Francis-Marie Martinez Picabia (January 28, 1879 - November 30, 1953) was a well-known painter and poet born of a French mother and a Spanish-Cuban father who was an attaché at the Cuban legation in Paris, France.
Born in Paris, he studied at École des Beaux-Arts and École des Arts Decoratifs. In the beginning of his career, from 1903 to 1908, he was influenced by the impressionist painting of Alfred Sisley. From 1909, he came under the influence of the cubists and the Golden Section (Section d'Or).
Around 1911 he joined the Puteaux Group, which met at the studio of Jacques Villon in the village of Puteaux. There he became friends with artist Marcel Duchamp. Some of the group's members were, Apollinaire, Albert Gleizes, Roger de La Fresnaye, Fernand Leger and Jean Metzinger.
From 1913 to 1915 Picabia traveled to New York City several times and took active part in the avant-garde movements, introducing modern art to America. These years can be characterized as Picabia's proto-Dada period, consisting mainly of his portraits mécaniques.
Later, in 1916, while in Barcelona he started his well-known Dada periodical 391, in which he published his first mechanical drawings. He continued the periodical with the help of Duchamp in America.
Picabia continued his involvement in the Dada movement through 1919 in Zürich and Paris, before breaking away from it after developing an interest in Surrealist art. (See Cannibale, 1921.) Again he changed his style in 1925, when he returned to figurative painting.
During the 1930s, he became a close friend of Gertrude Stein. In the early 1940s he moved to the south of France, where his work took a surprising turn - he produced a series of paintings based on the nude and glamour photos in French "Girlie" magazines, in a garish style which appears to subvert traditional, academic nude painting.
Before the end of World War II, he returned to Paris where he resumed abstract painting and writing poetry.
He had love affairs with dancers whom he painted. "I see again in my memory my dear udnie" for example, is a painting and an ode to a dancer he was involved with.
A large amount of his work involves the mechanical representation of people.

Fue un artista francés nacido en 1879 que, a lo largo de sus casi cincuenta años como artista, toca los estilos de vanguardia más diversos, desde el impresionismo, a la abstracción, pasando por el fauvismo, el cubismo, el orfismo o el dadaísmo y, como no, el surrealismo, llegando incluso a ser considerado por algunos críticos, como el precursor del “Hiperrealismo” y del “Pop-Art”. Estudió en l´Ecole des arts Decoratifs. Era amigo de Pisarro, lo que le llevó a practicar el Impresionismo, tras el que se pasó al fauvismo, decantándose luego por el cubismo. A partir de ese momento inicia una gran amistad con Marcel Duchamp, con lo que se inscribe en los movimientos preconizados por éste. Fue uno de los representantes más destacados del Dadaísmo agresivo encabezado por Tristán Tzara, para a continuación unirse al Surrealismo de Breton y compañía. Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial combinó la Abstracción con una especie de Realismo Kitsch.

Francis Picabia
Francis Picabia (French: [fʁɑ̃sis pikabja]; born Francis-Marie Martinez de Picabia, 22 January 1879 – 30 November 1953) was a French avant-garde painter, poet and typographist. After experimenting with Impressionism and Pointillism, Picabia became associated with Cubism. His highly abstract planar compositions were colourful and rich in contrasts. He was one of the early major figures of the Dada movement in the United States and in France. He was later briefly associated with Surrealism, but would soon turn his back on the art establishment.
Biography
Early life
Francis Picabia was born in Paris of a French mother and a Cuban father who was an attaché at the Cuban legation in Paris. His mother died of tuberculosis when he was seven. Some sources would have his father as of aristocratic Spanish descent, whereas others consider him of non-aristocratic Spanish descent, from the region of Galicia. Financially independent, Picabia studied under Fernand Cormon and others at the École des Arts Decoratifs in the late 1890s.

