Crunch Festival
Crunch is an annual Art and Music festival that takes place in November in Hay-on-Wye, Wales. It is held by the Institute of Art and Ideas, a non-profit organization which hosts a number of cultural events throughout the year. Crunch brings together the world’s leading artists, curators and critics to debate the questions that lie at the core of contemporary art. The 3-day festival features talk sessions and debates, live music, performance acts, creative workshops, art exhibitions and late night parties.
Crunch 2011 ‘Awake in the Universe’
The festival has doubled in size and features controversial art historian Julian Stallabrass, artist Susan Hiller and postmodern painter and psychoanalyst Bracha Ettinger debating how art and creativity make us alive; Serpentine Director Hans Ulrich-Obrist on the rise of the curators and outspoken artist Jake Chapman in conversation with Paradise Row founder Nick Hackworth.
With exhibitions from galleries such as The View, the UK's contemporary art scene combines with a debate series featuring significant cultural figures such as former Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company Adrian Noble, novelist Mark Haddon and art historian Griselda Pollock.
Signal (novel)
Signal is a 2009 children's science fiction novel by Cynthia DeFelice. The book was a Junior Library Guild selection for 2009. The novel is about a boy who is bored with his new life in upstate New York and discovers a girl who claims to be from another planet, who has been kidnapped by an abusive couple, and attempts to make a signal to contact her home planet.

Signal (Hangul: 시그널; RR: Sigeuneol) is a 2016 South Korean television series starring Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo and Cho Jin-woong. It airs on tvN on Fridays to Saturdays at 08:30 KST for 16 episodes beginning January 22, 2016.
Synopsis
A mysterious walkie talkie allows a rookie detective in the 1980s to communicate with a jaded cold case profiler in 2016; with the power of fore and hindsight the two not only solve crimes but prevent them from ever taking place. However a long standing murder case is closer to home than either realises.

Unix signal
Signals are a limited form of inter-process communication used in Unix, Unix-like, and other POSIX-compliant operating systems. A signal is an asynchronous notification sent to a process or to a specific thread within the same process in order to notify it of an event that occurred. Signals originated in 1970s Bell Labs Unix and have been more recently specified in the POSIX standard.
When a signal is sent, the operating system interrupts the target process' normal flow of execution to deliver the signal. Execution can be interrupted during any non-atomic instruction. If the process has previously registered a signal handler, that routine is executed. Otherwise, the default signal handler is executed.
Embedded programs may find signals useful for interprocess communications, as the computational and memory footprint for signals is small.
History
Version 1 Unix had separate system calls to catch interrupts, quits, and machine traps. Version 4 combined all traps into one call, signal, and each numbered trap received a symbolic name in Version 7. kill appeared in Version 2, and in Version 5 could send arbitrary signals.Plan 9 from Bell Labs replaced signals with notes, which permit sending short, arbitrary strings.
FEAT (album)
FEAT (pronounced "F-E-A-T") is the first studio album by Chicago-based record production duo The Hood Internet. It was released on Decon on October 2, 2012. The album features guest appearances from A.C. Newman, Cadence Weapon, and Class Actress, among others. Music videos were created for "Won't Fuck Us Over", "One for the Record Books", and "More Fun".
The remix album, FEAT Remixes, was released on December 18, 2012.

At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 54% based on 6 reviews, indicating "mixed or average reviews".

In computer programming, trimming (trim) or stripping (strip) is a string manipulation in which leading and trailing whitespace is removed from a string.

Variants
Definition of whitespace
The characters which are considered whitespace varies between programming languages and implementations. For example, C traditionally only counts space, tab, line feed, and carriage return characters, while languages which support Unicode typically include all Unicode space characters. Some implementations also include ASCII control codes (non-printing characters) along with whitespace characters.
Java's trim method considers ASCII spaces and control codes as whitespace, contrasting with the Java isWhitespace() method, which recognizes all Unicode space characters.
Delphi's Trim function considers characters U+0000 (NULL) through U+0020 (SPACE) to be whitespace.
Usage
Following are examples of trimming a string using several programming languages. All of the implementations shown return a new string and do not alter the original variable.
TRIM16
Tripartite motif-containing protein 16 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TRIM16 gene.
This gene was identified as an estrogen and anti-estrogen regulated gene in epithelial cells stably expressing estrogen receptor. The protein encoded by this gene contains two B box domains and a coiled-coiled region that are characteristic of the B box zinc finger protein family. The proteins of this family have been reported to be involved in a variety of biological processes including cell growth, differentiation and pathogenesis. Expression of this gene was detected in most tissues. Its function, however, has not yet been determined.
