Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder in which sustained muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal postures. The movements may resemble a tremor. Dystonia is often initiated or worsened by voluntary movements, and symptoms may “overflow” into adjacent muscles.
The disorder may be hereditary or caused by other factors such as birth-related or other physical trauma, infection, poisoning (e.g., lead poisoning) or reaction to pharmaceutical drugs, particularly neuroleptics and certain flu drugs. Treatment must be highly customized to the needs of the individual and may include oral medications, botulinum neurotoxin injections, physical therapy and/or other supportive therapies, and/or surgical procedures such as deep brain stimulation.
There are multiple types of dystonia, and numerous diseases and conditions may cause dystonia.
Dystonia is classified by: 1. Clinical characteristics such as age of onset, body distribution, nature of the symptoms, and associated features such as additional movement disorders or neurological symptoms, and 2. Cause (which includes changes or damage to the nervous system and inheritance). Physicians use these classifications to guide diagnosis and treatment.
A national or international awareness day is a date usually set by a major organisation or government to commemorate a public health or ethical cause of importance on a national or international level.

This is what a really good day without any type of medication looks like for me. Originally I wanted to document my disorder as much as I could. My disorder kept progressing and pushing a button on a camera was quickly no longer as important, however, I will say that if I were to dab, or wait for a dose of about 100 mg worth of THC to kick in, you would watch my movements become more controlled, and I could appear "normal." I am basically wrestling my own muscles with each movement. Isn't generalized dystonia so cute?

Actually didn't know this was being recorded but it's a good one to show my speech when I become rushed. This is just a conversation with Dr's but it still shows I still use bad habits eg. Dropping my chin, not keeping my chin up. On a personal note I think my speech has improved but I'am still not happy with still plenty of work to do and it's not a pretty sight watching me talk 🙈 Onwards and upwards and I'am seeing speech therapist next Friday. Best thing I've done showing my weaknesses and battles not just being in a gym 😉 NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE ♿️

CONTACT BELOW I was just put on a medication to test if the dystonia/dyskinesia is tardive. It makes tardive symptoms worse. So far, just from my first dose, it's spread to my face, tongue, neck, lips, and eyes (instead of flickering, they're clamped shut with extreme tension) . Before today it was just my arms, hands, legs and feet. Every now and then my face would grimace but not like this. Contact: katseizure@gmail.com
