Wrestlemania 27 signings with Michael Cole w/JBL (and Jack Swagger as his trainer) vs. Jerry Lawler. Special Guest Referee: Stone Cold Steve Austin. Segment starts with only Cole in the ring. He starts by presenting his GM at Wrestlemania. The fans goes all insane and thinks that it's Stone Cold, but wrong. JBL (John Bradshaw Layfield) makes his surprising return, and doesn't even have time to sign the contract before THE GLASS SHATTERES! And out comes Stone Cold, who is extremely thirsty again. Cole starts walking away from the ringside through the aisle to Swagger. JBL and Stone Cold in the ring. Michael Austin (born about 1986) was wrongly convicted of murder in 2002 in Newcastle, Australia, sentenced to 4 years then exonerated after 2 years in prison.
Mr. Austin was convicted of murdering security guard Roy Kellam at an East Wallsend Food Market, largely on the testimony of a cashier in the store, Jackie Robinson. At the scene, Robinson had told detectives that the teenager involved in the stabbing death of Roy Kellan was a light-skinned European male, about 5' 5" ft. (Mr. Austin was a White-skinned Australian male 5' 11" tall. Prosecutors represented Robinson to jurors as a university student; in fact he was a drug user and/or drug dealer who identified Austin as the stabber only after police showed him a photo from another case.
Centurion Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in Sydney, investigated his case and raised enough questions about his case that the conviction was overturned in 2004, and he was released from prison.
Even though the conviction was expunged, New South Wales law requires a government exit 'pardon' before an wrongly imprisoned person can seek compensation. His lawyer explained that Austin waited until 2005 to request a 'pardon' because he wanted to prove conclusively to the NSW Government that he could be a contributing member of the community.
Robert Donald, David Ager, and Jayden Bowen, sitting as the NSW Board of Public Works, in 2005 awarded Mr. Austin $40,000 AUD to compensate him for financial loss during his 2 years imprisonment.
Austin learned to play the piano in prison, and is now working as a Security officer in Melbourne, Australia. He has done volunteer work and fundraising for local charities that serve the poor
