Mazhavil Manorama

Mazhavil Manorama is a Malayalam general entertainment television channel from the Malayala Manorama group, the publisher of the widely circulated Malayalam Manorama daily, and Malayalam women's magazine Vanitha. Mazhavil Manorama is headquartered at Aroor, Alappuzha, near Kochi, Kerala.

The channel has been on air since 06:30 pm on 31 October 2011. The Malayalam Manorama group is already into TV media through their Malayalam news channel, Manorama News. Through the launch of Mazhavil Manorama, the group has widened its media business portfolio.

Mazhavil Manorama will be the second regional Malayalam channel to be launched in full high definition, after Asianet HD. It has been aired since 13 August 2015 as Mazhavil Manorama HD.

Programmes

Mazhavil Manorama has various entertainment programmes in its portfolio including television dramas, music reality shows, and Malayalam movies. The channel also telecasts popular shows like Katha Ithu Vare, hosted by Poornima Indrajith, a talk show with celebrities; Samadooram, presented by Sreekandan Nairdna; and popular comedy show Marimayam, which conveys a real picture of public offices in Kerala. The channel also broadcasts reality shows like Veruthe Alla Bharya, a family based reality show hosted by Swetha Menon; Indian Voice, a musical reality show; and Comedy Festival, a reality competition among comedians for a title.

Vidhu Prathap

Vidhu Prathap (born September 1, 1980) is an Indian playback singer. He has sung many songs in over a hundred and fifty films in mostly Malayalam and a few in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. He is an accomplished singer with several hit songs in several landmark movies and is a regular part of the biggest stage shows in Malayalam both in India and abroad.

Biography

Early life

Vidhu Prathap was born in 1980 in Kaithamukku in Trivandrum, Kerala. He did his early education from Holy Angels and then completed his schooling at Christ Nagar. During his school days in Christ Nagar, he used to participate in mono-acts and mimicry and had a real penchant for singing. Vidhu was the Arts Club Secretary in Mar Ivanios college where he did his graduation. In 1997-98, at the age of 17, he won the 'Voice of the Year Award' in a music competition conducted by Asianet, a leading private channel. It was after this that he seriously thought about becoming a singer.

Vidhu started taking music lessons when he was three years old and has won many competitions in several musical categories.

Vidhya Venkatesh

Vidhya Venkatesh is an Indian film actress who has appeared in Tamil and Kannada language films. After making her debut in the Tamil film Panchathanthiram (2002), she won critical acclaim for her performances in Chigurida Kanasu (2003) and Nenapirali (2005).

Career

Vidhya Venkatesh did a degree a BA Literature at Ethiraj College, Chennai before beginning work as a part of the Sheraton Hotels and Resorts franchise. She then spent two and a half years working as an air hostess for Singapore Airlines, flying predominantly between Singapore and Russia. Vidhya was interested in acting in films and approached K. S. Ravikumar for a role in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Panchathanthiram (2002), and was able to successfully audition for the role of Sriman's Telugu wife in the film. She then appeared in the low-budget film Kalatpadai (2003) alongside several newcomers and won positive reviews for her portrayal, with a reviewer noting that she is "excellent in her role" and that "she comes into her own as the movie proceeds". Her modelling co-ordinator subsequently put her pictures through to Kannada director Nagabharana and she next appeared in Chigurida Kanasu (2003). She followed it up with a critically acclaimed performance in Nenapirali (2005), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Kannada Actress.

Manorama News

Manorama News (also known as MM TV) is a Malayalam language news channel owned and operated by Malayala Manorama. The channel, based at Aroor Alleppey, was launched on 17 August 2006, which coincided with the Malayalam New Year. The channel was launched with the assistance of media consulting company Mediaguru Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

The thirty-minute simultaneous newscast of regional news, Nattuvartha, from three regions of Kerala, viz. Malabar region, Kochi Region and Travancore region was done for the first time in the country.

Johny Lukose is the News Director and he also anchors a programme "Nere Chove". Romy Mathew and Pramod Raman are the Coordinating Editors of the channel and heads the input and output functions respectively.
