Hello, everyone!
This time, we have 2 B-Unit cans from a very rare Post-Korean War-era Ration, Combat, Individual (RCI) up for review.
We try out the crackers, jam, cocoa beverage, and most notably - eating half of a can of that 61 year old peanut butter - what has to be by far the oldest recorded peanut butter ever eaten!
About 21 hours later right now, and I am just fine. Had indigestion, and slightly low energy today, but the energy part probably derived from a complete & utter lack of proper rest, as per usual whilst making these YT videos. It's more than worth it for your enjoyment
These cans are approximately twice the dimensional height of the well known MCI (Meal, Combat, Individual, or dubbed: C-Ration) of the Vietnam War-era.
These were bulky, inefficient in stowing in packs, and heavy.
The production of RCI's was from 1950-1958 and then production ceased and were replaced with the MCI in 1959. Units were allocated and utilized to troops until stocks were depleted.

The old Cinderella Peanut Butter plant is now occupied by Golden Peanut Company. The company just did a $18-20 million investment and is now refining its own peanut oil. The company no longer produces the Cinderella Peanut Butter in Dawson and they will be demolishing the old facility soon as the new facility is up and running.

Falleció Susana Duijm, la primera Miss Mundo de Latinoamérica
La tarde de este sábado falleció a los 79 años la primera latinoamericana en ganar el concurso internacional "Miss Mundo", Carmen Susana Duijm Zubillaga, tras sufrir un Accidente Cerebro Vascular (ACV).
La madrugada del pasado jueves, la reina de belleza fue hospitalizada en Margarita, estado Nueva Esparta. Se pudo conocer que el sepelio podría realizarse el próximo lunes.
Duijm cumpliría 80 años el próximo 11 de agosto y trabajaba activamente en una serie de micros radiales para incluirlos en su programa bajo el concepto “La vuelta al mundo en 80 años”, en alusión a su edad.
Duijm nació en Aragua de Barcelona, estado Anzoátegui, el 11 de agosto de 1936. Con cabello negro y ojos café oscuro, en su juventud llegó a medir 1,74 m de estatura.
Vivía en la urbanización Bello Monte y se desempeñaba como oficinista cuando ganó el concurso de Miss Venezuela 1955, realizado en el Salón Naiguatá, del hotel Tamanaco de Caracas, el sábado 9 de julio de 1955.
Según las reglas del concurso, le tocó representar al país en el Miss Universo que ese año se llevó a cabo en Long Beach, California, Estados Unidos y en el que clasificó entre las 15 semifinalistas.
Después del concurso, Duijm fue invitada por Eric Douglas Morley, presidente del concurso Miss Mundo, para participar en su evento.
Después de este llamado reunió el dinero con ayuda de su madrina, Carola Reverón de Behrens y el jueves 20 de octubre de 1955 desfiló como representante de Venezuela en Londres, Inglaterra, ciudad donde venció entre 21 aspirantes para convertirse en la primera hispanoamericana en obtener un título de belleza internacional.
La corona se la entregó la actriz inglesa Eunice Gayson debido a que la anterior Miss Mundo, Antigone Costanda, de Egipto, no pudo asistir debido a las hostilidades entre su país e Inglaterra por la pugna sobre el Canal de Suez.
Como premio, Susana Duijm recibió 500 libras esterlinas, un trofeo de plata y un automóvil deportivo descapotable color rojo, valorado en 1.000 libras esterlinas, el cual envió por barco a Venezuela.
El triunfo lo celebró en el "Café de París", el cual todavía es uno de los salones de eventos más importantes de la capital inglesa.

