The Metropolitan Strategy Melbourne 2030 is a Victorian Government strategic planning policy framework for the metropolitan area of Greater Melbourne, intended to cover the period 2001–2030. During this period the population of the metropolitan area is expected to grow by a million people to over 5 million. Population projections now predict Melbourne's population could reach 7 million by that time and the State Government has since changed its strategy on the policy, abandoning the urban growth boundary in the north and west of Melbourne and compromising green wedges.
Introduced by the Bracks (ALP) government, its main elements are based on well-established planning principles for Transit-oriented development:
Melbourne (/ˈmɛlbərn/, AU i/ˈmɛlbən/) is the capital and most populous city in the Australian state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia and Oceania. The name "Melbourne" refers to the area of urban agglomeration (as well as a census statistical division) spanning 9,900 km2 (3,800 sq mi) which comprises the broader metropolitan area, as well as being the common name for its city centre. The metropolis is located on the large natural bay of Port Phillip and expands into the hinterlands towards the Dandenong and Macedon mountain ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley. Melbourne consists of 31 municipalities. It has a population of 4,347,955 as of 2013, and its inhabitants are called Melburnians.
Founded by free settlers from the British Crown colony of Van Diemen's Land on 30 August 1835, in what was then the colony of New South Wales, it was incorporated as a Crown settlement in 1837. It was named "Melbourne" by the Governor of New South Wales, Sir Richard Bourke, in honour of the British Prime Minister of the day, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. It was officially declared a city by Queen Victoria in 1847, after which it became the capital of the newly founded colony of Victoria in 1851. During the Victorian gold rush of the 1850s, it was transformed into one of the world's largest and wealthiest cities. After the federation of Australia in 1901, it served as the nation's interim seat of government until 1927.
2030 (MMXXX) will be a common year starting on Tuesday (dominical letter F) of the Gregorian calendar, the 2030th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 30th year of the 3rd millennium, the 30th year of the 21st century, and the 1st year of the 2030s decade.
Richard William Wynne (born 6 October 1955) is an Australian politician. He has been an Australian Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 1999, representing the electorate of Richmond. He has been Minister for Planning in the Andrews Ministry since December 2014. He previously served as Parliamentary Secretary for Justice (1999-2002), Cabinet Secretary (2002-2006), Minister for Housing (2006-2010), Minister for Local Government (2006-2010) and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (2007-2010) in the Bracks Ministry and Brumby Ministry. He is a member of the Australian Labor Party and a member of the Socialist Left faction.
Prior to being elected to Parliament, Wynne was a social worker, an electorate officer and a ministerial adviser to state and federal Labor ministers. He was a councillor for the City of Melbourne 1986–91, including a term as Lord Mayor of Melbourne 1990–91.
Richard Wynne grew up in the once working class, inner city suburb of North Melbourne. He attended St. Joseph's Christian Brothers College in Queensberry Street, North Melbourne (later known as St. Joseph's College, Melbourne). He completed his Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 1972.
Melbourne Square is an enclosed shopping mall in Melbourne, Florida. Opened in 1982, it is anchored by two Dillard's stores, J. C. Penney, Macy's, and Dick's Sporting Goods.
The mall was built on what had formerly been an orange grove.
The first store to open at Melbourne Square in 1982 was Ivey's, with J. C. Penney and Jordan Marsh as the other two anchors at the time. Expansions in 1986 added a new wing to the mall, featuring Belk-Lindsey and Burdines.
Jordan Marsh closed in 1992 and became the first Florida location for Mervyn's the same year. The Mervyns store closed and became a second Dillard's in 1997.
Belk moved to The Avenue in Viera in 2004. The former Belk building was torn down in 2006 for Dick's Sporting Goods and Circuit City, the latter of which went out of business in 2009. The former Circuit City became LA Fitness in 2014 and H&M joined the same year.
The Mall annually hosts the Hanukkah parade in front of the mall in association with the Jewish federation of Brevard and Treasure coast.