Around 1911 he joined the Puteaux Group, which met at the studio of Jacques Villon in the village of Puteaux. There he became friends with artist Marcel Duchamp. Some of the group's members were, Apollinaire, Albert Gleizes, Roger de La Fresnaye, Fernand Leger and Jean Metzinger.
From 1913 to 1915 Picabia traveled to New York City several times and took active part in the avant-garde movements, introducing modern art to America. These years can be characterized as Picabia's proto-Dada period, consisting mainly of his portraits mécaniques.
Later, in 1916, while in Barcelona he started his well-known Dada periodical 391, in which he published his first mechanical drawings. He continued the periodical with the help of Duchamp in America.
Picabia continued his involvement in the Dada movement through 1919 in Zürich and Paris, before breaking away from it after developing an interest in Surrealist art. (See Cannibale, 1921.) Again he changed his style in 1925, when he returned to figurative painting.
During the 1930s, he became a close friend of Gertrude Stein. In the early 1940s he moved to the south of France, where his work took a surprising turn - he produced a series of paintings based on the nude and glamour photos in French "Girlie" magazines, in a garish style which appears to subvert traditional, academic nude painting.
Before the end of World War II, he returned to Paris where he resumed abstract painting and writing poetry.
He had love affairs with dancers whom he painted. "I see again in my memory my dear udnie" for example, is a painting and an ode to a dancer he was involved with.
A large amount of his work involves the mechanical representation of people.

Francis-Marie Martinez Picabia (January 28, 1879 - November 30, 1953) was a well-known painter and poet born of a French mother and a Spanish-Cuban father who was an attaché at the Cuban legation in Paris, France.
Born in Paris, he studied at École des Beaux-Arts and École des Arts Decoratifs. In the beginning of his career, from 1903 to 1908, he was influenced by the impressionist painting of Alfred Sisley. From 1909, he came under the influence of the cubists and the Golden Section (Section d'Or).

Fue un artista francés nacido en 1879 que, a lo largo de sus casi cincuenta años como artista, toca los estilos de vanguardia más diversos, desde el impresionismo, a la abstracción, pasando por el fauvismo, el cubismo, el orfismo o el dadaísmo y, como no, el surrealismo, llegando incluso a ser considerado por algunos críticos, como el precursor del “Hiperrealismo” y del “Pop-Art”. Estudió en l´Ecole des arts Decoratifs. Era amigo de Pisarro, lo que le llevó a practicar el Impresionismo, tras el que se pasó al fauvismo, decantándose luego por el cubismo. A partir de ese momento inicia una gran amistad con Marcel Duchamp, con lo que se inscribe en los movimientos preconizados por éste. Fue uno de los representantes más destacados del Dadaísmo agresivo encabezado por Tristán Tzara, para a continuación unirse al Surrealismo de Breton y compañía. Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial combinó la Abstracción con una especie de Realismo Kitsch.

This young producer was born in 1992, in Madrid, and started playing records as an adolescent. Being interested in electronic music, he learned the autodidact way of creating music and learned the ins and outs of the genre. Ever since his first record (vinyl), which was released in 2013, he was interested in Tech House and low beats specifically. His first single, “Hoodies (Original Mix)” was successful; one that Marco Carola cranked in many places, such as the well-known “The BPM Festival” in Playa del Carmen (México). Alvaro AM has a sound that identifies him, and he stands out in any dance floor due to his unique rhythm and captivating low sound.

He has exhibited his artwork not only in Turkey but also in Berkeley, Sweden and Paris. He is an active member of the thought school which supports the claim that an individual's most creative era is at age 18 which corresponds to the freshmen year of university and the only way to stay clean from information pollution that we are exposed to is though art. His design courses are structured upon the significance of the place and the effect of poetry, painting and writing in human education. His design workshop which is called 'Spontaneous Creativity' covers the unity of Human, Art and Life. Nowadays he is working on his painting exhibition called "The Woman Pregnant to the Earth." He also believes that the most authentic art lays within the quiet corridors of school, in the students' art exhibitions and moving forth from that belief, he is now working on implementing a museum called "MÜZE 18".
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
