Dej Loaf

Deja Trimble (born April 8, 1991), better known by her stage name Dej Loaf (stylized as DeJ Loaf), is an American rapper and singer from Detroit, Michigan. She began her music career in 2011, and released her debut mixtape Just Do It in 2012. In October 2014, she released her second mixtape, Sell Sole.

DeJ Loaf rose to greater popularity in 2014 with her single "Try Me", which initially attained viral internet popularity and has peaked at number 45 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song was certified Gold on April 3, 2015 in the US.

She was chosen as part of the XXL Magazine 2015 Freshman Class.

Early life

Deja Trimble was born on April 8, 1991 in Detroit, Michigan and was raised on the Eastside of the city. Growing up, she often listened to music with her parents and grandmother, ranging "from 2Pac to Rakim to Miles Davis." Her father was killed when she was four years old. A self-described "good kid and a decent student" who mostly kept to herself, she began writing her own original music as early as nine years old. She graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit, MI in 2009, played basketball up to the junior varsity level, and later attended Saginaw Valley State University to study nursing for three semesters before deciding to focus on a full-time music career.

Dej

Dej (Romanian pronunciation: [deʒ]; Hungarian: Dés; German: Desch, Burglos; Yiddish: דעעש‎) is a city in northwestern Romania, 60 km north of Cluj-Napoca, in Cluj County. It lies where the Someşul Mic River meets the river Someşul Mare River. The city administers four villages: Ocna Dejului (Désakna), Peştera (Pestes), Pintic (Oláhpéntek) and Şomcutu Mic (Kissomkút).

The city lies at the crossroads of important railroads and highways linking it to Cluj-Napoca, Baia Mare, Satu Mare, Deda, Bistriţa, and Vatra Dornei.

Name

According to a legend, floating Hungarian tribes stopped for a rest at the place which would later be the location of the city. They were praying, and shouted "Deus" (God in Latin) three times. In fact, the name of the city is also the origin of the personal name, Des. The Romanian and German names of the city come from the Hungarian.

History

Massive salt reserves were found in the area in Roman times. The Dej fortress was built sometime between 1214 and 1235.

King Andrew II of Hungary raised Dés to the privileged status of a free royal town. In 1241 the city was invaded by Tatars. The old mines were exhausted by 1717; the new mines are still in operation today. Some of the galleries of the salt mine are believed to be more than 15 kilometers long. The population of Dej used to consist mostly of Transylvanian Saxons, who settled here from Germany; their number decreased over centuries.

Loaf

A loaf is a shape, usually rounded or oblong, mass of food. It may refer to a whole article of bread, or meatloaf. Technically, any unit of bread is called a "loaf", no matter what its shape, and the loaf can therefore vary in the ratio of length to width, and in its roundness. However, it is common to bake bread in a rectangular bread pan, also called a loaf pan, because different kinds of bread dough have different levels of viscosity, meaning that some doughs will tend to collapse and spread out more than others during the cooking process. Doughs with a thicker viscosity can be hand-molded into the desired loaf shape, and cooked without using any kind of walled pan. However, using a bread pan with sides higher than the height of the uncooked dough maintains the shape of doughs with a thinner viscosity, and allows multiple loaves to be cooked with different dough recipes while maintaining approximately the same shape.

The same principle applies to non-bread products such as meatloaf that are cooked so as to retain their shape during the cooking process. In determining the size of the loaf, the cook or baker must take into consideration the need for cooking heat to penetrate the loaf evenly during the cooking process, so that no parts are overcooked or undercooked. Many kinds of mass-produced bread products are distinctly squared, with well-defined corners on the bottom of the loaf. This is in part because it is easier to consistently cook identical loaves of bread in a rectangular form than in a more curved form, and in part because rectangular loaves can be packed for shipping more efficiently.

Jacquees

Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, better known by his stage name Jacquees , is an American singer-songwriter from Decatur, Georgia.

Seeing the recognition as a solo artist, Jacquees also worked with artists, such as Issa Thompson, T.I., Jagged Edge, Travis Porter, Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug, Trinidad James, August Alsina and Chris Brown, among others.

In 2014, Jacquees has signed a recording contract deal and its management to Cash Money Records.

Musical career

At the age of 9, Jacquees found his passion for both singing and dancing, with its influences from The Jackson’s: An American Dream and The Temptations movies; imitating no less than the greatest. Jacquees participated in his first talent show, during his fifth grade at Canby Lane Elementary School; performing the Jackson 5′s, "I Want You Back", which he won first place. He successfully matriculated to Mary McCleod Bethune Middle School, where he continued competing in talent shows, winning every year; two at Bethune Middle and one at the Dekalb County Middle School Talent Show.

Lil Durk

Durk Banks (born October 19, 1992), better known by his stage name Lil Durk is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He is signed to the major record label Def Jam and French Montana's Coke Boys imprint.

Early life

Banks was raised in Englewood, a neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. He is also a member of the Black Disciples

Musical career

Durk was affiliated with Glory Boyz Entertainment early in his career but never signed. He considered rap as a full-time career after the release of his two singles, "Sneak Dissin" and "Ima Hitta", which received generally positive feedback. In December 2012, Durk released a remix to his song "L's Anthem" featuring French Montana On May 21, 2013, Lil Durk inked a deal on French Montana's label, Coke Boys.

After a couple of delays, on October 10, 2013, his fourth mixtape Signed To the Streets was released on DatPiff under his own label OTF and Coke Boys. It features two guest appearances from Lil Reese and production credits from Paris Bueller, Young Chop and more. 8 music videos have been released for the mixtape: "Bars Pt. 2", "Oh My God", "100 Rounds", "Dis Ain't What U Want", "Bang Bros", "Traumatized", "Hittaz" and "Times". Signed to the Streets would be named the eighth best mixtape of 2013 by Rolling Stone. On October 22, 2013, in an interview with XXL Lil Durk said he was working on his debut album with Def Jam and the Coke Boys collaboration album. He was planning to release his fifth mixtape, Fuckery, on January 5, 2014. However, on January 6, 2014, Lil Durk stated on Twitter that Def Jam told him not to release the free mixtape. Durk was named part of the 2014 XXL Freshmen Class.
