Athens, Greece: Announcement of the occupation at Gini Building in Athens Polytechnic

At Monday afternoon 29/02/2016, after an initiative of Themistocleous 58 squat and with collaboration with solidaritarians, we occupied the Gini building at Athens Polytechnic, in order to provide shelter to refugee families that at this moment are being tossed at Victoria Square.

We invite groups, collectives and individuals to support effectively the occupation for the purpose of turning this building to a center of struggle and resistance against the states and their borders.

More than 2500 people supported the great benefit concert of Void Network in Occupied Theater Embros in Athens, for the infrastructures of the Solidarity to the Refugees and Immigrants Movement in Exarchia and Lesbos island in 13/2/2016. Two days after the Greek state attacked to Embros cutting electricity.

Squatters occupy former Royal Mint building in Tower Hill

Yesterday squatters occupied a former Royal Mint building in Tower Hill in protest against homelessness, empty buildings and the ongoing criminalisation of squatting.

The building on Royal Mint Court was converted into offices in 1980, when the Royal Mint completed its move to Llantrisant in Wales. At its height, the building symbolised the monetary power of the City of London and, as its occupiers point out, has become to represent the vast inequality it once had a part in producing.

Athens: Anarchists occupy the Italian Consulate against the extradition of 5 greek students to Italy

Few hours ago, anarchists from Rouviconas collective occupied the Italian Consulate in Athens, against the extradition of 5 greek students to Italy, that back in May 1st 2015 took part in the No Expo May Day protest in Milan.

On 2 May 2015, a day after the rally, and on the sole criterion of their departure from an occupied social center, they were abducted by the italian police and detained for several hours without an interpreter, and later were released with no charges accused.
