HTML5 Canvas Blitting Revealed:
HTML5 Canvas element is a marvel that has allowed the web designers to embed the visual interactive images through the HTML language. With various attributes to its credit, it gives an output quite similar to real web software used in preparation of dynamic images and animations.
How does it work?
A wide assortment of methods and properties brings life into the web page using canvas element. For drawing rectangles, filling gradients and transformation by scaling and rotating, JavaScript is used. Bezier curves and arcs can also be integrated to obtain a desired interface.
Like any image tag, canvas element uses attributes like width and height. Id is required to identify it with JavaScript or any other scripting language. By defining canvas tag in this manner, an invisible layout is drawn on the web page. The style sheet elements like border, background color or margins help in revealing a true picture of the canvas on the screen. The default color is always black. The tags using color attribute can use RGB or hexadecimal values.
For creating rectangles fillRect (x, y, w, h) syntax is used to make a rectangle on the screen while strokeRect (x, y, w, h) defines the use of borders or strokes. fillStyle() and strokeStyle() sets a shape with a specific color, pattern and gradient. x and y are assigned coordinate values. The size values are indicated by w and h. Multiple paths with multiple strokes can be created on the line using beginPath() and closePath() at the start and end of the path. Like rectangles, diagonal or other gradients also have four arguments where the first two indicates the starting point and last two the end point of gradient. However, radial gradient uses six arguments where three arguments are for the circle from initial point and rest three for the circle for the end point. To make straight line, moveTo() and lineTo() methods are used. In order to input characters in the canvas tag, there are three attributes that can be used; font, textAlign, textBaseline For returning an object for drawing, getContext() method is used in which 2d context method is more popular.
Canvas Support!
Canvas element is supported by latest versions of browsers and mobile devices like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera, iPhone and Android. In case any browser is not working with canvas element then fallback content is inserted inside the image tag between the opening and closing tags of canvas. In other words, fallback content is image file that is displayed if canvas element is not supported on a browser. JavaScript uses document.addEventListener(DOMContentLoaded) syntax to load the page.
HTML5 Canvas element is most prominently used for animations and moving objects. It is rather avoided to display static images. Requirement of dynamic output every hour and every day of the year is targeted by canvas tag. Canvas tags are very often used by websites which run on JavaScript. Compared to Adobe Flash, it loads fast and has become the newest craze in web world.

How to scroll a bitmap area using the Blitter chip. Also: how to calculate minterms for OR and cookie-cut blits.
With too much talk about details as usual! :) I sort of catch myself thinking "is what I say complete and true" as I speak. You can indeed scroll leftward using ascending mode, and I should have shown you why $fca is indeed a correct control word for bob, mask, and screen in channels A, B, and C.
Note: There is a drawback to using ascending mode for scrolling, namely that you write to a word *outside* the blitter rectangle. If you are aware of this and it doesn't matter (it doesn't overwrite any data, or it's OK to overwrite because it's not visible), everything's fine - but if you forget it when you make changes later you can have a hard-to-find bug on your hands.
The reason for channel selector mask $3, $5, and $7 being less efficient is that they cause gaps in the Blitter pipeline's cycle sequence.
