Moon

The Moon (in Greek: σελήνη Selene, in Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite. It is one of the largest natural satellites in the Solar System, and, among planetary satellites, the largest relative to the size of the planet it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite among those whose densities are known (after Jupiter's satellite Io).

The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. There are several hypotheses for its origin; the most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.

The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earth's sky after the Sun, as measured by illuminance on Earth's surface. Although it can appear a very bright white, its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art, and mythology.

Aira Yuhki

Aira Yuhki (結城 アイラ, Yūki Aira, born August 28, 1981) is a female Japanese singer attached to record label Lantis and belongs to the Space Craft Group agency. She began her career in 2007 and since then has primarily sung songs that were used for theme music in anime. She has released nine singles and released her debut album Reflection on July 2, 2008. Her second album Eternalize. was released on June 9, 2010.

Career

2007–2010

Aira Yuhki debuted with the release of her first single on April 25, 2007, "Colorless Wind" as the opening theme for the anime Sola. The single went on to enter the Oricon charts eleven times with a peak ranking at 44th place. Her second single was released on August 8, 2007 with the title track, "Zankoku yo Kibō to Nare" (残酷よ希望となれ) being the second opening theme for the anime Idolmaster Xenoglossia. The single charted four times with a peak ranking at number 49. Yuhki released her third single "Sekai no Namida" (セカイノナミダ) on February 6, 2008 as the ending theme of True Tears. Like her second single, "Sekai no Namida" charted four times on the Oricon chart with the peak ranking at number 48. On July 2, 2008, she released her first album, Reflection. The album only entered the chart once, ranking at number 148.

Shannon McNally

Shannon Maureen McNally (born March 17, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter.

Biography

McNally was born in Hempstead, on Long Island. While studying anthropology at Franklin and Marshall College, she began singing and playing guitar in clubs. After graduating and honing her skills on the streets of Paris as a busker, McNally secured a deal with Capitol Records in 1997. McNally was intent on making an acoustic record and entered the studio with studio professionals including Jim Keltner, Benmont Tench, and Greg Leisz. The resulting album Jukebox Sparrows was not released at the time.

In the interim, McNally opened for Stevie Nicks and Ryan Adams, and was part of the 1999 Girl's Room tour with Tara MacLean, Kendall Payne, and Amy Correia. She also modeled for Urban Decay cosmetics. In 2000, McNally issued the holdover EP Bolder Than Paradise. When Capitol finally issued Jukebox Sparrows in January 2002, it did so into a market that had already embraced such roots-flavored material as Ryan Adams and the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack. McNally embarked on a press tour, and spent the summer of that year supporting John Mellencamp. In late 2002, she released the Ran on Pure Lightning EP, a collaboration with songwriter Neal Casal.
