At a Natural Resources Committee hearing Friday on oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) mistakenly addressed the professor as "Dr. Rice" while calling his testimony "garbage."
Brinkley interrupted, saying: "It's Dr. Brinkley, Rice is a university," and "I know you went to Yuba [Community College in California] and couldn't graduate — "
Then it was Young's turn to interrupt. "I'll call you anything I want to call you when you sit in that chair," he told the witness. "You just be quiet."
Brinkley countered: "You don't own me. I pay your salary. I work for the private sector and you work for the taxpayer."

Donald Edwin "Don" Young (born June 9, 1933) is the U.S. Representative for Alaska's At-large congressional district, serving since 1973. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Young is the 6th most senior U.S. Representative and the 2nd most senior Republican Representative, as well as the 2nd most senior Republican in Congress as a whole. Upon the defeat of Senator Ted Stevens, Young became the senior member of the Alaska congressional delegation.
Young was born in Meridian, Sutter County, California. He earned an associate's degree in education from Yuba College in 1952 and a bachelor's degree from Chico State College in 1958. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957.
Young moved to Alaska in 1959, not long after it became a state. He eventually settled in Fort Yukon, a 700-person city on the Yukon River, seven miles (11 km) above the Arctic Circle in Alaska’s central interior region. He made a living in construction, fishing, trapping and gold mining. He captained a tugboat and ran a barge operation to deliver products and supplies to villages along the Yukon River. He still holds his mariner's license today. During the winter, he taught fifth grade at the local Bureau of Indian Affairs elementary school.

Jay Wayne Jenkins (born October 12, 1977), better known by his stage name Young Jeezy, is an American rapper. He is a member of the hip hop group United Streets Dopeboyz of America (USDA) and a former member of BMF (Black Mafia Family). He began his career in 2001 under an independent label and joined Boyz 'N Da Hood in 2005, the same year his solo major label debut Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 was released. Its single "Soul Survivor", which featured Akon, became a top-ten hit in the US.
The Inspiration followed in 2006, and The Recession followed in 2008; both albums yielded chart-topping singles. Jeezy has also appeared on numerous other rap and R&B singles such as "Say I" by Christina Milian, "I'm So Paid" by Akon, "Hard" by Rihanna, and "Love in This Club" by Usher, the latter being a number one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2008.
Jay Wayne Jenkins was born in Columbia, South Carolina and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia when he was a toddler. Because his parents were separated, custody of him transferred between family members frequently. In an interview with XXL magazine, he described his childhood as "empty". In 1994, he spent nine months in YCA (Youth Challenge Academy), a boot camp in Fort Stewart, Georgia, for narcotics possession.

Jamal Fincher Jones (born October 15), better known by professional name Polow da Don or Awesome Jones, is an American record producer, songwriter, rapper, and singer. His cousin is Atlanta singer Monica. He has produced for a variety of artists including Usher, Chris Brown, Nelly, Christina Aguilera, T.I. and Rihanna.
Polow was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His mother was born in Japan. As a teenager in the mid-1990s, he listened to groups such as UGK, the Geto Boys, and 8Ball & MJG. His younger sister, Karesha, helped him learn how to play the keyboards and use MPC equipment, he is the cousin of Monica. Polow played football and basketball for the Mount Vernon Christian Academy prep school. After earning good grades, he enrolled in Morehouse College. While halfway through a bachelor's degree in accounting, he left college to pursue a rap career with his group Jim Crow. The group signed to Sony Records in 1999 where they released two albums—Crow's Nest (1999) and Right Quick (2001)—before being dropped. Although disappointed, Polow formed a Southern hip hop group with Bubba Sparxxx, Sean P, Pastor Troy, G Rock, and Timbaland. However, they also split up without any releases. Polow started making beats around 2001. His first beat tape made its way to Interscope Records president Jimmy Iovine. The beats were eventually used for the tracks "Runaway Love" by Ludacris, "Buttons" by the Pussycat Dolls, and "This Is the Life" by Tru-Life, among others. Polow da Don is in the process of revamping his label, Zone 4 Incorporated, by signing many new artists. Zone 4's new talent include Veronica Vega, Dan Talevski (Youtube sensation), Jared Evans, and Esther Dean (Drop It Low ft. Chris Brown). Aside from music production & artist development, Polow spends time developing his non-profit, Celebration for a Cause (C4AC). In July 2012, he had his 2nd annual C4AC event.

