Hello folks, this week we'd like to share with you our trip to Algonquin nation park. We set aside our motor boat and instead went canoeing out into the tea-stained waters, geared up with two-piece fishing rods as we went fishing for those lovely smallmouth bass.
We share with you some tips and techniques on catching smallmouth bass in tea-stained, yet very clear, water. We're joined today with Antonio "The Boatless Angler", Lisa, Vincenzo, and myself.
We had an outstanding day canoeing on the water and catching those smallmouth bass, and I'm glad we can share it with you.

Algonquin Provincial Park is a provincial park located between Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River in Central Ontario, Canada, mostly within the Unorganized South Part of Nipissing District. Established in 1893, it is the oldest provincial park in Canada. Additions since its creation have increased the park to its current size of about 7653 square kilometres. For comparison purposes, this is about one and a half times the size of Prince Edward Island or the US state of Delaware and about a quarter the size of Belgium. The park is contiguous with a number of smaller, administratively separate provincial parks that protect important rivers in the area, resulting in a total protected area somewhat larger yet.
Its size, combined with its proximity to the major urban centres of Toronto and Ottawa, makes Algonquin one of the most popular provincial parks in the province and the entire country. Highway 60 runs through the south of the park, while the Trans-Canada Highway bypasses it to the north.

Thanks to Tim Ervick for this great footage. We have been in contact with Tim of Ontario Wildlife Field Research-Ontario Bigfoot about this video since Sunday and they finally received permission from the original owner to release the video. The original was over an hour long, but it has been shortened and slowed down significantly in order to see the Bigfoot standing by the side of the road. The witness supposedly attached a GoPro camera to the bumper of his truck and captured this amazing image of a possible Bigfoot from the Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada: Special thanks to the Ontario Wildlife Field Research-Ontario Bigfoot for sharing the video with us. -

Hello folks, this week we'd like to share with you our trip to Algonquin nation park. We set aside our motor boat and instead went canoeing out into the tea-stained waters, geared up with two-piece fishing rods as we went fishing for those lovely smallmouth bass.
We share with you some tips and techniques on catching smallmouth bass in tea-stained, yet very clear, water. We're joined today with Antonio "The Boatless Angler", Lisa, Vincenzo, and myself.
We had an outstanding day canoeing on the water and catching those smallmouth bass, and I'm glad we can share it with you.

We have been in contact with Tim of Ontario Wildlife Field Research-Ontario Bigfoot about this video since Sunday and they finally received permission from the original owner to release the video. The original was over an hour long, but it has been shortened and slowed down significantly in order to see the Bigfoot standing by the side of the road.
The witness supposedly attached a GoPro camera to the bumper of his truck and captured this amazing image of a possible Bigfoot from the Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada:

Dinosaur Provincial Park: Alberta Parks. Dinosaur Provincial Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located about two and a half hours drive southeast of Calgary, Alberta, Canada or 48 kilometres (30 mi), about a half hour drive, northeast of Brooks. The park is situated in the valley of the Red Deer River, which is noted for its striking badland topography. The park is well known for being one of the richest dinosaur fossil locales in the world. Forty dinosaur species have been discovered at the park and more than 500 specimens have been removed and exhibited in museums across the globe. The renowned fossil assemblage of nearly 500 species of life, from microscopic fern spores to large carnivorous dinosaurs, justified it becoming a World Heritage Site in 1979. -

The video is short as we didn't film much but it provides a brief overview of the trail and area. Overall the Highland Backpacking Trail is an excellent trail that users can hike in 19km or 35km loops. Spring or fall are some of the best times to explore the trail.

Winter adventure continues, this time behind the seat of a powerful and nearly new Yamaha snowmobile to see even more of the wonderful views at a quicker speed. We practice turns on a beginner route before moving into a higher gear and even more scenic terrain throughout Deerhurst Adventure Park. Now that I am feeling comfortable riding, I pick up speed on a flat stretch for one last rush. Temperatures can be fiercely cold, but guides make sure we are suited up with heavy duty outwear, including suits, boots and gloves, that keep us warm for the entire ride.
To wind down the day, we rent snowshoes from our home base, Deerhurst Resort, before trekking to Lookout Point for the ultimate Muskoka view. Our guide leads us through thick forests on the one-mile climb to the top to watch the sunset over the town.

Me and my hubby drove west to east early October 2012. We travelled low budget for approximately $50 p.p. a day, fuel included. We slept in our van and cooked our own meals above a campfire. http://www.tour-guide-canada.com/cheap-road-trips.html
We had an unforgettable time and our memories from rumbling waterfalls, the majestic Rocky Mountains with turquoise coloured lakes, and northern lights above Alberta and Ontario's Algonquin Park's skies, 2 impressive huge bull moose during a hike along Cape Breton, Nova Scotia will last forever. We enjoyed beautiful fall foliage from Sault St Marie all the way to the Maritimes, we walked at low tide around Hopewell Rock and came back at high tide with 12 metres difference as the Bay of Fundy has worlds biggest tidal fluctuations. We loved Saskatchewan's endless skies, and imagined ourselves in France when driving through, and visiting Quebec villages and historical Kings Road/ Chemin du Roy.

