The Highway, formerly known as the Ratcliffe Highway, is a road in the East End of London.
The route dates back to Roman times. In the 19th century it had a notorious reputation for vice and crime and was the location of the infamous Ratcliff Highway murders. The name 'Ratcliffe' literally means 'red cliff', referring to the red sandstone cliffs which descended from the plateau on which the road was situated down to the Wapping Marshes to the south.
The Highway runs west-east from the eastern edge of London's financial district, the City of London, to Limehouse. It runs parallel to and south of Commercial Road, the Docklands Light Railway and Cable Street. It connects East Smithfield and the Limehouse Link tunnel.
The road forms an unofficial boundary of Wapping, which lies between the River Thames and The Highway. It is also close to Shadwell Basin to the southeast, Tower Hill to the west, and Whitechapel and Stepney to the north.

Dorsey Murdock Dixon (October 14, 1897, Darlington, South Carolina – April 18, 1968, Plant City, Florida) was an American old-time and country music songwriter and musician. He was also a millworker who spent much of his life working in textile mills in North and South Carolina. Dixon's best known songs were "The Wreck on the Highway", which resulted in a copyright dispute with country musician Roy Acuff, and "Babies in the Mill", which was about the Southern textile industry's exploitation of child labor in the early 20th century.
Dorsey Dixon was born on October 14, 1897 in Darlington, South Carolina. He was one of seven children, all of whom, together with their father, worked at the local textile mill, Darlington Cotton Manufacturing Company. Dixon left school at the age of twelve to start working at the mill; his younger brother Howard started at the age of ten, and their sister Nancy began working there as a spinner at the age of eight. Dixon's family and friends encouraged homemade music and he quickly picked up the traditional and sentimental songs they sang. A family friend and school teacher gave Dixon violin lessons and by the time he was 14 he could also play the guitar. During World War I, Dixon and his brother Howard were employed by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in Darlington as signalmen, but lost their jobs in 1919 along with thousands of mill workers. Dorsey found work for a while at a mill in Lancaster, South Carolina before moving to East Rockingham, North Carolina in 1927 to work at the Aleo Mill. Dixon's parents and Nancy and Howard also moved to East Rockingham to join him. There Dixon married fellow mill worker Beatrice Lucele Moody, later having four children with her.
"Never Gonna Give You Up" is a single by Rick Astley, released on July 8, 1987. Written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman. The song was released as the first single from his debut album, Whenever You Need Somebody (1987). The song was a worldwide number-one hit, initially in the singer's native United Kingdom in 1987, where it stayed atop the chart for five weeks and was the best-selling single of that year. It eventually topped the charts in 25 countries, including the United States and West Germany.
The song won Best British Single at the 1988 Brit Awards. In 2004, it was voted no. 28 in 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs... Ever by VH1.
The music video for the song has become the basis for the "Rickrolling" Internet meme. In 2008, Rick Astley won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Act Ever with the song, as a result of collective voting from thousands of people on the internet, due to the popular phenomenon of Rickrolling. It was also featured as a downloadable track for the Rock Band series.

Hope you enjoy! Note - No Infringement. Shadows fill an empty heart As love is fading, From all the things that we are Are not saying. Can we see beyond the scars And make it to the dawn? Change the colors of the sky. And open up to The ways you made me feel alive, The ways I loved you. For all the things that never died, To make it through the night, Love will find you. What about now? What about today? What if you're making me all that I was meant to be? What if our love never went away? What if it's lost behind words we could never find? Baby, before it's too late, What about now? The sun is breaking in your eyes To start a new day. This broken heart can still survive With a touch of your grace. Shadows fade into the light. I am by your side, Where ...

This is the short version of the story of the saga of Dorsey Dixon's, I Didn't Hear Nobody Pray, widely known as the bluegrass standard Wreck On The Highway. Few people know that Roy Acuff had nothing to do with writing Wreck On The Highway. Dorsey Dixon wrote the song after seeing the 'wrecked cars' that had been towed in after a fatal car crash and located at the Triangle Filling Station in Rockingham, North Carolina in 1936. The song I Didn't Hear Nobody Pray was recorded in 1938 as the duo, The Dixon Brothers, with Dorsey's brother, Howard Dixon. The record label, honing in on the grammar in the title changed the name of the song to, I Didn't Hear Anyone Pray. Dixon continued to refer to his song title until it was recorded and popularized by Acuff as Wreck On The Highway. Th...

Watch more How to Drive videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500646-How-to-Drive-on-the-Highway-Driving-Lessons So, today we're going to talk about highway driving and try to give you some highway driving tips. We'll start with what is usually the most difficult part for a beginner, and that would be actually getting on the highway. The reason that's more difficult is because the cars that are already on the highway are going at a greater speed than you are merging in. This is where the use of the lane to merge becomes most important. You have to use that lane to build up your speed and try to get your speed up so that then it would be easier to blend in with the cars that are already on the highway. So, you don't want to come to the end of that merge lane and then stop. At that poin...
After finishing my California Road Trip video this summer, I realized I still had a lot of extra footage that I hadn’t used. So I decided to put it to good use in a new video. This video is the result: How to Road Trip California. It’s more of a narrative and slower in style than its predecessor, but I’m hoping you still like it. Here’s a link to the first video if you haven’t seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9m-F6pnph0 Many people ask, “How much will it cost to road trip California?" “What are the best places in California to visit?” and “Where is the best food?". The answers to those questions depend on a lot of different factors. California has so much to offer. To truly experience the whole state could take over a month. And you still wouldn’t see everything. Time, m...

Kyrgyzstan, or the Kyrgyz Republic to give it its official name, is quite simply one of the most interesting, pristine and beautiful countries in Asia, offering the adventurous traveller a rich and rewarding destination. My name is Jonny Bealby, I founded Wild Frontiers, and in this short film I am going to talk about tourism in Kyrgyzstan. Although small, Kyrgyzstan is perfectly formed. The Tien Shan – or Mountains of Heaven – that stretch across its length and breadth are lush and green, high and wild, dissected by sweeping steppe lands, primal forests, crystal streams, turquoise lakes and lofty snow-capped peaks. I first rode through here on horseback in 1999 while writing a book and making a Discovery Channel film, and I thought then it really was one of the most beautiful countries I ...

You're cruel, device
Your blood, like ice
One look, could kill
My pain, your thrill
I wanna love you but I better not touch
I wanna hold you but my senses tell me to stop
I wanna kiss you but I want it too much
I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison
You're poison running through my veins
You're poison
I don't wanna break these chains
Your mouth, so hot
Your web, I'm caught
Your skin, so wet
Black lace, on sweat
I hear you calling and its needles and pins
I wanna hurt you just to hear you screaming my name
Don't wanna touch you but you're under my skin
I wanna kiss you but your lips are venomous poison
You're poison running trough my veins
You're poison
I don't wanna break these chains
Running deep inside my veins
Poison burning deep inside my veins
One look, could kill
My pain, your thrill
I wanna love you but I better not touch
I wanna hold you but my senses tell me to stop
I wanna kiss you but I want it too much
I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison
