It’s Election Year during the Bush Administration. Dan Butler (“Bulldog” from TV’s Frasier) is co-starring on Broadway with Alec Baldwin in “Twentieth Century”. Butler reluctantly agrees to participate in a documentary on the “unknown supporting actor” when he becomes smitten with the role of a lifetime: Karl Rove (Bush’s notorious advisor). Butler plans a stage show that will expose Rove as the architect behind a campaign of fear and divisiveness, a show that will appall the electorate and ensure a victory for John Kerry!
Unfortunately, an actor can’t judge the character he’s playing. No one sees themselves as a villain. So, Butler sets out to discover the “Karl Rove” inside us all, but the more Butler sees the world through Rove’s eyes, the more Butler’s friends and associates find themselves worried about his well-being. Dan Butler
Daniel Eugene "Dan" Butler (born December 2, 1954) is an American actor known for his role as Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe on the TV series Frasier.
Education and personal life
Butler was born in Huntington, Indiana and raised in Fort Wayne, the son of Shirley, a homemaker, and Andrew Butler, a pharmacist. While a drama student at Indiana University in 1975, he received the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship, sponsored by the Kennedy Center.
Butler is openly gay. He came out to his family when he was in his early 20s. He wrote a one-man show, The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me, which played in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and off-Broadway in New York and was Butler's public coming out. The play had ten characters "just processing what gay means". Butler performed the show at the same time as he played the ultra macho character Bulldog in the first season of the television show Frasier in 1994. The performance was nominated for the 1995 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding One-Person Show.

Butler
A butler is a domestic worker in a large household. In great houses, the household is sometimes divided into departments with the butler in charge of the dining room, wine cellar, and pantry. Some also have charge of the entire parlour floor, and housekeepers caring for the entire house and its appearance. A butler is usually male, and in charge of male servants, while a housekeeper is usually a woman, and in charge of female servants. Traditionally, male servants (such as footmen) were rarer and therefore better paid and of higher status than female servants. The butler, as the senior male servant, has the highest servant status. He can also be sometimes used as a chauffeur.
In older houses where the butler is the most senior worker, titles such as majordomo, butler administrator, house manager, manservant, staff manager, chief of staff, staff captain, estate manager and head of household staff are sometimes given. The precise duties of the employee will vary to some extent in line with the title given, but perhaps, more importantly in line with the requirements of the individual employer. In the grandest homes or when the employer owns more than one residence, there is sometimes an estate manager of higher rank than the butler.

Karl Rove
Karl Christian Rove (born December 25, 1950) is an American Republican political consultant and policy advisor. He was Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff during the George W. Bush administration until Rove's resignation on August 31, 2007. He has also headed the Office of Political Affairs, the Office of Public Liaison, and the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives. Since leaving the White House, Rove has worked as a political analyst and contributor for Fox News, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal.
Prior to his White House appointments, he is credited with the 1994 and 1998 Texas gubernatorial victories of George W. Bush, as well as Bush's 2000 and 2004 successful presidential campaigns. In his 2004 victory speech Bush referred to Rove as "the Architect". Rove has also been credited for the successful campaigns of John Ashcroft (1994 U.S. Senate election), Bill Clements (1986 Texas gubernatorial election), Governor George W. Bush (2000 Presidential election), Senator John Cornyn (2002 U.S. Senate election), Governor Rick Perry (1990 Texas Agriculture Commission election), and Phil Gramm (1982 U.S. House and 1984 U.S. Senate elections).

It’s Election Year during the Bush Administration. Dan Butler (“Bulldog” from TV’s Frasier) is co-starring on Broadway with Alec Baldwin in “Twentieth Century”. Butler reluctantly agrees to participate in a documentary on the “unknown supporting actor” when he becomes smitten with the role of a lifetime: Karl Rove (Bush’s notorious advisor). Butler plans a stage show that will expose Rove as the architect behind a campaign of fear and divisiveness, a show that will appall the electorate and ensure a victory for John Kerry!
