I'm
Jaspreet Singh & I created
Minority Mindset to motivate, teach, and inspire others to do what they want. While going to school and starting my businesses, I realized school is really good at teaching you to be an employee, but it doesn’t teach you to create value & it doesn’t teach you anything about financial literacy. That’s why we’re here. And, no, we are not trying to sell you one of those “bootcamps” or “masterclasses” on how to get rich.
A community of hustlers and entrepreneurs; we are on a mission to motivate, teach, and inspire entrepreneurs and hustlers to be the best they can be, because average sucks. Only a minority of people will risk it all to make their dreams a reality - will you? #ThinkMinority

The Mindset Of
Steve Harvey - How He Made
Millions | Minority Mindset - Jaspreet Singh
What’s up everybody, my name is Jaspreet Singh & welcome to the Minority Mindset. You might know Steve Harvey as the host of
Family Feud, or maybe you’ve seen him hosting his Steve Harvey show, or maybe you remember him as the guy who announced the wrong miss universe winner .
Steve Harvey has established a powerful TV presence, so today, we are going to analyze the mindset of Steve Harvey and how he built up a net worth of
100 million dollars.
Steve, born as Broderick Steven
Harvey, Steve comes from a very humble beginning. His dad was a coal miner and he grew up in
West Virginia. He followed the traditional school route for most of his life even though he dreamed of being on TV.
He went to college at
Kent State when he made a friend named
Arsenio Hall who wanted to move to
Hollywood to be a TV comedian, which was Steve’s dream. Steve and his friends laughed at Arsenio Hall because they thought he was crazy to try to be on TV.
Steve Harvey flunked out of college and needed money so he started selling life insurance and then worked factory jobs.
About 6 years later, Steve had a a piece system factory job where he made coil wires with his bare hands making $8
.50 an hour when one day before going to his
midnight shift, he saw
Arsenio on TV doing a comedy show. This broke Steve Harvey down and he started crying, they both had the same dream and came from the same place, now Arsenial made it happen while Steve was working in a factory.
At that moment, Steve decided he would change his life. He was 27 years old and he set his dreams on becoming a stand-up comedian. He knew he was older than most new comedians, but he used his age to his advantage by making jokes about real life things like work and what women wear to bed, rather than the immature things young comedians talk about.
Things were looking good, until Steve and his first wife got a divorce and Most of his paycheck started going to his two kids. Then he lost some comedy gigs, and the next thing he knew, he was homeless.
When he had comedy gigs, he would request the promoter to get him a hotel.
Once his time was up, he had nowhere to go so he would sleep in his
1976 Ford Tempo with an
Igloo Cooler in the backseat as the fridge, and taking showers in gas stations. But Steve didn’t let his situation stop him.
He lived like this for three whole years, with very little hope besides his big dreams, until he got his big break to host the show
Showtime at the Apollo when he was 36 years old.
That same year, he took the money he made and instead of blowing it on nice things, he opened his own comedy club in
Dallas, TX called Steve Harvey’s
Comedy Club and was the 4th comedy club in
America owned by an
African American.
Then when he was 39, things started to get really busy for Steve. In addition to hosting Showtime at the Apollo, he got his own sitcom called
The Steve Harvey Show, and he hosted a morning radio show in
Chicago. He would wake up at 3:30 am Monday – Friday to record the radio program.
It’s safe to say, he wasn’t sleeping much.
So how does Steve Harvey make money? He gets royalties off of his comedy work like the original
Kings of Comedy which grossed 38 million, he makes royalties off of his best selling books, he is the host of a number of different shows like Family Feud where he gets paid 12 million a year,
The Steve Harvey show, And He has a clothing line. That should be enough to cover is 22k/month apartment rent.
So what can we learn from Steve?
Dream so big that people laugh at you and it’s never too late to start.
And then be so dedicated to your goals that you will stop at nothing to make them come true.
