Camryn Manheim (born March 8, 1961) is an American actress known primarily for her roles as attorney Ellenor Frutt on ABC's The Practice, Delia Banks on CBS's Ghost Whisperer and as Elvis's mother, Gladys Presley in the 2005 mini-series Elvis.
Manheim was born Debra Frances Manheim in Caldwell, New Jersey and grew up in Peoria, Illinois. She is the daughter of Sylvia, a teacher, and Jerome Manheim, a mathematics professor. Her family is Jewish. Manheim became interested in acting after working at a Renaissance fair in high school.[citation needed] Manheim graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with a BFA degree in 1984 and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program with an MFA degree in 1987.
Manheim worked for a while as a sign language interpreter at hospitals. Her knowledge of sign language was utilized at times on The Practice, an episode of Law & Order and also for her role as a Child Behavioral Psychologist in the movie Mercury Rising. In 1983, she made a brief appearance as a girl in an elevator in Sudden Impact alongside Clint Eastwood in the post-courtroom scene at the beginning. In the mid 1980s, Manheim appeared as a "trebekkie" in a practical joke pulled on Alex Trebek on Bloopers and Practical Jokes.[citation needed] In 1998, Manheim collected an Emmy for her work on The Practice and exclaimed that "This is for all the fat girls!" She followed up on this statement with a one-woman show entitled Wake Up, I'm Fat! followed by her autobiography with the same name.[citation needed] In 1999, she was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
Michael Badalucco (born December 20, 1954) is an American actor most famous for his role as lawyer Jimmy Berluti on the ABC legal drama The Practice. He won the 1999 Emmy for Best Supporting Actor for his role on the show.
Badalucco, an Italian American, was born in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, the son of Jean, a homemaker, and Joe Badalucco, a set dresser, movie set carpenter and property person. His brother is Joseph Badalucco Jr., whose most notable role was Jimmy Altieri in the show The Sopranos.
He attended Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, graduating in 1972. He was the guest speaker at the 2005 commencement. He later attended SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, New York.
He is married to Brenda Heyob.
Steve Harris (born December 3, 1965) is an American actor most famous for his role as Eugene Young on the legal drama The Practice. He recently starred as Detective Isaiah "Bird" Freeman on the NBC drama, Awake.
He was born in Chicago, IL, the son of Mattie, a housewife, and John Harris, a bus driver. He is the older brother of Wood Harris. He attended St. Joseph High School in Westchester, IL, a private school known for developing star athletes. Steve was a running back. He then played linebacker for Northern Illinois University, where he studied drama. His athletic career was cut short due to a torn ligament in his ankle.
He has done voice work for the animated television show The Batman as Ethan Bennett. He has also appeared on Law & Order and earlier had a recurring role on Homicide: Life on the Street. In 2006, he appeared in the now-cancelled TV series Heist. He also appeared in an episode of Grey's Anatomy. He appeared in several episodes of New York Undercover. He has appeared in a number of films including; Quarantine, Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Bringing Down The House, The Rock, The Mod Squad, and Minority Report.
