Dawn

Dawn (from an Old English verb dagian "to become day") is the time that marks, depending on the specific usage, the beginning of the twilight before sunrise, the period of the pre-sunrise twilight or the time of sunrise. When identified as the beginning of or the period of twilight, it is recognized by the presence of weak sunlight, while the Sun itself is still below the horizon.

Types of dawn

Different definitions exist for the start of dawn. The difference between these definitions is the amount of sunlight that must be present. This can be correlated with the angular distance of the centre of the Sun (degrees) below the horizon, in the morning:

Dawn of astronomical twilight

Astronomical twilight begins at the moment after which the sky is no longer completely dark. This occurs when the Sun is 18 degrees below the horizon in the morning. Though it is possible to localize the direction of the Sun during astronomical dawn and dusk, people in general experience astronomical dawn and dusk as night, even without clouds. The zenith is dark and more than just the brightest stars can be seen (except low above the horizon in the direction of the sun).

Aly & Fila

Aly & Fila are an Egyptian trance music duo made up of Aly Amr Fathalah (a.k.a. Aly) and Fadi Wassef Naguib (a.k.a. Fila). They host an Internet radio show called Future Sound of Egypt (every Monday at 4PM US Eastern / 9PM UK / 22:00 Central European Time on Digitally Imported radio). In 2011, their track "We Control The Sunlight", which featured Jwaydan Moyine was chosen as "Tune of the Year" on Armin Van Buuren's show A State of Trance.

History

Aly Amr Fathalah (Aly) and Fadi Wassef Naguib (Fila), the Egyptian duo, were both born in 1981 and have known each other since kindergarten. After falling in love with the music of Paul Van Dyk, The Thrillseekers and Chicane they built their first small studio and started doing electronic music and DJing from 1999. Once they established themselves in Egypt, they decided to go international signing with the German record label Euphonic Records in 2002. Their first release, "Eye of Horus," received huge airplay from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, DJ Tiësto and many others. The track was licensed to Fundamental Recordings in the Netherlands and reached number 4 position in the Dutch Dance charts.

Giuseppe Ottaviani

Giuseppe Ottaviani (Italian pronunciation: [dʒuˈzɛppe ottavˈjani]; born 12 November 1978) is an Italian trance musician.

Biography

Ottaviani began studying piano at the age of 4 in Viterbo, a small Italian town near Rome. After attending music school in his early childhood and studying classical music as a teenager, he discovered electronic music. He started to play his first DJ sets at clubs and on local radio stations in 1995, and later began to use his computer to produce his own music. He met DJs Andrea Ribeca and Giacomo Miccichè in 1999, and they decided to start the music project NU NRG; the group began releasing tracks on Vandit Records in 2001.

Giuseppe left NU NRG in 2005 to pursue a solo career. Most of his tracks are released on Vandit, such as Linking People, Through Your Eyes and No More Alone with the vocals of Stephen Pickup.

Sean Tyas

Sean Tyas /ˈtaɪəz/ is an American DJ and electronic music producer based in Switzerland. The genre of his productions and DJ sets can be broadly categorized as trance.

Career

Sean Tyas burst onto the scene in 2006, after Sander van Doorn selected him as the winner of the “Punk’d” remix contest. Shortly after releasing his debut single and first #1 record (Lift), Mixmag & Beatport named him “Best New DJ” and “One To Watch,” marking the beginning of Tyas’ journey to becoming one of the most celebrated names in trance music. Throughout his 8-year career, he’s racked up a multitude of landmark achievements, including a much lauded BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix to his credit—a rare feat by any trance artist. His discography is filled with 5 mix compilations and an impressive amount of #1 hits, such as his unforgettable remix of Dash Berlin and Emma Hewitt’s “Waiting,” and his ground breaking single “Seven Weeks,” which spent an astounding 12 weeks at #1. Often known for turning a great track into a monster hit of ‘tytanic’ proportions, his remix credits include reworks for early Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin, Lange, Gareth Emery, and a co-production (Intricacy) with Armin van Buuren to name a few.

Ritchie Blackmore

Richard Hugh "Ritchie" Blackmore (born 14 April 1945) is an English guitarist and songwriter, who began his career as a session musician as a member of the instrumental band The Outlaws and as a backing musician of pop singers such as Glenda Collins, Heinz, Screaming Lord Sutch and Neil Christian.

Blackmore became a founding member of Deep Purple in 1968, playing jam-style hard-rock music which mixed simple guitar riffs and organ sounds. During his solo career, he established a band called Rainbow which fused baroque music influences and elements of hard rock. Rainbow gradually progressed to catchy pop style hard rock. Later in life, he formed the traditional folk rock project Blackmore's Night transitioning to vocalist-centred sounds. Their latest album, All Our Yesterdays, was released on 18 September 2015.

Early life

Blackmore was born at Allendale Nursing Home in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset as second son to Lewis J. Blackmore and Violet (née Short). The family moved to Heston, Middlesex when Blackmore was two. He was 11 when he was given his first guitar by his father on certain conditions, including learning how to play properly, so he took classical guitar lessons for one year.
