In this installment of the StarWars.com 10, we’re picking the best moments of banter, bickering, and bliss between a Corellian smuggler and an Alderaanian princess. For this list, we're focusing on moments from the Star Wars films only, ranking them on significance, memorability, and impact. 10. Medal ceremony No words. Just a smile and a wink, which speak volumes. When Leia bestows Han with a medal for his role in destroying the Death Star, the two display a true connection -- one filled with joy, friendship, and maybe something more. 9. My Brother It's true, Han, and it's mind blowing. When our favorite rogue smuggler learns that Luke is Leia's brother, the look on his face is priceless -- he's confused, he's shocked, and then he's thrilled when it all clicks. Same as us. 8. Detention Rescue They call each other names. They argue. And they argue some more. In their first meeting, Leia is no damsel in distress, and Han is charismatic in his own…special way. It could be true love -- if they don't kill each other first. 7. Cheek Kiss After a rocky start (no pun intended) escaping the Empire, Han pulls off a pretty slick move. Finally relaxed and seemingly safe, Leia's gentle kiss is reassuring and tender, showing that despite their sometimes contentious relationship, she loves and believes in this particular scoundrel. 6. Nerf Herder Han's a great pilot, leader, and friend. He's also great at pushing Leia's buttons with his pig-headed bravado. When she can take no more, the sharp-shooting princess delivers the best verbal proton torpedo ever -- then blows up the Death Star. 5. I Love You/I Know (Endor) The key to Han Solo's heart: a hidden blaster. Leia's clever reversal of a previous exchange lets Han know she's okay -- and that she’s ready to save their skins, again. It reminds him that there's no one else like this Rebel princess, and that's why he loves her. 4. Hoth Fight How do you know you're meant to be together? When bickering is this much fun. With Han planning to leave the Alliance, Leia follows him through the Rebel Base corridors. She wants him to stay for reasons she can't admit, and he calls her on it -- in typical Han Solo fashion. 3. Jabba’s Palace Rescue Relationships take work. In a galaxy far, far away, that work means going undercover as a bounty hunter and rescuing your significant other from Jabba the Hutt. Leia's effort to recover Han is brave and daring, and their reunion is genuinely touching. Too bad they're not alone... 2. The Kiss FINALLY! After all of Han's laser-brained bluster, and all of Leia's frustrated sniping, the two share their first kiss. He's funny and charming, she lets her guard down, and the setting -- a well-known bucket of bolts -- is perfect. Some advice for Han: in the future, close the door behind you. 1. I Love You/I Know (Cloud City) It's romantic, defiant, and ultimately, the definitive Han and Leia moment. Han is seconds away from being put into carbon freeze, which he may or may not survive. Leia finally gives words to her feelings, and Han responds as only he can -- tough yet vulnerable, and totally cool. In the end, they speak only five words, and it's magic.