This time, we have 2 B-Unit cans from a very rare Post-Korean War-era Ration, Combat, Individual (RCI) up for review.
We try out the crackers, jam, cocoa beverage, and most notably - eating half of a can of that 61 year old peanut butter - what has to be by far the oldest recorded peanut butter ever eaten!
About 21 hours later right now, and I am just fine. Had indigestion, and slightly low energy today, but the energy part probably derived from a complete & utter lack of proper rest, as per usual whilst making these YT videos. It's more than worth it for your enjoyment
These cans are approximately twice the dimensional height of the well known MCI (Meal, Combat, Individual, or dubbed: C-Ration) of the Vietnam War-era.
These were bulky, inefficient in stowing in packs, and heavy.
The production of RCI's was from 1950-1958 and then production ceased and were replaced with the MCI in 1959. Units were allocated and utilized to troops until stocks were depleted.

Hello, everyone!
This time, we have 2 B-Unit cans from a very rare Post-Korean War-era Ration, Combat, Individual (RCI) up for review.
We try out the crackers, jam, cocoa beverage, and most notably - eating half of a can of that 61 year old peanut butter - what has to be by far the oldest recorded peanut butter ever eaten!
About 21 hours later right now, and I am just fine. Had indigestion, and slightly low energy today, but the energy part probably derived from a complete & utter lack of proper rest, as per usual whilst making these YT videos. It's more than worth it for your enjoyment
These cans are approximately twice the dimensional height of the well known MCI (Meal, Combat, Individual, or dubbed: C-Ration) of the Vietnam War-era.
These were bulky, inefficient in stowing in packs, and heavy.
The production of RCI's was from 1950-1958 and then production ceased and were replaced with the MCI in 1959. Units were allocated and utilized to troops until stocks were depleted.

The old Cinderella Peanut Butter plant is now occupied by Golden Peanut Company. The company just did a $18-20 million investment and is now refining its own peanut oil. La tarde de este sábado falleció a los 79 años la primera latinoamericana en ganar el concurso internacional "Miss Mundo", Carmen Susana Duijm Zubillaga, tras sufrir un Accidente Cerebro Vascular (ACV).
La madrugada del pasado jueves, la reina de belleza fue hospitalizada en Margarita, estado Nueva Esparta. Se pudo conocer que el sepelio podría realizarse el próximo lunes.
Duijm cumpliría 80 años el próximo 11 de agosto y trabajaba activamente en una serie de micros radiales para incluirlos en su programa bajo el concepto “La vuelta al mundo en 80 años”, en alusión a su edad.
Duijm nació en Aragua de Barcelona, estado Anzoátegui, el 11 de agosto de 1936. Con cabello negro y ojos café oscuro, en su juventud llegó a medir 1,74 m de estatura.
Vivía en la urbanización Bello Monte y se desempeñaba como oficinista cuando ganó el concurso de Miss Venezuela 1955, realizado en el Salón Naiguatá, del hotel Tamanaco de Caracas, el sábado 9 de julio de 1955.
Según las reglas del concurso, le tocó representar al país en el Miss Universo que ese año se llevó a cabo en Long Beach, California, Estados Unidos y en el que clasificó entre las 15 semifinalistas.
Después del concurso, Duijm fue invitada por Eric Douglas Morley, presidente del concurso Miss Mundo, para participar en su evento.
Después de este llamado reunió el dinero con ayuda de su madrina, Carola Reverón de Behrens y el jueves 20 de octubre de 1955 desfiló como representante de Venezuela en Londres, Inglaterra, ciudad donde venció entre 21 aspirantes para convertirse en la primera hispanoamericana en obtener un título de belleza internacional.
La corona se la entregó la actriz inglesa Eunice Gayson debido a que la anterior Miss Mundo, Antigone Costanda, de Egipto, no pudo asistir debido a las hostilidades entre su país e Inglaterra por la pugna sobre el Canal de Suez.
Como premio, Susana Duijm recibió 500 libras esterlinas, un trofeo de plata y un automóvil deportivo descapotable color rojo, valorado en 1.000 libras esterlinas, el cual envió por barco a Venezuela.
El triunfo lo celebró en el "Café de París", el cual todavía es uno de los salones de eventos más importantes de la capital inglesa.
