...documentaire réalisé par mes soins mettant en valeur les richesses de mon département...surtout la faune qui y habite tout au long de l'année...la chute des bois du cerf , puis leur repousse...la naissance des faons...l'arrivée du coucou...le chevreuil ...le chamois et autres animaux peuplant les forêts vosgiennes ...et surtout le brâme du cerf en automne.
...petits reportages également sur la fabrication de fromages...et de bonbons...les pistes de ski en hiver...les baignades dans les lacs en été...les feux d'artifices sur le lac de Gérardmer...et des superbes paysages à toutes les saisons.
j'ai reçu il y a quelques temps déjà un avertissement pour " atteinte à droits d'auteur "
il semblerait qu'il s'agisse de chants d'oiseaux rajoutés comme fond sonore , or ce sont
des sons que j'ai moi-même enregistré en forêt au printemps 1997 alors que je filmais des cerfs refaisant leurs bois ........j'ai toujours les originaux filmés en HI 8 chez moi ...

Vosges (French pronunciation: [voʒ]) is a French department, named after the local mountain range. It contains the hometown of Joan of Arc, Domrémy.
The Vosges department is one of the original 83 departments of France, created on February 9, 1790 during the French Revolution. It was made of territories that had been part of the province of Lorraine. In German it is referred to as Vogesen.
In 1793 the independent principality of Salm-Salm (town of Senones and its surroundings), enclosed inside the Vosges department, was annexed to France and incorporated into Vosges. In 1795 the area of Schirmeck was detached from the Bas-Rhin department and incorporated into the Vosges department. The Vosges department had now an area of 6,127 km² (2,366 sq. miles) which it kept until 1871.
In 1794 the Vosges was the site of a major battle between the forces of Revolutionary France and the Allied Coalition. See Battle of the Vosges.
The Place des Vosges in Paris was so renamed in 1799 when the department became the first to pay the new Revolutionary taxes.

Lock operation in the canal des vosges
Because I am often asked how it is in the locks, I made a little movie. As you can see, it is a pretty straightforward and smooth process, once you get the hang of it: Use the remote or call the operator on the VHF radio to have the lock opened, wait for the green light, drive in, throw the ropes up, climb the ladder, fasten the ropes, tighten them a little as the boat rises, wait for the doors to open fully / green light (!), drive out. Of course it took a while (about 10 locks) until it was running that smoothly, and involved a great deal of pulling, shouting and running around at first. The Place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in Paris. It is located in the Marais district, and it straddles the dividing-line between the 3rd and 4th arrondissements of Paris. Originally known as the Place Royale, the Place des Vosges was built by Henri IV from 1605 to 1612. A true square (140 m × 140 m), it embodied the first European program of royal city planning. It was built on the site of the Hôtel des Tournelles and its gardens: at a tournament at the Tournelles, a royal residence, Henri II was wounded and died. Catherine de Medicis had the Gothic complex demolished, and she removed to the Louvre. The Place des Vosges, inaugurated in 1612 with a grand carrousel to celebrate the wedding of Louis XIII and Anne of Austria, is the prototype of all the residential squares of Eur... -

Getting a chance to enjoy the ambiance and explore all the little side street running off the Place des Vosges. A person needs time and repeat visits to really enjoy the individual Paris neighborhoods. -

The rumbling noise you hear in many parts of the video is just the wind. The bad cuts at around 4:30 were due to a power failure while I was editing the video; that did something to the editing project and I couldn't make it go away.

de nos 8 randonneurs, venus d’horizons divers, qui confient à
leur guide, Pierre, l’opportunité de leur faire découvrir une
nature montagnarde et rurale. Du lac de Gérardmer, en
passant par la Route des crêtes, pour arriver au lac de
Blanchemer, ils vont parcourir près de 80 kilomètres à pied
dans un des plus grands massifs forestiers de France.
Pendant six jours, ils s’immergent dans la forêt profonde, bivouaquent parmi les arbres centenaires, dorment à la belle étoile dans des clairières reculées, découvrent l’art du fromage ou le secret de la cuisine aux herbes !

