan y gwersyll y gallu i gynnig pob math o gyrsiau ar gyfer pawb.
Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan-llyn is a multi activity centre situated on the shores of Llyn Tegid, near Y Bala, a mile from the village of Llanuwchllyn in the shadow of the Aran and within Eryri, Snowdonia National Park. It is an ideal location for all types of holidays and activity courses.
Glan-llyn was established as an outdoor activity centre in 1950 and it is part of the Urdd, the largest youth movement in Wales. By now, it can cater for 230 residents, it has exiting activities, resources and facilities second to none and can offer all types of courses for everybody.

Glan Llyn
Coordinates: 51°34′19″N 2°54′48″W / 51.57201°N 2.91331°W / 51.57201; -2.91331
Glan Llyn is the brand name of a new 600-acre (240 ha) mixed-use community development, in the east of Newport, south Wales on part of the site of the former Llanwern steelworks.
Background
The steel production part of Llanwern steel works closed in 2001, leading to the loss of 1,300 jobs, although a finishing plant still remains in operation today. After the closure British Steel started the process of finding a redevelopment partner, choosing St. Modwen Properties, who in 2004 bought a 600-acre (240 ha) package of land. The redevelopment process started with the clearing of the former steel works buildings, and making the site environmentally safe. In 2010, this allowed the site to act as a Park & Ride facility for the 2010 Ryder Cup event at the Celtic Manor Resort. Eventually up to 400,000 tonnes of concrete from the former steel works will be used in the redevelopment of the site.
Redevelopment
St Modwen have set out a £1Bn mixed-use redevelopment plan for the site, which it is envisaged will take 20 years to complete, in circa 2026–28. The new community plan includes the construction of 4,000 homes, with a supporting infrastructure that includes schools, a police station, supermarket, open spaces that will include three new lakes, new access roads, a GPs' surgery plus health and leisure facilities.
