Anna Bond

Anna Bond (Kannada: ಅಣ್ಣ ಬಾಂಡ್) is a romantic action Kannada film written and directed by Duniya Soori. Produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar, it stars Puneet Rajkumar, Nidhi Subbaiah and Priyamani in the lead roles and Jackie Shroff in a negative role. The movie was released on 1 May 2012.V. Harikrishna was the music director for the film.

Anna Bond opened to lacklustre reviews. It was mentioned on "The Most Disappointing Kannada Films of 2012" list by Rediff, and got a thumbs down from critics.

Plot

Bond Ravi (Puneeth Rajkumar) is a generous guy, who has the tendency of helping others. He is a karate champ who works in a medical camp of Singapore. He meets Meera (Priyamani) on a bus and falls in love with her charm. One day, Meera visits the same village where Bond Ravi lives to make a documentary film. She stays with her friend Divya (Nidhi Subbaiah).

Love with Meera increases for Ravi. When Meera is about to leave the village, she tells him to make something big in life. Ravi, along with Chapathi Babu (Rangayana Raghu), leaves his village. On the way he meets a military guy, Chandrakanth (Avinash), who mistakes the identity of Bond Ravi in the forest.

Puneeth Rajkumar

Puneeth Rajkumar (Kannada: ಪುನೀತ್ ರಾಜ್‌ಕುಮಾರ್; born 17 March 1975), is an Indian film actor, playback singer and television presenter who mostly works in Kannada cinema. He has appeared 23 films as a lead actor, prior to which he had a career as a child artiste appearing in films to which his father Rajkumar appeared in lead roles. As a child artist, his performances in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983) and Bettada Hoovu (1985) received appreciation. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. His first film in a lead role came in the 2002 in Appu. He went on to appear in other commercial successful films over the years, such as Abhi (2003), Aakash (2005), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007), Jackie (2010), Hudugaru (2011), Paramathma (2011), "Power" (2014), "Mythri" (2015) and "Rana Vikrama" (2015), establishing him as one of the leading contemporary actors in Kannada cinema.

Nidhi Subbaiah

Nidhi Subbaiah (born 16 February 1986) is an Indian film actress and model, who has appeared in various television advertisements and in South Indian Films, she rose to fame by acting in few successful Kannada films such as Pancharangi (2010) and Krishnan Marriage Story (2011) and "Anna Bond". Both these films brought her nominations for South Filmfare Awards and the latter film won her SIIMA Special Appreciation Award-Kannada.

Early life

Nidhi was born on 16 February 1986 in the Kodagu district of Karnataka as the only child to Bollachanda Subhash Subbaiah and Jhansi Subbaiah. Soon afterwards, her family later moved to Gokulam in the historic city of Mysore, where she spent most of her childhood and pursued her education. An alumnus of St. Joseph's Central, Mysore, she went on to study civil Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore. She dropped out in the 1st year as her modelling career took off and this ultimately led her to pursue a career in acting. Currently she lives in Mumbai, after getting offers from Bollywood.

Duniya Soori

Suri (Kannada: ಸೂರಿ), also known as Soori, Duniya Suri or Raw director is a movie director from India. He became known as Duniya Suri in the wake of the success of his debut movie Duniya, for which he won the 2006–2007 Karnataka State Film Awards in the Best Screenplay category. Suri came to fame after the Duniya release, for its realistic style. The work brought a different dimension to Kannada movies.

His second film Inthi Ninna Preethiya though critically acclaimed, performed poorly at the box office, while his next project Junglee was a greater critical and commercial success. Recent projects include the film Jackie with Puneet Rajkumar which was declared the blockbuster of 2010 and was adjudged the Best Film of 2010 at the South Filmfare Awards. After the success of Jackie in 2010, Soori teamed up with Puneeth Rajkumar again in Anna Bond which released on May 1, 2012 and broke all previous Sandalwood opening records.

Early life

With a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts in 1999 from Kalamandira School of Arts - Bangalore, he extensively worked in visual arts, television and documentaries before getting the big break in his directorial debut film ‘Duniya’ in 2006. He started his own signboard business at an early age of 12 and successfully expanded his works to various parts of India through wall paintings, portraits, interior decoration, window displays and art reproduction works before deciding to pursue a degree in Visual Arts. His works in stage and art continued even during his Kalamandira days and as a reflection, his films are also well known for excellent art work.
