Foreign Trade Policy of India 2015-20 has been announced on 1st April 2015. It is a key policy announcement by New Modi government and can be a revolutionary start of internationalization of India's foreign trade. While the provisions and targets of new foreign trade policy are very modest, if implemented well the policy document will prove to be one of the best foreign policy trade document in South Asia and SAARC region. This video is part of an MDP conducted by me in New Delhi in April 2015 on the topic which was attended by senior industry persons representing large organizations which are involved in international trade.

International trade is the exchange of capital, goods, and services across international borders or territories. In most countries, such trade represents a significant share of gross domestic product (GDP). While international trade has been present throughout much of history (see Silk Road, Amber Road), its economic, social, and political importance has been on the rise in recent centuries.
Industrialization, advanced transportation, globalization, multinational corporations, and outsourcing are all having a major impact on the international trade system. Increasing international trade is crucial to the continuance of globalization. Without international trade, nations would be limited to the goods and services produced within their own borders.
International trade is, in principle, not different from domestic trade as the motivation and the behavior of parties involved in a trade do not change fundamentally regardless of whether trade is across a border or not. The main difference is that international trade is typically more costly than domestic trade. The reason is that a border typically imposes additional costs such as tariffs, time costs due to border delays and costs associated with country differences such as language, the legal system or culture.

Trump is the son of Fred Trump, a wealthy New York City real-estate developer. He worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and in 1968 officially joined the company. He was given control of the company in 1971 and renamed it The Trump Organization.
In 2010, Trump expressed an interest in becoming a candidate for President of the United States in the 2012 election. In May 2011, he announced he would not be a candidate, but a few weeks later he said he had not completely ruled out the possibility. In December 2011, Trump was suggested as a possible Vice Presidential selection by Michele Bachmann. Bachmann has since suspended her presidential campaign.

It is a key policy announcement by New Modi government and can be a revolutionary start of internationalization of India's foreign trade. While the provisions and targets of new foreign trade policy are very modest, if implemented well the policy document will prove to be one of the best foreign policy trade document in South Asia and SAARC region. This video is part of an MDP conducted by me in New Delhi in April 2015 on the topic which was attended by senior industry persons representing large organizations which are involved in international trade.

The components of the trade balance show a terrible trend : exports decreased from 2.1% to -1.1% and imports increased drastically from -1.5% to 9.3% ! Due to its size and resources, foreign trade is very important for the Swiss economy and trade statistics can have a significant impact on markets, especially the Forex market. With such a low figure, we can imagine that in the coming days, the Swiss franc will resume its downward trend, quickly reaching 1.10 against the EUR and even 1.15 by the end of the year. The foreign exchange market (or "forex" for short) is the biggest financial market in the world, with over $4 trillion worth of transactions occurring every day. Simply, forex is the market in which currencies, or money, are traded in the interbanking system.

What Is Forex?
The foreign exchange market is the "place" where currencies are traded. Currencies are important to most people around the world, whether they realize it or not, because currencies need to be exchanged in order to conduct foreign trade and business. If you are living in the U.S. and want to buy cheese from France, either you or the company that you buy the cheese from has to pay the French for the cheese in euros (EUR). This means that the U.S. importer would have to exchange the equivalent value of U.S. dollars (USD) into euros. The same goes for traveling. A French tourist in Egypt can't pay in euros to see the pyramids because it's not the locally accepted currency. As such, the tourist has to exchange the euros for the local currency, in this case the Egyptian pound, at the current exchange rate.
What is the spot market?
More specifically, the spot market is where currencies are bought and sold according to the current price. That price, determined by supply and demand, is a reflection of many things, including current interest rates, economic performance, sentiment towards ongoing political situations (both locally and internationally), as well as the perception of the future performance of one currency against another. When a deal is finalized, this is known as a "spot deal". It is a bilateral transaction by which one party delivers an agreed-upon currency amount to the counter party and receives a specified amount of another currency at the agreed-upon exchange rate value. After a position is closed, the settlement is in cash. Although the spot market is commonly known as one that deals with transactions in the present (rather than the future), these trades actually take two days for settlement.
Note that you'll see the terms: FX, forex, foreign-exchange market and currency market. These terms are synonymous and all refer to the forex market.

12. Consider a small country that exports Steel. Suppose that a “pro-trade” government decides to subsidize the export of Steel by paying certain amount for each ton sold aborad. How does this export subsidy affect the domestic Price of Steel, the quantity os Steel produced, the quantity of Steel consumed, and the quantity of Steel exported? How does it affect consumer surplus, producer surplus, and total surplus? (Hint: The analysis of an export subsidy is similar to analysis of a tariff.)

The foreign exchange market (or "forex" for short) is the biggest financial market in the world, with over $4 trillion worth of transactions occurring every day. Simply, forex is the market in which currencies, or money, are traded in the interbanking system.

What Is Forex?
The foreign exchange market is the "place" where currencies are traded. Currencies are important to most people around the world, whether they realize it or not, because currencies need to be exchanged in order to conduct foreign trade and business. If you are living in the U.S. and want to buy cheese from France, either you or the company that you buy the cheese from has to pay the French for the cheese in euros (EUR). This means that the U.S. importer would have to exchange the equivalent value of U.S. dollars (USD) into euros. The same goes for traveling. A French tourist in Egypt can't pay in euros to see the pyramids because it's not the locally accepted currency. As such, the tourist has to exchange the euros for the local currency, in this case the Egyptian pound, at the current exchange rate.
What is the spot market?
More specifically, the spot market is where currencies are bought and sold according to the current price. That price, determined by supply and demand, is a reflection of many things, including current interest rates, economic performance, sentiment towards ongoing political situations (both locally and internationally), as well as the perception of the future performance of one currency against another. When a deal is finalized, this is known as a "spot deal". It is a bilateral transaction by which one party delivers an agreed-upon currency amount to the counter party and receives a specified amount of another currency at the agreed-upon exchange rate value. After a position is closed, the settlement is in cash. Although the spot market is commonly known as one that deals with transactions in the present (rather than the future), these trades actually take two days for settlement.
Note that you'll see the terms: FX, forex, foreign-exchange market and currency market. These terms are synonymous and all refer to the forex market.

After a delay of one year the Modi Government today announced the New Foreign Trade Policy (FTP-2015-20) for five years. Following the policy of better late than never, the Commerce & Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman indeed came out with a completely new policy framework resting on the twin wheels of Make in India and Digital India. Doing away with the multiplicity of export promotion schemes the Minister today announced the merger of all past schemes into Merchandise Export from India (MEIS) and Service Export from India Scheme (SEIS). Apart from announcing greater focus on local procurement of goods and services and also higher value addition which would fetch higher duty rewards the Minister also announced the facility of paying all indirect taxes through duty credit scrips earned by the exporting community. Not to miss the dominant role of e-commerce the New FTP has provided incentives to certain types of exports generating employment in the country.
