North is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or geography. It is one of the most important directions.
North is one of the four cardinal directions or compass points. It is the opposite of south and is perpendicular to east and west.
By convention, the top side of a map is north.
To go north using a compass for navigation, set a bearing or azimuth of 0° or 360°.
North is specifically the direction that, in Western culture, is treated as the fundamental direction:
The word north is related to the Old High German nord, both descending from the Proto-Indo-European unit ner-, meaning "down" (or "under"). (Presumably a natural primitive description of its concept is "to the left of the rising sun".)
Latin borealis is from Greek boreas "north wind, north", in mythology (according to Ovid) personified as the son of the river-god Strymon, and father of Calais and Zetes; septentrionalis is from septentriones, "the seven plow oxen", a name of Ursa Maior. Greek arktikos "northern" is named for the same constellation (cf. Arctic).
Kim Il-sung (15 April 1912 – 8 July 1994) was the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, commonly referred to as "North Korea", from its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. He held the posts of Prime Minister from 1948 to 1972 and President from 1972 to his death. He was also the leader of the Workers' Party of Korea from 1949 to 1994 (titled as chairman from 1949 to 1966 and as general secretary after 1966).
His tenure as leader of North Korea has often been described as autocratic, and he established an all-pervasive cult of personality. From the mid-1960s, he promoted his self-developed Juche variant of communist national organization, which later replaced Marxism-Leninism as the ideology of the state in 1972. In the Library of Congress Country Study on North Korea in 2009, he was described as "one of the most intriguing figures of the twentieth century". He outlived Joseph Stalin by four decades, Mao Zedong by two, and remained in power during the terms of office of six South Korean presidents, 7 Soviet leaders, ten U.S. presidents, and twenty-one Japanese prime ministers.

Plot: A three-part short film about writing and literature. Together, the individual pieces make up a story greater than the sum of its parts. The first part, 'The Gamble' tells the story of a writer plagued with writer's block. When confronted by the mysterious Mr. Block himself with an offer to win the rest of his book in a game of 'simple blackjack,' the writer must choose carefully - for the more he loses, the more he begins to unwrite his story. The second part, 'The Executioner,' introduces Chairman Wales - a colorful CEO who has seen to it that art (unless it has been made solely for entertainment) has been made illegal. Muses are now criminals and forced to stand trial at the foot of Wales's lovely pet - a 19th century French guillotine. They only lack one piece of evidence to proceed - a witness testimony. The final part, 'The Celebration,' tells the story of two kingly brothers who jointly rule over their lands as ghostwriters, dictating the voice of their people. When a woman is discovered who has written her own book, the brothers engage in a rivalry to make her their queen.

Plot: In the remote west coast of Scotland, a drug dealer double-crosses and kills a drug trafficker who imports drugs for him. The dealer is arrested and learns that the murder was witnessed by a couple of anonymous locals. Facing life imprisonment, the dealer decides to hire a hitman to eliminate all the potential witnesses. Outside a rural police station, the hired hitman starts a stopwatch, runs across a road, jumps into his car, and takes off with a screech. He drives full speed through the barren country until he reaches the remote, one street hamlet of Bartoun. He checks his stopwatch. It reads 28 minutes, 36 seconds. He sees a poster advertising a fair in the next village. The residents of Bartoun are advised to meet on main street at noon to get a ride. As the people begin to congregate the next day, the hitman walks toward them and begins shooting. He knows that he has 28 minutes and 36 seconds before the police arrive. Pandemonium ensues as he methodically hunts down his targets and people frantically try to stay alive.

Genres: Family,There's a painting of my grandfather, on my mothers side
In the hallway of our homestaed, in a special place of pride
With his bulldogs and kanakas, back in eighteen nighty three
In a linen suit and a panama, they say he looked like me.
And the story goes he came out, to make a brand new start
In an effort to forget, a sad affair of the heart
So with these romantic notions, to the colonies he came
Where he settled in the tropics and made his fortune growing cane.
Chorus:
Well let the canefields burn, let the flames rise
Let the politicians and the bankers in the city look up
In wonder at the glow at in the sky.
Let the canefield burn, let me feel no pain
When I drown my soul in whisky, and dance in the flames.
There's a photo of my parents, taken in between the wars
In London, Rome or Paris, I don't know for sure
But it hangs there in the hallway and there's one for every year
Fortunes made, and fortunes paid, for champagne souveniers.
Chorus:... let the canefields burn...
And they say they're gonna take this all away from me
The cars the cane the homestead, all my family history
Let the auctioneer open... with a price for charred remains!
Chorus:... let the canefields burn...