Melbourne Metro is a proposed nine-kilometre rail tunnel between South Kensington and South Yarra. It includes five new stations to be located at Arden (North Melbourne), Parkville, CBD North, CBD South and the Domain. This project will help untangle the inner core of Melbourne's rail network and will be the first step in transforming Melbourne's network into a metro-style system. This will help create the capacity needed to expand the network and increase services to Melbourne's growth areas in the west, north and south east.
There is so much happening in the Western Melbourne growth corridor. Wyndham City Council are looking ahead to the future for economic development to support population growth. The infrastructure projects and lifestyle projects will continue to drive demand for new homes and push up property values. A great formula for investment.

Press like and write your comment about this issue. Presentation given by councillor Stephen Mayne on the review of the Sunlight to Public Spaces policy in the Melbourne Planning Scheme. "Close to 100 towers approved in the previous 4 year term, so the horse has bolted. There's a 10 year pipeline of [development] approvals out there and we're going to be grappling with that for the next few years" The Melbourne Planning Scheme should be reviewed urgently, with particular emphasis on the residential zones. The way current and previous state and local governments considered these mixed use and residential areas of inner Melbourne as future intense and high-rise development sites is unsustainable, unacceptable and just bad town planning. Where is the much needed civic and social infrastru...

AURIN proudly presents a lecture and panel discussion featuring world-renowned British urban planner and geographer Professor Mike Batty and a panel of Australian experts discussing how urban system models, smart cities and big data can help shape our urban future. World-renowned British urban planner and geographer Professor Michael Batty—winner of geography’s equivalent of a Nobel, the Vautrin Lud Prize—will discuss how big data and decision science can predict and shape Australia’s changing cities. For more than fifty years planners have been using computers to predict future land use, traffic, and energy management. But cities and our behaviours within them are changing so dramatically it is hard for our science to keep up. Now we have both the complex modelling tools and the data—g...

As a conspiracy theory, the term New World Order refers to the emergence of a totalitarian world government. The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government—which will replace sovereign nation-states—and an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history's progress. Many influential historical and contemporary figures have therefore been purported to be part of a cabal that operates through many front organizations to orchestrate significant political and financial events, ranging from causing systemic crises to pushing through controversial policies, at both natio...

China has been Australia’s biggest trading partner since late 2007. The economy is experiencing a significant transformation with economic growth slowing down to a predicted 6.2% by 2017 from double digit levels. However, the urban middle class is expected to reach 1 billion, accounting for 70% of its population by 2030 driving massive consumer demand. As the Chinese economy becomes more innovation and consumption driven, what complements could Australia and China offer each other? What do these trends mean and what prospects are there for Australia? At this public lecture, Professor Wang Depei, Chief Economist from Forecast Thinktank in Shanghai talked about the complexity of the Chinese economy and the significance for both Australia and China. Professor Ross Garnaut AO provided an Aust...

Molly Brown, waits for me
In a little one-horse town
And Boley, Oklahoma
Where white folks don't come around
I'm thinkin' about you, Molly
I'm forbidden to come 'round
Lord knows I love you, Molly
Molly Brown
Molly Brown, Molly Brown
Lay down by my side
Show me how you spread your wings
And let that pony ride
I'm crazy about you, Molly
I don't care that your skin is brown
Lord knows I need you, Molly
Molly Brown
Molly Brown
Oh, Molly Brown
We met down by the river
She wore her wedding gown
I never saw it coming
And no one heard the sound
My daddy used both barrels
And left me there to drown
Lord knows I'd die for Molly
Molly Brown
Molly Brown, Molly Brown
Don't you weep for me
I'm going to a place the Lord
Prepared for you and me
I'll meet you up in Heaven
Upon that Holy ground
I'll be waitin' for you, Molly
Molly Brown
Molly Brown, Molly Brown, Molly Brown
Lord, I'll be waitin' up in Heavenly
