Hospital warehouse

A hospital warehouse is a department in a hospital where medical supplies are stored. Such supplies include intravenous (IV) solutions and tubings, first aid products (band aids, wound dressings, gauze, etc.), protective equipment (gloves, gowns, masks, etc.), personal care products/toiletries (wash basins, bedpans, diapers, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, patient belonging bags, drinking cups, etc.), feeding tubes, foley catheters, respiratory supplies and orthopedic supplies (crutches, arm slings, splints, etc.). Items in the warehouse may be distributed to various departments within the hospital (such as the emergency room, operating room, intensive-care unit, etc.), through a centralized requisition system which determines what supplies are needed and the amount to each department.

Also known as "materials management" in some facilities, the warehouse staff use a dedicated inventory system which determines the amount of items that are distributed and where they are delivered to. This helps the buyers order more supplies when the stock is running low or completely out.

Warehouse (Dave Matthews Band)

The Warehouse is the official fan association for Dave Matthews Band. Founded on December 4, 1998, Warehouse gives fan early access to concert tickets, exclusive CDs and merchandise to its members. The current fee for membership is $35 per year, up from the original price of $30.

Warehouse is run by Musictoday, a Charlottesville, Virginia-based company run by DMB manager Coran Capshaw. The success of the Warehouse led to Musictoday running similar online fan clubs for other major artists. Musictoday was acquired by major concert promoter Live Nation.

Distribution of Tickets

The primary benefit of a Warehouse membership is the opportunity for fans to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. Fans submit ticket requests during the "request period," which typically lasts two weeks. These submissions are put into a random lottery and confirmations are often posted within a month, but always before the public on-sale date through Ticketmaster, or other outlets. Finally, seat locations are withheld until after the public on-sale and may not be posted until the tickets ship, a month prior to the concert, in an effort to deter scalping by members.

Warehouse (Raleigh)

The Warehouse District is a major downtown district in Raleigh, North Carolina, The Warehouse District is a growing arts, restaurant, nightlife, and entrepreneurial district located three blocks west of the Raleigh Convention Center. The district consists of six blocks of spacious red-brick buildings, most of which are re-purposed warehouses, factories and depots.

History

The Warehouse District was built initially as an industrial zone due to its proximity to the rail lines several blocks West of downtown Raleigh. The warehouse, depot, and factory buildings fell out of use in the mid 1950s. Many of the buildings were in a state of disrepair by the late 1970s and early 1980s when artists, designers, and performers began making use of the spaces again, including a young David Sedaris. By the late 1980s much of the district had found use as galleries, studio space, poetry reading space, and woodworking shop. Nightlife venues came to the district in the form of The Berkley and the Capital Coral, Culture Club, and Fallout Shelter in the mid to late 1980's.

The Heckler is a fictional character, a superhero parody published by DC Comics'. He first appeared in The Heckler #1 (cover-dated September 1992), an ongoing series that lasted six issues, ending with The Heckler #6 (cover-dated February 1993).

Fictional character biography

Stuart "Stu" Moseley, co-owner of "Eats", a skid row diner in the ghetto section of Delta City, fights the injustices and slightly goofy criminal element as The Heckler, armed only with his sarcastic wit and a brightly colored costume. Stu's motivations and origins are unknown. Possibly he's just a glutton for punishment, for it seems that he receives no respect from his contemporaries in either his civilian or costumed alter ego's existence. It is notable that while walking around as Stu, he ends up coming across as slightly anal, frustrated and awkward; when wearing his costume, he seems to become a completely different person.

Powers and abilities

A costumed fighter with only average strength and agility, Stu relies heavily on his razor-sharp wit to enrage and baffle his adversaries to the point of blinding frustration, opening a window of opportunity that he will exploit to his benefit. The Heckler also possesses an immeasurable level of durability that frequently allows him to quickly recover from extreme amounts of physical damage. Being swallowed whole by a monstrous beast or falling to the earth from staggering heights only to bounce back minutes later speak mildly of The Heckler's ability to absorb and recover from damage. His access to this ability sometimes teeters on the edge of invulnerability.