Because I am often asked how it is in the locks, I made a little movie. As you can see, it is a pretty straightforward and smooth process, once you get the hang of it: Use the remote or call the operator on the VHF radio to have the lock opened, wait for the green light, drive in, throw the ropes up, climb the ladder, fasten the ropes, tighten them a little as the boat rises, wait for the doors to open fully / green light (!), drive out.
Of course it took a while (about 10 locks) until it was running that smoothly, and involved a great deal of pulling, shouting and running around at first. Here are four tips that made all the difference for us:
Tip #1: No hurry.
Tip #2: Stay as far away from the incoming water as possible.
Tip #3: Let the ship move a little inside the lock with the water and don't pull too much on the ropes.
Tip #4: If you are behind a commercial vessel, wait until it's fully into the lock our out of the lock and the water has calmed down again.

The Place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in Paris. It is located in the Marais district, and it straddles the dividing-line between the 3rd and 4th arrondissements of Paris.
Originally known as the Place Royale, the Place des Vosges was built by Henri IV from 1605 to 1612. A true square (140 m × 140 m), it embodied the first European program of royal city planning. It was built on the site of the Hôtel des Tournelles and its gardens: at a tournament at the Tournelles, a royal residence, Henri II was wounded and died. Catherine de Medicis had the Gothic complex demolished, and she removed to the Louvre.
The Place des Vosges, inaugurated in 1612 with a grand carrousel to celebrate the wedding of Louis XIII and Anne of Austria, is the prototype of all the residential squares of European cities that were to come. What was new about the Place Royale in 1612 was that the housefronts were all built to the same design, probably by Baptiste du Cerceau, of red brick with strips of stone quoins over vaulted arcades that stand on square pillars.
The steeply-pitched blue slate roofs are pierced with discreet small-paned dormers above the pedimented dormers that stand upon the cornices. Only the north range was built with the vaulted ceilings that the "galleries" were meant to have. Two pavilions that rise higher than the unified roofline of the square center the north and south faces and offer access to the square through triple arches. Though they are designated the Pavilion of the King and of the Queen, no royal personage has ever lived in the aristocratic square. The Place des Vosges initiated subsequent developments of Paris that created a suitable urban background for the French aristocracy.
Before the square was completed, Henri IV ordered the Place Dauphine to be laid out. Within a mere five-year period the king oversaw an unmatched building scheme for the ravaged medieval city: additions to the Louvre Palace, the Pont Neuf, and the Hôpital Saint Louis as well as the two royal squares.
Cardinal Richelieu had an equestrian bronze of Louis XIII erected in the center (there were no garden plots until 1680). The original was melted down in the Revolution; the present version, begun in 1818 by Louis Dupaty and completed by Jean-Pierre Cortot, replaced it in 1825. The square was renamed in 1799 when the département of the Vosges became the first to pay taxes supporting a campaign of the Revolutionary army. The Restoration returned the old royal name, but the short-lived Second Republic restored the revolutionary one in 1848.
Today the square is planted with a bosquet of mature lindens set in grass and gravel, surrounded by clipped lindens.

The fashion District I am in is located on one of Paris's oldest Medieval Street, the Rue Du Faubourg, Saint Honore. Let's take a walk down the street and indulge in some window shopping. There is a series of designer showrooms, featuring clothes, cosmetics and furnishing. There are also a few avaunt guard exclusive Paris girl boutiques on the street, just remember the prices are actually quite hyper and exclusive. It may take you half a day to walk along the street.
Each shop window seems more attractive than the last one you just saw. In fact, window decoration is taken very seriously. The showroom with the most attractive display is the one located here at Hermes, Hermes is considered by many to be a representation, Parisian culture. Hermes'signature peace is, of course, the scarf. Perhaps the most renowned label here is Christian Dior. The label that made Paris the leader of fashion after the second world war. The amnesty here is a little bit on the formal side, not surprising, since here are the richest shops in Paris. So, be sure to wear presentable clothes. This is Guenol showing you Paris.
