Suzanne Basso

Suzanne Margaret "Sue" Basso (née Burns; May 15, 1954 – February 5, 2014) was an American woman who was one of six co-defendants convicted in the August 1998 murder of Louis "Buddy" Musso, a mentally disabled man, who was tortured and murdered for his life insurance money. She was sentenced to death in October 1999. Basso was executed by lethal injection on February 5, 2014. Prior to her execution, Basso had been held at the Mountain View Unit in Gatesville, Texas, where all of Texas's female death row inmates are incarcerated. At the time of this crime, Basso lived in Jacinto City, Texas, a Houston suburb.

Buddy Musso had been married previously and had a son with his wife. She died of cancer in 1980. In 1997 Musso was living in an assisted living house in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, near New York City, and he worked as a bagger at a ShopRite. In 1997, at age 58, he met Suzanne Basso, who was 43 at the time, at a church bazaar near his house. They started a long-distance relationship and he planned to move to Texas with Basso. He moved to the Houston area on June 14, 1998.

Crag and tail

A crag (sometimes spelled cragg, or in Scotland craig) is a rocky hill or mountain, generally isolated from other high ground. Crags are formed when a glacier or ice sheet passes over an area that contains a particularly resistant rock formation (often a granite, volcanic plug or some other volcanic structure). The force of the glacier erodes the surrounding softer material, leaving the rocky block protruding from the surrounding terrain. Frequently the crag serves as a partial shelter to softer material in the wake of the glacier, which remains as a gradual fan or ridge forming a tapered ramp (called the tail) up the leeward side of the crag.

In older examples, or those latterly surrounded by the sea, the tail is often missing, having been removed by post-glacial erosion.

Ahrens Aircraft Corporation

Ahrens Aircraft Corporation was an aircraft manufacturer established at Oxnard, California in 1975 to develop a STOL regional airliner and cargo aircraft, the AR 404. The firm secured a deal with the Government of Puerto Rico to assist with development costs if the aircraft could be produced there. A prototype was actually constructed in that country, and plans were underway to build a factory at Ramey, Puerto Rico, but financial backing was withdrawn and the project was abandoned.