Skiing across Canisbay Lake on February 22, 2016. Temps were around -15C, there was about 12-14" ice thickness with another 18" snow on top. 6" snow crust with excellent glide and flotation. -

2015 Winter Hike (using boots) - Algonquin Park - Mizzy Lake Trail
On April 5, 2015, I walked the Mizzy Lake Trail using hiking boots (I took snowshoes just in case). The morning was -8 C and it went to -3 C, so the crust was hard, and stayed hard. The wind kept the sun from raising the temperature above 0 C in the forest and open areas. From the many holes along the trail, you can see what happens if temperatures go above 0 C like the day before (+ 5 C). Most holes were 60 cm (2 ft) deep, but some were 1 m (3 ft). I fell through about 20 times where the wind was blocked and the sun shone. This film is really meant only for those who have an interest in seeing what the trail looks like during a winter outing. It's for those who may not be able to do this. The trail is 12 km long, and took me 4 - 1/2 hours. -

On April 5, 2015, I walked the Mizzy Lake Trail using hiking boots (I took snowshoes just in case). The morning was -8 C and it went to -3 C, so the crust was hard, and stayed hard. The wind kept the sun from raising the temperature above 0 C in the forest and open areas. From the many holes along the trail, you can see what happens if temperatures go above 0 C like the day before (+ 5 C). Most holes were 60 cm (2 ft) deep, but some were 1 m (3 ft). I fell through about 20 times where the wind was blocked and the sun shone. This film is really meant only for those who have an interest in seeing what the trail looks like during a winter outing. It's for those who may not be able to do this. The trail is 12 km long, and took me 4 - 1/2 hours.

Part 1, Algonquin Park, Tim Lake Solo Camping August 2013
This is my first time back to Tim Lake in Algonquin Park in 8 years. I spent 6 nights from Sunday August 4th to Saturday August 10th. I usually camp at the same spot on this lake every time I'm in here. Over the years I've Probably spent 200 nights on the island. This is a video blog of this trip. I usually set up a base camp, and go out every day from there. I've been Solo camping in Algonquin since 1985. Took 8 years off because my Kids said I was getting too old to spend that much time alone in the woods, so I bought a bigger Canoe (Ebbtide Cruiser, sleeps 4, 27 feet long). 5 Day Canoe Trip With My Wife and Dog, Algonquin Park, Ontario
Did a bit more footage and added music to our regular campsite video tours this time. This is the longest trip we have done and it went very well due to our preparation and experience. It can easily be done by intermediate paddlers/campers or beginners if they have at least one person who is very experienced. Paddling distances aren't too bad but some of the portages are quite difficult due to the terrain. The trip could easily be shortened or made longer by a day or two with only slight adjustments though to suit your preferences. Quite a bit of portaging on this trip, some interesting weather and by the end, the bugs were out in full force. This is Part 2 of my Tim Lake Camping Video Blog.. Lots of Loons, nice views.. Tim Lake is a easy paddle into Algonquin, except when the wind is blowing hard. My trip out at the end consisted of battling a 15-20k wind all the way back to the parking lot. There are 6 campsites on the lake, most of them not particularly good for children. Sharp drop offs into deep water, and lots of kiddie loving leaches. Once you find a good place to camp with children, you have to train children to camp in the woods. Among other things, you should inform them that BEARS love little children. If their nice and quiet, the BEARS will not know they are even there. But, once they start yelling, screaming, crying, the BEARS will know Exactly where they are and come looking for them..........At Night..........In... -

This is my first time back to Tim Lake in Algonquin Park in 8 years. I spent 6 nights from Sunday August 4th to Saturday August 10th. I usually camp at the same spot on this lake every time I'm in here. Over the years I've Probably spent 200 nights on the island. This is a video blog of this trip. I usually set up a base camp, and go out every day from there. I've been Solo camping in Algonquin since 1985. Took 8 years off because my Kids said I was getting too old to spend that much time alone in the woods, so I bought a bigger Canoe (Ebbtide Cruiser, sleeps 4, 27 feet long). But that type of boating was not for me so I sold it, and I'm back in the park every summer until I'm 'really' too old to do this any more.. Don't forget to watch part two, it's shorter, but more loon calls, and the windy paddle back.

Did a bit more footage and added music to our regular campsite video tours this time.
This is the longest trip we have done and it went very well due to our preparation and experience. It can easily be done by intermediate paddlers/campers or beginners if they have at least one person who is very experienced. Paddling distances aren't too bad but some of the portages are quite difficult due to the terrain. The trip could easily be shortened or made longer by a day or two with only slight adjustments though to suit your preferences.

I highly recommend buying these maps but it is available online for free as well. I bought all 4 of the Algonquin maps and the Killarney one came as part of a deal, and they are great. Extremely detailed and they are waterproof, float, and are durable.

Tim Lake is a easy paddle into Algonquin, except when the wind is blowing hard. My trip out at the end consisted of battling a 15-20k wind all the way back to the parking lot. There are 6 campsites on the lake, most of them not particularly good for children. Sharp drop offs into deep water, and lots of kiddie loving leaches. Once you find a good place to camp with children, you have to train children to camp in the woods. Among other things, you should inform them that BEARS love little children. If their nice and quiet, the BEARS will not know they are even there. But, once they start yelling, screaming, crying, the BEARS will know Exactly where they are and come looking for them..........At Night..........In The Dark...(''')-.-(''')
So, If your camping the interior of Algonquin, please keep your children quiet for every ones sake. Particularly theirs! The BEARS, and other campers will appreciate it! You might even get to see some other wildlife....They appreciate quiet too... :=)