Brinkley interrupted, saying: "It's Dr. Brinkley, Rice is a university," and "I know you went to Yuba [Community College in California] and couldn't graduate — "
Then it was Young's turn to interrupt. "I'll call you anything I want to call you when you sit in that chair," he told the witness. "You just be quiet."
Brinkley countered: "You don't own me. I pay your salary. I work for the private sector and you work for the taxpayer."

We caught up with Young Chop down in Atlanta for the A3C Music Festival, where he tells us the true story behind the Chief Keef 'I Don't Like' Remix feat. Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T, and Jadakiss.

In an exclusive interview with DJBooth during A3C, the beatmaker details when Kanye West first hit him up. “He wanted beats,” he recalls. “He wanted that sound.” Chop goes on to discuss how ‘Ye didn’t reach out until he was producing for everyone in Keef’s circle, but at that point he believes he didn’t need a co-sign.
“He was taking from us,” Chop continues. “I was reading credits [for Cruel Summer] and it says Kanye West featuring Chief Keef. I was trying to figure out how in the fuck the name change occurred. The problem I had with it was I asked him to let me hear the record before it dropped. Was it wrong for me to ask that? It’s my record.”
As he has discussed in past interviews, Chop wanted to at least be a part of the process, considering he produced the original record. He wasn’t happy hearing it at the same time as the public nor was he appreciative of what was added to the production.
People will undoubtedly have different views than Young Chop on this matter, but he knows the situation he was put in and doesn’t believe he benefited from how it played out.
Transcript: Listen- the problem I have with Kanye is... when you see some young individuals that already, you know, makin a name for theyself, and built theyself up to a certain point... when we did Don't Like, we was already lowkey quote unquote "famous," we already had millions of views. So when he came into the picture, this how he came into the picture, to get beats, from me. His cousin Don C came into the room like "Nah, Ye wanna get on Don't Like." I was like "I'm cool, I'm cool with that." Niggas don't know the story behind that, he came to get beats from me. He wanted beats, he wanted that sound, you see what I'm saying? He wasn't coming for me, he didn't come and help me. He seen what I was doing like damn, this young nigga really producing the whole shit, making chicago what it is now, you see what I'm saying? Yeah, he was taking from us, you feel what I'm saying? And when I read the credits, on the song, it said Kanye West featuring Chief Keef, and it's our record. How did the name change occur? The problem that I really had with it, I asked him to let me hear the record before it dropped. Was it wrong for me to ask that? It was my record. I was in Atlanta, Bruh! The first time I heard it, I was in Atlanta, I heard it for the first time on the radio. That shit hit like a motherfuckin ticking time bomb. And I'm like "bro!" It's not like I didn't like the record, I fuck with the record. I didn't hate on it. It was the point that you didn't send it to me. I wanted to hear it before everybody else heard it. That was some sneaky shit going on, he added shit to it, you feel me? Now everyone's talking all this shit "It's just the remix, it's just the remix!" I understand that, but you don't run about the original producer? Like, nigga, I mixed that-- I recorded that song myself. I recorded it, mixed it and everything, so why would I not wanna hear that? And then they're mad that I didn't send the track out. Like hell nah you ain't gettin my track out.

Taking time out of his busy schedule, Young Thug made a surprise visit to Sway in the Morning today talk wardrobe style, music style and much, much more. With a unique style that traces back to younger days, Thug jokes that transition to what some would call 'feminine' fashion comes from hanging around so many women all day.
When asked about his musical style we hear Thug speak on his decision to take rapping seriously in 2007 after his brother was locked up. As for influences, Thug cites only Lil Wayne as someone he looked up to growing up.
Coming from a family with 10 other brothers and sisters, Thug speaks on having 6 kids on his own and elaborates on them being the most important thing in his life. "I live for my family," Thug says as he also covers the Plies Instagram incident. Commenting on controversy already, Thug says he would still make music with Game even though they've had a previous misunderstanding.
We know Young Thug is in the studio all the time, but we don't always know who he's in there with. With rumors swirling of a big collaboration with Kanye coming, Thug says him and Kanye have lots of things going on right now. Whether this is work that will be featured on "Swish" we don't know, but stay tuned for any more updates.
