David Yazbek (born 1961) is an American writer, musician, composer, and lyricist. He wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musicals The Full Monty (2000), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2005) and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (2010).
Yazbek was born in New York City, to a mother of Jewish and Italian descent, and a father of Lebanese ancestry. Musical from birth, he began cello lessons in elementary school and took up the piano as a teenager.
While attending Brown University as an undergraduate, he wrote an original musical with the production group Brownbrokers before graduating in 1982. He also directed a production of HAIR with student theatre group Production Workshop, for which he composed an original song to compliment the classic score. After college he got a job writing for David Letterman's late night television show. He won an Emmy as part of Letterman's writing team in 1986, but quit to pursue his love of music. From 1987 to 1989 he was the co-owner of Manhattan Recording Company and wrote many commercial jingles.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
Patti Ann LuPone (born April 21, 1949) is an American actress and singer, best known for her work in stage musicals. She is a two-time Grammy Award winner and a two-time Tony Award winner. She is also a 2006 American Theater Hall of Fame inductee.
LuPone began her professional career with The Acting Company in 1972 and made her Broadway debut in Three Sisters in 1973. She received the first of six (as of 2014) Tony Award nominations for the 1975 musical The Robber Bridegroom. She won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Eva Perón in the 1979 original Broadway production of Evita. She played Fantine in the original London cast of Les Misérables and Moll in The Cradle Will Rock, winning the 1985 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her work in both.
Other stage musical performances include her Tony-nominated role as Reno Sweeney in the 1987 revival of Anything Goes, her Olivier-nominated role as Norma Desmond in the 1993 original production of Sunset Boulevard in London, her Tony-nominated role as Mrs. Lovett in the 2005 production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, her Tony Award-winning role as Mama Rose in the 2007 revival of Gypsy, and her Tony-nominated role as Lucia in the 2010 original production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
Nervous breakdown, or mental breakdown, is an acute, time-limited phase of a specific disorder that presents primarily with features of depression or anxiety.
Nervous breakdown is a non-medical term and may also refer to:
The Band was a Canadian-American roots rock group, originally consisting of Rick Danko (bass guitar, double bass, fiddle, trombone, vocals), Levon Helm (drums, mandolin, vocals), Garth Hudson (keyboards, saxophones, trumpet), Richard Manuel (piano, baritone, drums, vocals) and Robbie Robertson (guitar, percussion, vocals). The members of the Band first came together as they joined rockabilly singer Ronnie Hawkins's backing group, the Hawks, one by one between 1958 and 1963.
In 1964, they separated from Hawkins, after which they toured and released a few singles as Levon and the Hawks and the Canadian Squires. The next year, Bob Dylan hired them for his U.S. tour in 1965 and world tour in 1966. Following the 1966 tour, the group moved with Dylan to Saugerties, New York, where they made the informal 1967 recordings that became The Basement Tapes, which forged the basis for their 1968 debut album, Music from Big Pink. Because they were always "the band" to various frontmen, Helm said the name "The Band" worked well when the group came into its own. The group began performing as the Band in 1968 and went on to release ten studio albums. Dylan continued to collaborate with the Band over the course of their career, including a joint 1974 tour.

THE LAUGHING MAN (1994) This is where I live, under the cellar floor, deep inside the ground. Down near the earth's core. Make your presence known. That's what the button's for. Two little bells then welcome to my home. Don't mind the cannonballs coming through the dome over the concert hall. Leave the dogs alone. They don't like you at all. Who's feeling sorry now? With modern lighting you can read my writing and I really won't mind. You'll hear the lecture on the architecture but it's too little much too late. This is where I eat, over the fireplace. This is where I sleep, up in the bookcase. This is what I love, tied with a shoelace. Who's feeling sorry now? You grab your liver and you sweat and shiver but you really can't run. Your feet are freezing in the ice of reason and it's t...

How could you do that to her?
FREDDY
Do what to her?
We're in her room,
The lights are low.
I've got it made,
All systems go.
I'm in. She's down-
The hair; the gown-
We go to kiss;
She conks me out.
Then I wake up
With nothing on.
She took my clothes.
My shoes are gone.
My wallet's gone.
My watch is gone.
And here I am a shmuch in a robe.
LAWRENCE
And you expect me to believe that
when she just returned the fifty
thousand dollars I gave to her?
FREDDY
What fifty thousand dollars?
LAWRENCE
The fifty thousand dollars that you
stole from her!
FREDDY
I didn't steal and fifty thousand dollars
from her!
(They look at each other
and run to the briefcase)
Hey, there's my clothes.
(They find a note inside and read:)

'Goodbye boys. It was fun.
Love, The Jackal!

The more I cired,
The more she cared.
The more I liked,
The more she bared.
The more I sang,
The more she sung.
I mean, come on,
She gave me tongue!
ANDRE
Amazing

The Timing,
She really had me down-
ANDRE
So young, so good,
