Leawood Pumphouse is an 1849 stationary beam steam pumping engine alongside the Cromford Canal to the south of Matlock in Derbyshire. The steam is generated by two locomotive boilers. Each stroke of the plunger pumps about 4 tons / 800 gallons from the River Derwent into the Cromford Canal.

Leawood /ˈliːwʊd/ is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States. The city is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri and is part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 31,867.
For many years, Leawood upheld a ban on fast food establishments within the city limits. Since the late 1990s the ordinances prohibiting gas stations and fast food restaurants have been revoked.
Leawood is located at 38°55′15″N 94°37′20″W / 38.92083°N 94.62222°W / 38.92083; -94.62222 (38.920802, -94.622118). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 15.1 square miles (39 km2), of which, 15.1 square miles (39 km2) of it is land and 0.07% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 27,656 people, 9,841 households, and 8,118 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,833.4 people per square mile (708.1/km²). There were 10,129 housing units at an average density of 671.5 per square mile (259.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.19% White, 1.46% African American, 0.14% Native American, 2.18% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.25% from other races, and 0.77% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.30% of the population.

Little Free Library violates Leawood city code
Spencer Collins, 9, of Leawood talks about his Little Free Library he made with his grandfather. The free-standing little library was installed into the front yard of his home in Leawood offering free books to readers. The City of Leawood notified the family that the structure violated city codes and would have to be removed. They also faced a fine of $25 per day for non-compliance. The structure would need to be attached to the house to be compliant. For now, Spencer and his family will store their Little Free Library in the garage. This is Leawood Pump in the Derbyshire village of Cromford. It was built in 1849 to pump water from the river Derwent into the Cromford Canal.
